Last year Pamela at Something Wagging This Way Comes started this blog hop, and this year it is co-hosted by Pup Fan of I Still Want More Puppies. Those that choose to participate get paired up with another blogger, and share encouragement and blog love. Last year I was paired up with someone new to me (Maggie from Oh My Dog), and it was great, I made a new friend and we still follow each other’s blogs to this date. This year I was paired up with someone I already knew and followed: Jackie from Pooch Smooches.
One of the things I love about Jackie is her writing talent. She has two successful novels, both of which I loved and wrote reviews on.
As you can see, both books involve dogs. They are wonderful and entertaining and Jackie’s dry sense of humor shows through in both. Which brings me to the second thing I love about her: her sense of humor. It shows through in her books and it certainly shows through in her blog. For example, read her post “Human Shaming: Rita’s Revenge”. Written from her dog Rita’s perspective, it is a hysterical take on the “Dog Shaming” photos we all see on Facebook.

Jackie has a beautiful beagle mix dog named Rita. She actually started her blog to document her and her husband’s struggles with their puppy Abby’s diagnosis of bone cancer. Abby only lived until 2 1/2 years old but they gave her a wonderful, active life even as a tri-pawed dog. Even with that tragedy, that did not stop them from opening up their home to rescue Rita.

Jackie and I have discovered that we have a lot in common….(we may even have been separated at birth!). This went to the point where her blog gift to me actually spoke to that subject, and I was also planning the same thing for her! Her post went up yesterday as I was planning mine. You can read it here. This is one of the best gifts I will receive this Christmas.
Some of the things we have in common:
We both love beagles. I have two beagles, and she has a beagle mix. She also had a beagle named Bailey before Abby. How much do these cuties all look alike?

We both share a love of the outdoors and nature. We enjoy walking our dogs. The only difference might be that we have different views this time of year when we walk:

We both love ice cream. Sure, I know, a lot of people love ice cream. But she especially loves peppermint ice cream, one of my favorites. She even recently wrote about it on her Meet the Bloggers post.
We both care a lot about our pets’ health, and feeding them quality treats. Jackie recently reviewed the same high quality treats that I did!
Which brings me to another of my favorite things about Jackie, her kindness and generosity. She and I have one other thing in common, we have both lost dogs to cancer. She joined with some other bloggers to start a blog hop on that subject:
Her first post for the hop was “8 Ways We Try To Prevent Cancer”. This was a great post sharing things that she and her husband do to try to keep Rita healthy and cancer-free, and it is a great help to anyone that would like to do the same. Not only that, but she has been giving 10% of the proceeds from her book Rescue Me, Maybe to Morris Animal Foundation, a non-profit known for it’s cancer research in animals.
Give Jackie’s blog a try if you haven’t already. From her Not-So-Wordless Wednesdays (a running joke with her that always makes me laugh), to her Monday Mischief posts like “Flea Infestation Turned Inspiration“, I promise she will make you laugh!

Sad to hear about Rita, at least they gave her a good life. Thanks for reviewing their blog!
Rita is their current dog, and is doing great! But she did lose her last two, Bailey and Abby, to cancer. 🙁
What a fabulous gift in the Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange. Looks like you and Jackie made a great pairing. 🙂
Thank you, Pamela. I really do think we were a perfect match, I’m so glad I joined in again this year!
Wow – you two were a perfect match, and it was obviously meant to be. Loved your post, and so glad that you participated in the gift exchange this year.
Also, I firmly believe that one can never have enough Pooch Smooches (or pooch smooches). 🙂
I totally agree….both kinds of pooch smooches are great!!
We really were a perfect match, so I’m really glad I joined in this year!
Jackie has a great blog and bwahaha on the view comparison.
Yes, I think we both know who is on the better end of that. 🙂
Wonderful post about Jackie’s blog! I read hers yesterday and thought it was pretty awesome also. What a great match-up!
Thank you, Ann. I do think we were perfectly matched this year!

Cute post! We read hers yesterday 🙂 love the pic of Abby with antlers.
Thank you, Emma! That really was a cute photo of Abby, and seemed appropriate for this time of year!
Oh, dear sister of mine… (I already have 4, so what’s one more?) 🙂
Thank you so much for this lovely post! So funny that we have so much in common that we even wrote similar posts… But I suppose that was inevitable!
I had to laugh at our contrasting views from our walks. 🙂
This is most definitely going to be one of the best gifts I’ll get this Christmas, too!!!!
Thanks again! And thank you to Pamela and AJ for hosting this lovely gift exchange! it’s the best!
You are so welcome, Sis! 🙂
I definitely prefer your view over mine!
