We got nothing special on Valentine’s Day this year. Can you believe that? Every other dog was getting special treats and outings and we got NOTHING. I had to ask my sisters why this was – don’t we usually celebrate? Are the Momz and Dadz just one of those couples that aren’t romantic because they’ve been married a zillion years?
No, that is not it, they said. “After all, they say “I love you” to each other, and us, every day.” My sissies reminded me that it was kind of a rough and busy weekend around here; Momz told you all about that earlier this week. If you haven’t read that post yet, be sure you do and note how I was the highlight of the weekend!
It wasn’t just that, there was another thing. See, the Momz tries not to dwell on sad anniversaries. For the most part, she doesn’t remember the exact dates of when loved ones – human or furry – died. She’ll remember the month and the year but she doesn’t want to focus on the sad dates. But our brother Kobi died two years ago last Saturday – the day before Valentine’s Day. So Momz just can’t forget that date.
It was just another reason, along with our house sale maybe not going through, to be sad. But that is behind us now, the house is back to being sold again and Momz’ migraine finally went away. As it turns out, she had a special surprise for me (us) that she was saving up for when she felt better!

The Momz took the photos but she is letting me tell you all about what we got in our fun Pet Treater box this month! It is MY box – see the letter addressed to me? That was a personal letter from a former shelter dog named Cannon just to me. I was lucky not to ever have to live in a shelter; a rescue pulled my biological Mom out just before I was born. I was in a foster home before coming to my permanent home here. Cannon told me about how Pet Treater donates a bag of treats, a bed, blanket or toy to a local shelter dog or cat for every box that they sell.
I am a good brother and always share with my sisters. Sometimes I even let them steal toys away from me without putting up a fuss! Here is what we got:
- Fleece Pet Throw from the ASPCA. It’s super soft, made from recycled materials, and machine washable. Plus we love the bright orange color!
- Naturally Healthy Dog Biscuits from Carolina Biscuit Co. Vegan & grain free, filled with healthy ingredients, antioxidants, and Omega 3s. These were a big hit. In fact, Cricket rudely stole one right out of Momz’ hand! Then, Sheba tried to do the same! I almost didn’t get one but Momz took it right out of Sheba’s mouth!
I am mesmerized by this treat! The rude one. Like my photo bomb? - Huggle Hounds Ruff-Tex Squeak Toy. Made from natural and durable rubber, non-toxic with a super loud squeaker!
I like this guy! - Huggle Hounds soft, squeaky plush heart that says “Fur-Ever”.
- Huggle Hounds Tuffut Technology Plush Blue Bigfoot Toy. He didn’t actually have a name so we named him Bigfoot. Momz says she has visions of blue fluff everywhere when Sheba gets playing with him. That’s OK, Momz, we don’t have to worry about house showings anymore!
I like Bigfoot too! Sheba got him, and sure enough the fur started flying! Cricket circles the table hoping for more treats. - Nature’s Recipe Oven Baked Lamb Flavor biscuits. These are all natural treats with no corn, soy or artificial preservatives. This a BIG bag of treats – 19 ounces!
- Pure Luv Mini Sizzlin Strips, chicken & sweet potato. Momz says we have to be honest here. She doesn’t like some of the ingredients in these treats, so we won’t be trying them. Is your Mom so fussy? That’s OK, we know it’s because she loves us!
- For the Human! Wise Dogs by H. Jackson Brown Jr. and Dale C. Spartas. “What dogs teach us about living a happy and rewarding life”. This book is filled with sweet photos and quotes with common sense advice from dogs.
- “Romeo” bandana. I’m tellin’ ya, Momz is over the top about this bandana – she thinks it suits me perfectly. I think she’d be happy even if that was the only thing we got. I think my new nickname is going to be “Romeo”. BOL

The Momz says that even in spite of the one bag of treats she didn’t like, in her opinion Pet Treater is the best subscription box out there. You get SO much in one box, and we especially love that there are lots of toys! We love the Huggle Hounds brand, and how fun that we got three of their toys this time!
Subscriptions start at $24.99 and go down to $19.99 for a 12 month subscription, and others are available in between. The subscriptions auto renew, but you can cancel at any time. They even have a one time box for $34.99 if you want to give it a try before committing.

Wow that looks like a great treat box with lots of nice goodies inside it. To answer your question, yes I am very picky with the treats that we use too, and we do that because we love you, so don’t be too hard on the Momz. 🙂
Wow Jan, I can’t believe two years have passed already. I’m sure it was a super hard day, I wish I’d remembered so I could have sent you a virtual hug.
I know, two years already, I can’t believe it either. Thank you….luckily I had lots of distractions that day. My friend was visiting from Mass. and we took her up to the new house, and then later in the day we had a get together at my sister’s house. It helped me keep my mind off it, but darn, I still miss that guy every day.
My dogs got new treats!
I received delicious chocolates for Valentine’s Day.
I got a trip out of town for Valentines, it was a lot of fun.
Sorry to hear about the house sale not going through. When we sold my mom’s house we had the buyer from hell, put my sister through the ringer, but the buyer knew she had to go through with it and the end it did. Dogs are the best way to cheer yourself up though! That’s why mom buys me cheap squeaky toys once in awhile just to see how much fun I have killing it. Makes dad so mad though. Love Dolly
No worries…the sale is back on! I’m just glad to hear that we’re not the only ones with the buyers from hell. In this case it’s the realtor from hell too (theirs, not ours). I’M the one that had to salvage the deal by sending a personal email to the buyers! Keep your paws crossed for us though, because I won’t relax until the papers are signed!
We went to a show for Valentine’s Day. 🙂
That sounds like fun!!
My dog got new treats for Valentine’s Day.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get anything for Valentine’s Day (despite that it’s also my anniversary). My husband and I are on very bad terms and likely going to divorce soon. It’s been years since he’s done anything for me for Valentine’s Day. I did spend the day with my furbabies, though, so that was good.
I’m so sorry to hear that, Linda. I can imagine how rough that must be. I hope your furbabies gave you extra love to help you feel better.
No, I haven’t had a valentine for awhile. 🙁
Oh, I’m sorry. That’s why I don’t love Valentine’s Day…because it can make some people sad if they don’t have a valentine.
I didn’t get anything for Valentine’s day, now I did get everyone else something but nada for me!
I guess that’s why they say “it’s better to give than to receive”, right? 🙂
Yes is it <3
I did not, which is exactly what I wanted.
I got flowers and the pups got lots of Three Dog Bakery treats.
Nice! We love Three Dog Bakery treats, though we haven’t had any for a while.
i took 2 of my girls to a doggy vday party at an independent dog store. i brought home a bag of treats to my oldest gal since she cant go to events anymore. i did not get anything, but my girls got treats.
That sounds like fun! As long as the dogs get treats, that is all I would need to make me happy! These days, I think my hubby and I spend far more on the dogs than we do on each other. 🙂
No…I didn’t get anything for Vday BUT we just rescued a new pup. So…he’s my love bug! I could use these treats as we have three furs and two are picky esters.
No….sadly….I didn’t get anything for Valentine’s. But….we got a new rescue pup on Feb. 8th….so our money went to him. He’s my new love bug.
Oh, congratulations! A rescue pup is definitely worth giving up any Valentine’s gifts for! ♥
Hubby got me a gc and a really nice card 🙂 Dogs got treats
Lots of licks from Layla 🙂
Aw, I love it….licks are the best!!
The momz always comes through in the end. Luke – your collar is the same as Jack’s!
We bet Jack looks equally as handsome in that collar!
My pup got some new treats for Valentine’s Day!
You can’t go wrong with treats…they’re always a hit!
No i did not get anything for Valentines but my dog Blackie did. He loves to get new toys and this was a hit. Thanks for sharing.
Lucky pups. I like that they have biscuits on the box. So many theses days only have chews.
I agree! We don’t do a lot of chews around here, so I have a collection from other boxes we’ve gotten!
We stayed at home this year and watched The Walking Dead. 🙂
This is so cool. So fun to get mail and treats!! Cocoa loves Huggle Hounds. You are loved for sure!!
That box of goodies was worth waiting for! We got some treats on Valentine’s Day…but not nearly as much as we think we should have gotten.
There’s just never enough treats, is there? 🙂
I almost forgot to get Barley and Soth something for Valentine’s and had to rush out the day before the get Barley her annual stuffed heart to add to the collection. Sadly, PetSmart didn’t have any good kitty Valentine’s so I swung by another store on the way home and picked up some compressed catnip mice that Soth likes. I’m glad your crew wasn’t forgotten after all 😉
You’re such a good Mom to make a special trip out to get them something! 🙂
All we got for Valentines was cow ears, yummy!
That is an awesome box of goodies! I got a FitBit and the boys got treats. It was a great day. ♥
I didn’t get the pups anything for Valentine’s but they did at least get to go on an extra long walk.
Extra long walks are very special, and a wonderful thing to do for Valentine’s! We should have done that…but it was below zero wind chills here that day!
Now that is one awesome giveaway ! Whooa
Lily & Edward
Now that is a loaded box! Your collar looks great with the box too. Enjoy!
The colors do kind of coordinate, don’t they? 🙂
I got puppies the week before so that lasts me awhile. No we don’t do VD. What a cool box, enjoy!
Puppies are definitely THE BEST Valentine’s Day gift!!
I got a bracelet, necklace, sweatshirt, and box of candy for Valentine’s Day. 🙂
Oh, that sounds so nice! I might have to re-visit this not celebrating Valentine’s Day policy the hubby and I have had. 🙂
I got some well earned time and a dinner at KFC with my boyfriend.
Bandit got a toy, I got flowers, a card and candy!
I did not get anything for myself either this Valentine’s…though I did get to go on a road trip with Ma and Daddy-dog to the beach at Sanibel Island! That box has so much stuff in it! Wow!
We think a road trip sounds like an awesome way to spend Valentine’s Day!
