Life with Multiple Pets is this week’s theme for Multiple Pet Mania; be sure to watch for and enter the giveaway at the end of this post! What is my life with multiple pets like? We have three dogs and one cat (we very recently lost an elderly cat too). It is at alternating times rewarding, challenging, fun, and sometimes stressful.
Plus you need stuff….lots of stuff. Stuff like food, treats, toys, collars and leashes, beds, and grooming products. It always makes me happy to find a company, especially online since that’s how I do most of my shopping (so I can be home with the furry kids more), that carries a variety of these types of products.
K9 Bytes is exactly that kind of online place. There are a variety of products in almost all of those categories I mentioned, other than food. They don’t carry beds but they do carry blankets. They carry gifts for not just pets but for pet lovers as well. All of their products are handmade in the USA and the prices are extremely reasonable. Good prices are definitely important to a multi-pet household, because we can sure spend a lot of money on all of these supplies for all of these pets!
We were thrilled to give some of these products a try. I love to give the dogs new collars, especially with the changing seasons or for special occasions. I don’t usually match them, but I love to coordinate them. I wanted to get them each, and our cat Samantha too, coordinating collars for the Memorial Day and upcoming 4th of July holidays. K9 Bytes has a great selection of patriotic collars! Here’s what we chose:
These collars are soft and comfortable, and the prices range from $9.00 for a mini dog or cat collar, to only $15.00 for an extra-large dog collar! There is a huge selection of pretty collars for many holidays and occasions as well as just every day wear.
Anyone who’s been reading my blog for a while knows that toys are a challenge around here: Luke and Sheba look to destroy everything they’re given. I love the handmade fleece toys at K9 Bytes because they are made from soft fabric….Luke and Sheba do A LOT of tugging. These toys are gentle on their mouths when they chew and try to destroy, and the fleece cleans their teeth and gums as they play. Plus if we can get them to hang around long enough, they are machine washable!

The photos will show you how much fun they are having with these toys:
Another fun thing about having multiple pets is seeing the different personalities each pet has. Luke and Sheba get excited about new toys, and then do their best to destroy them. Cricket doesn’t have much interest in new toys (unless it’s her favorite ball), but she loves the “dead” toys, as I call the ones Luke and Sheba have wreaked their havoc on!

What else do you get with multiple pets in your home? Lots of photo bombs!
Samantha not only got in on the collar action this time, but she got some toys of her own to try too! She absolutely loved the Catnip Candy knotted fabric toys. Each toy is filled with high quality catnip and very well made. Sam played with hers for a while, and even though she got one knot untied she never got it completely open. They also have catnip pillows and mice.
That brings us to another challenge in a multi-pet household. We have dogs that eat everything, and it’s difficult to let Sam have toys without worrying about Sheba or Luke eating them. Sometimes you have to think outside of the box. Sam would sometimes go up into the bathtub in our master bathroom to get away from Luke. He means well most of the time, but he can get too rough with her. So I thought why not throw her toys in there to play with? She can have fun in a place she hangs out anyway, and I don’t have to worry about the dogs getting the toys and possibly eating them. I have even put a towel in there for her to sleep on.

I wanted to try the homemade treats from K9 Bytes as well. We use treats for training, and as other rewards, such as when I clean all of their ears and give them a treat afterwards. The Banana Oat treats we tried are a cute paw print shape and have just a few simple ingredients. They are wheat, corn, sugar and preservative free. I could easily break them in half if I wanted a smaller treat for Cricket (this time of year she gets so much exercise though I usually let her have the same size treat as the big dogs). All of their treats are made with natural, high quality, human grade ingredients. They have a variety of selections and cat treats too!
There’s never a shortage of love when you have multiple pets, and spoiling them with toys and treats is fun. You’re almost never alone, and there is always some sort of entertainment going on.

I just finally checked on Emma’s review too, and, HA! We ALL picked the same toys. That is REALLY saying something about how great those K9 Bytes toys are for multiple pet maniacs! That fleece covered ball makes me SO happy because we can have a ball that Brychwyn won’t rip all the covering off of. I agree with you that the affordable, one-stop shopping at K9 Bytes means the world to a busy pet household too. Great review! Oh, and I am glad to have finally found what was going on with the bathtub! Hilarious.
We put that tub in because we were told we should have one in a master bath for resale value (not that we’ll probably ever go anywhere), and we really don’t use it! LOL….so at least now it gets some sort of use!
Sheba got the ball out of the fleece toy…not surprising, but they are still having fun playing with the fleece part (I don’t know where the ball ended up!)….Cricket was just running around with it this morning.
Love patriotic collars. You are very clever putting sam’s toys and bed in the tub, her own special spot.
I love the patriotic collars! I’ve never thought of toys made from fleece! What a great idea.
Nice! Everyone looks ready for the 4th of July 🙂 I’ve almost always been a multi-pet household… there are just too many great pets and types of pets out there to just have one!
Good luck to our American friends. Looks like they can get some cool stuff!
Don’t forget the photo contest is open to everyone everywhere! I know you have some good photos of your household you could enter!
Love the collars and the idea of giving Sam her own special place to play.
Those collars look great–and you can’t beat those prices! Glad that there’s something fun for Sam to play with, too. Barley usually leaves Soth’s toys alone, but the bathtub idea is great!
So, did Luke climb into the tub after Samantha and her toys?
Once I remember my Pinterest and Instagram names, I’ll finish submitting my bonus entries.
🙂
No, so far that’s one place he hasn’t been able to get (knock wood). He has jumped up on the tub deck once or twice but I think he’s a bit skittish of trying to get in…even though I’m sure he wants to steal Sam’s toys! 🙂
Good luck in the giveaway!
Those patriotic collars are so cute. And right on time for next month!
Besides the awesome giveaway in this post, the bestest bestest parts are Luke happily swinging his new toy and Samantha in the tub! Love 🙂
Multiple pets households rock!! There is never a single dull moment in them!

Such a cute review! Looks like everyone is enjoying their stuff from K9 Bytes. I wish we could get cat stuff, but with Bert, there is just no way!
wow that are great prices… and I love the star collar… no wonder that Luke looks so proud, it’s beautiful!
