January went pretty easy on us as far as the winter weather, but it’s been pretty up and down. February seems to want to make up for what January lacked in snow and cold! We’ve had several snow storms over the last week or so, and some spells of frigid weather in there too. We missed walks for a few days, but luckily the snowfall brought warmer temperatures (warmer means around freezing or just above) so Luke and I got some nice walks in. Snow was falling about every time we walked though!
For some reason the days when the sun finally shines are the ones that I have to leave the house for work, and the Dadz gets those nice sunny walks with Luke! Here’s just a few recent snaps I took while out there:

By the way, I learned on our last walk that I’m going to now need to get my snowshoes out, because the snow is getting quite deep out there! We had to stick to blazed trails which makes our walks shorter, so we’ll be working on making more trails with snowshoes, after another spell of frigid temperatures passes by after the next couple of days.
Before we got all the snow, we also got an ice storm. I’m not sure this photo does justice to just how pretty our trees were encased in ice. Even the sun wasn’t melting it off on that day! One good thing now though is that when the sun does shine, you can feel the warmth, which you couldn’t in December and January. I was therefore surprised how long the ice and snow has stayed on our trees, though the ice at least finally melted. It does seem as if winter is here to stay for a while now, in spite of what the groundhog might have said!

That’s a bunch of snow. It’s snow here tonight, urgh winter be gone.
I’m SO ready for it to be over with this year!
I’m simply in awe of you! I’d never go outside in the cold weather. Y’all are sooo awesome to deal with your farm and the cold!
Trust me, it’s not easy some days though! If not for the farm and Luke, I’m pretty sure I’d never go outside either! 🙂
We have had more winter too, this Feb, then in January…but its still what I call ‘yo-yo’ weather…mild, frigid and up and down like that. Oh well, weather is the one thing we have NO control over, we have to like it or lump it, BOL!
Lovely snow & ice pictures!
I bet Luke stays warm & cozy in his coat.
I have collected a few over the years, and I look for those with belly coverage, too. Belly straps are just not warm at all. Sheesh, that is where they feel all the cold and wind.
You are so right that we no control over the weather – I wonder what it would be like if we did? LOL
I LOVE these coats for Luke (we have two). It is so hard to find the ones that give the belly coverage, and that’s where Luke needs it the most (his fur is very thin underneath).
Beautiful winter photos, but it looks very cold. Looks like you could use a jacket that covers your hips & thighs!
Definitely!
I’m still jealous of your snow! –But not the cold! 🙂 And I like that coat that Luke is wearing! Todd needs a new one, so I keep looking for one that has a nice “tuck-under” to keep him warm because he’s so close to the grond. So many are made to just look nice, but not keep our pups warm.
I hope you’ve had a good weekend!! Take care, and stay warm!
We hope to get out for a walk tomorrow, when the frigid temperatures finally break (at least for a day or two)! We do love the snow, it’s just the cold we can’t take. 🙂 I LOVE Luke’s coat too! It’s really hard to find one that gives coverage over his belly, where his fur is thinnest. I’ve written about this one more than once: https://www.afarmgirlsfinds.com/a-coat-of-a-different-color/
Pretty photos. Happy Valentine’s Day!
The snow is so pretty if all you had to do was look at it. 😉 We got some snow too but not as much as you.
It’s definitely best admired when you’re looking through a window at it. LOL
What beautiful winter wonderland images. Your weather sounds very much like ours. February, normally a dry month in terms of snow has really dumped the white stuff on us. Stay safe and warm!
February is the new January, or something like that. LOL!
I wish we would get a little snow for a change! But with temps in the mid-50s to low 70s lately, it ain’t gonna happen. Boo! But at least some of our friends get to enjoy the kind of winters I grew up with. I can’t complain too much tho – at least the warmer days make our walks more comfortable.
It sounds very nice there!! Your walking is definitely easier than ours, I wouldn’t mind that!
Such beautiful winter captures!
Happy Valentines Day!!

Oh my snowy goodness, we’d be closed forever! Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us!
wow … we thought ole man winter is tired, but he is still powerful…. Happy Valentines Day to you LUke and to your furmily
He’s definitely alive and well here. LOL
Hi Luke. Are you enjoying all that snow. Let me tell you about our weather. It’s been wonderful here. The sun has been shining every day and it’s warm midday into the early evening. It’s cold at night though.
Have a woof woof day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥
Luke loves the snow, except for if it’s below 20 degrees out. Then it just makes his paws too cold!
We’ve had a great week with a snowstorm and super cold temps, -18 this morning without the windchill. It has been great, but now that dang warm weather is headed back. Just not a good winter because of all the ups and downs but we enjoy it when we get good days like this week. Happy Valentines Day!
I really wish we could embrace the cold like you do! We need it to be above freezing to really enjoy being out there. 🙂
You are so lucky to get snow, Luke, and it’s so pretty! All we’re getting is rain, rain, rain.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
There’s nothing good about rain! We hope you get some snow soon!
