Leaves, leaves, and more leaves! This week’s theme for the #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge is “Fall“. Our fall colors are gone by and all we are left with is leaves that seem to never stop falling to the ground.

It would be nice if each type of tree dropped their leaves all at the same time. I think I’ve raked leaves at least 4 or 5 times this fall. Luckily it’s only certain parts of our large yard that collect them, I don’t rake outside of the fenced in yard until spring. Those of you that might have a fenced in yard know just why you have to keep the leaves raked. If you’re out cleaning the poop up in the yard, it’s hard to find in the leaves; if you don’t find it with the pooper scooper you end up finding it with the bottom of your shoe!
Now for the real reason Cricket is barking in the above photo (and why her tongue is dirty below), see if you can spot it in the leaves (you have to have a really good eye, and it’s easier to spot in the first photo).

I get to multi-task when I’m raking; Cricket frequently comes and deposits her ball right in the middle of the leaf pile!

Adorable! Looks like even Cricket needed a little help finding the ball.
Yes she did! I had to dig it out of the leaves several times (and then re-rake my pile again of course!).
Oooh yeah, dog poo. We used to leave the leaves as mulch but we didn’t have a dog.
She’s keeping your throwing arm warmed up. 🙂
That’s for sure! 🙂
Looks like the dogs were having fun, and making sure you had some playtime while raking leaves.
I guess it makes the tedium of raking leaves a little less (but it makes it take much longer too…LOL).
I can’t find it, but I bet there is a ball in there…
You would win that bet! 🙂
We bet the dogs love playing in all those leaves.
Don’t remind me – I’ve got to rake tomorrow! Ugh….
Cute photos – looks like you all had fun.
A-roo to you, Miss Cricket.
Finally, someone who speaks my language! xo Cricket
We figured that these were some of those trick pictures where if you stare at them long enough, they turn into something else. They didn’t do that, and we never saw he pink ball. At the dogs had fun. Old or new, it doesn’t matter. We all want the same thing and continue to pray for it every year. #BlogBlast4Peace. We are praying for peace as well!
I can’t even count any more the # of times one of us has brought poop in the house on the bottom of our shoes. That’s why I now try to clean up after the girls almost as soon as they finish doing their business. Especially now because we’ve had so much rain since the leaves started falling that everything is too wet to rake up, never mind use the leaf blower on.
That is the best way to do it, just clean up right after them. But our dogs go in and out so much it’s impossible to keep up with when they’re going!
Mr. N loves playing in the leaves. We live in a condo though so we don’t have to rake!
I saw a headline on Facebook yesterday… something about leaving the leaves be because it’s good for butterflies somehow. (I confess I didn’t read it, since we don’t have leaves, but maybe you could use that as a reason to skip picking up the leaves from now on? Although I imagine it’s a big mess if you never pick them up!)
Cricket’s so funny. Don’t you wonder how dogs can stand to have dirt on their tongues?? 🙂
Leaves are actually very good for soil too. Some years when I rake them up I put them on my gardens. But they’re also a place where insects like fleas and ticks can gather, so that’s the other reason we keep them cleaned up.
Cricket is so focused on the ball, I don’t think she even knows she has dirt on her tongue! 🙂
you are a good singer!

This is the time of year that I wish the boy’s poop was fluorescent! LOL! We used to rake our leaves and would have almost 100 bags. UGH Now, we mow them every few weeks and leave it as mulch. No more raking. ☺
That is the way to do it! My hubby doesn’t like mowing much, so if the grass isn’t still growing he’s going to skip it. I did get him to do it one time though so I had a break!
You’re so right about finding that camouflaged poop among the leaves! Much better to find a pink ball, lol!
We love to play in the leaf piles, so many good smells in there. Nice fall pics.
Awesome shots! Rae thinks every falling leaf is a new toy for her to catch. 🙂
Hahahahaha!!! Don’t I know it!!! LEAVES EVERYWHERE!!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
They love to help don’t they? Our leaves all get blown in.
The leaves are never ending!! So funny how they bury the ball in the leaves. Cocoa can’t be off leash so I can’t bring her out with me while I rake. I wish I could because she does love to run in them on our walks.
Multi tasking is good, right? Cute photos!
hahaha silly leaves! I love the colors of leaves but hate the clean up. so i have no trees.
They sure like keeping you busy I guess. Somedays I wish we had big trees out back, then I think harder and am thankful we dont.
Dogs just think that raking leaves if playing! Loved the pictures too. Love Dolly
yes… enough with the leaves already… my mom is with you… butt I say leave all that leaves for me :o)
LOL Cricket is just trying to help.
