Has anyone noticed how hard I’ve been working lately? The Momz has been a bit busy and preoccupied recently, and of course I, being the oldest, had to step up to help:
- I had to get up early on a Sunday morning to play with toys so Momz would have a post for Adopt a Senior Pet Month.
- I had to do selfies (again!) for Sunday Selfies.
- I had to help Momz pick Luke as our MVP for Team Wag ‘n Woof – Momz couldn’t pick one of us on her own (she’s very indecisive)!
- I had to look cute for some photos for Momz’ post about not judging beagles.
- Throw my ball in the leaf piles so Momz could take photos of that.
- My biggest project was writing the whole blog post for the #PeanutsMovie promotion! But my work on that wasn’t done there….this week I had to draw the names for the winners of the Peanuts hats!
We decided we would write the names of everyone who wanted to win a hat on pieces of paper and then I would draw them out of a our #PeanutsMovie hat. OK, that’s not really exactly how it would go since I can’t really do that! Momz threw a treat in the bottom of the hat and hoped I would knock the pieces of paper out. We needed five winners, and I made sure it took a while.
I’m not stupid, you know, I knew I’d get a lot more treats if I didn’t knock the pieces of paper out very quickly. So it took a few minutes, quite a few treats, and enlisting the help of the Dadz to try holding the hat…and eventually I knocked five names out.

Here are the winners:
All the winners have been notified and they responded so hopefully their hats are on the way to them now!
Yes, it’s a tough job, but some beagle has got to do it. I wonder what else is on my agenda this week?
(Psssttt…Momz doesn’t want me to tell you because she doesn’t want to jinx it. She’s been busy because she and Dadz found a house they want to buy, and their offer was accepted! HOWEVER, we still have to sell our house. So Momz has been busy with paperwork for the house to buy, and then she’s been working hard on keeping our house clean for showings and doing some more de-cluttering and cleaning out. Some personal things are getting packed for now to get them out of the way (it’s called “staging” I guess).
Anyway, the house they are looking at has some really cool possibilities for us dogs, but I’d better not risk jinxing it by telling you like Momz said. As soon as we get an offer on our house we’ll tell you all about the new one! Cross your paws for us, please!)
Today we are joining the Thursday Barks & Bytes blog hop. Thank you to our hosts 2 Brown Dawgs blog, and Heart Like a Dog. Please visit other blogs through the links below!
WHat a cute post, you are doing a awesome job Cricket. Good luck with the house.
Good thing you’ve got her back!
I know, right? 🙂
Tell you mom to attach the treats to the names for the giveaway. The winners will be the first five you chew… Oh, that might not work. 🙂
Thinking of you pups while the mom is keeping the house clean. It’s hard to be a dog when a house is for sale. We actually moved out of our house for a week so it could be shown without dog hair.
Good luck!
Thank you!
You are right, it is not easy to be a dog right now. Momz keeps telling us to stop shedding and tracking in dirt. 🙂
What a cool way to select your winners! Well done! Tell your mom we will keep fingers and paws crossed that everything goes her way and you all get to move really soon. Tell her “staging” is a pain in the tail, but it all pays off in the long run.
Thank you for telling us that! Momz was unsure about whether to do the staging or not, but it seemed like it couldn’t hurt, and it gives her something positive to do too, instead of just sitting around and waiting for something to happen!
Good luck on the house selling/buying! My mom doesn’t know how your mom does it, the blogs, working and the house. Maybe my mom is just lazier because she keeps blogging less and less so I’m getting kind of bored. Love Dolly
Dolly, the Momz secret about keeping the blog going amongst all this craziness, is that she’s obsessed with it. We missed our usual post yesterday because of stuff with the house, and she couldn’t stand it!!
At least you are picking up the slack for some good reasons. Paws crossed your house sells fast!
You are a hard worker, Cricket. We hope you get extra treats for all the work you’re doing. Congrats to all the winners! And we purr that all goes well with the house. 🙂
Gosh Cricket you have been working hard! When I did the pick a winner thing, I was thankful that I had retrievers with a reliable “fetch” or it could have been a disaster. You did a good job picking the winners. Congrats to all 5 of them and thanks for joining the hop. I sure hope the selling the house goes well.
The Momz almost got Luke to do the picking…but I convinced her I could handle it!
Pssst….POND…..that’s one of the possibilities for the new home, it’s something Momz has been looking for when viewing properties. There’s no pond there, but the perfect place for one. Don’t tell her I told you!!
You are making me tired
Lily & Edward
Hi Y’all!
Sometimes humans just can’t seem to get anything done!
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
We will keep paws, fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for y’all! Best of luck!
Yes, Cricket, you have been a very busy beagle! That happens sometimes, especially when you’re the oldest. Shadow is trying to fill Callie’s paw prints on little sister Ducky’s discipline lessons. She’s doing a pretty good job, too. I figure Callie’s spirit is guiding her so I just step in when absolutely necessary.
Thank you….we appreciate the support on the house!
I think I need to channel my beagle brother Kobi a bit more…he knew better how to keep the rest of this crew in line!
Love, Cricket
First the house news is SO exciting that I’m literally crossing everything that will cross!
Second, Cricket you’ve done a great job picking up the Momz’ slack. 😉 I can tell how hard you have worked at everything.
Third, you’re a pretty smart Beagle to milk that hat trick, and BTW, congratulations to the winners of the Peanuts’ hats.
Finally, thank you for joining the blog hop, it’s lovely to have you ‘hopping’ along with us. 🙂
Nice work on the blog lately, Cricket! That is great you have a PA on your new home. I sure hope you can sell yours fast. Decluttering, depersonalizing, and cleaning are great things to do to have it in shape for showings. Paws crossed.
Good luck, humans get really grumpy when they change abodes.
Cricket, I think that you are doing way more work than the others. Have you considered joining the UHW? Bentley wants to start a United Hound Workers union! BOL! BOL!
Count me in, Bentley!!! Love, Cricket
You are one busy Beagle!! Thank you so much for doing it all in the name of the blog 🙂 And we will be sending good thoughts to you all about the house. I won’t tell anyone 🙂
Busy busy! Glad mom has you to help up!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Good for you! Busy beagle that you are – but you’re a BIG help when you take on so many responsibilities you know! We remember our agent telling us we needed to “stage” when we were getting ready to put our house on the market. Mom just went through the house with boxes and took all the “clutter” away and put it in the basement, and that was all the staging she did……..the first people to look at our house made an offer. You never know – some people like to see that a house has been lived in and loved and others like it to look like a model home! HAHAHA Good luck to you………..!!!
Love, Sammy
I know, people are so different, we weren’t sure what to do as far as staging! It doesn’t seem to be that big a deal in our area (judging by the houses we’ve looked at!). But I needed to do something positive other than just waiting for something to happen, so packing up some stuff at least gives me some satisfaction (not to mention the fact that the house is sorely in need of clean out anyway…LOL!)
If we end up not selling, like your family, Sammy, then we’ll be able to re-arrange and re-decorate more easily!
How exciting! Our fingers and paws are crossed for you! Yes it’s tough when we have to take over all the blog work, I don’t think our families understand just how busy we are. 😉
That’s more work than Snoppy has to do efurry day :o) Congrats to all winners!!!!!
We better keep your secret a little till efurrything is home (literally) and dry :o)
