Conrad and I had to demand our chance to sample some treats this month, and Momz said yes! Then she also said I could write the review since I did so well on my book reviews a while back.
Of course, Momz got to choose the treats, and you know how celebrity obsessed she is….so again she chose based on that. She chose the Halo Healthsome treats because that company is co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres, who is not only funny but is also an animal advocate. So I guess that’s OK.
The other good thing about Halo is that they take a holistic approach to their pet foods. They believe that good nutrition is essential to the overall well being of cats and dogs. They use premium ingredients in their food and treats, nothing artificial, and they provide the necessary nutrients for good health. Plus they are made in the USA and have never had a recall! They also donate food to shelters and have a pet foundation that helps pets and their families through education and donations to worthy causes.
As always, we were all impressed with how quickly our treats got here from Chewy.com. Momz opened up the bag and couldn’t believe that they smelled like real seafood! Poor Momz…she’s allergic to shellfish so all she can ever do is smell it! Sorry, Momz.
Much to my surprise, Momz was going to make me work for these treats! I couldn’t get into the bag myself, so she gave me a couple to try, and then what does she do? Brings out this thing:

I guess Momz saw this on another blog (thanks a lot, Maggie from Oh My Dog!) We have fancy treat games, so I don’t know why she felt compelled to make this silly thing. She put the treats in there. At first I let her think I had no interest, I made her work for it a bit too….hee hee. She had to take one roll out so I could see what was in there.
OK, I guess that was kind of fun….and these treats are so good it was worth it!

Again, I made Momz feel bad so she pulled the t.p. rolls out and let me get the rest of the treats out.
After all, look what Conrad had to do to get his treats…..what? Nothing!! Momz put them in a bowl for him! He gets special treatment because he’s OLD. She just better remember that when I’M OLD too! Oh, and Momz? Save your silly games for Luke….puppies appreciate that sort of thing more!
Thank you to Chewy.com for sending us this bag of treats to review….they are yummy! Conrad also approved. Are you familiar with Chewy.com? They have a large selection of products, over 300 brands. Shipping is free if you spend over $49, and their customer service is available 24/7.
By the way, Chewy knows what boxes are really for, not silly treat games, but this:

I’m glad to see you got your own review Sam and you did a great job with it too. It’s only fair that you and Conrad should reap some benefits of blogging too!
Thank you, Jodi! It’s so true….why should the dogs get all the fun and glory? Especially since Conrad and I were here first!
And you even got the box they came in to play with!
That’s one of the best parts!! I like to sleep in the boxes too!
I am glad you two got to do your own review and to sample your own treats! Good job you deserved it! Love Dolly
Thank you, Dolly!! It was fun and I hope we get to do it again.
Love, Sam
What a fun game! I wish my kitty would eat treats so we could play fun games and try new treats. She is a cat-in-the-mud….lol.
LOL….we’ve had cats like that before too, that didn’t like treats. At the other extreme, we’ve had cats that would eat popcorn and all kinds of other human foods!
Oh, agree with Ann that this was just too funny! Sam, you are just a riot to hear from! And love that the treats are associated with Ellen, love her, and she is so funny too-must be Sam watches her shows! And of course the best that the treats are made in the USA, with no artificial ingredients, etc, healthy and all that good stuff!! Great, Nina wants some now!
Nina would love them, Auntie Lynn, you should get her some!! I am so glad you enjoyed my review….I’m getting pretty good, aren’t I? But I can’t reveal what TV I watch during the day when the Momz and Dadz are at work…MOL!
Love, Sam
LOVE it! it’s like a ping pong version for dogs 🙂 We also got cat treats … Sugar was not happy to deliver it to her cat friends. Will share it later this month. Yay! for Conrad working for his treats. Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
Thanks, Sugar! It’s not easy for the dogs to share…but we know they get plenty of their own! 🙂
What a great review you did there. Love the game, sorry you had to work for your treats.
Thank you! It is pretty rough around here, having to work hard all the time….well, maybe not. 🙂
Haha! That’s so funny that you got your mom to do it for you! My poor Newt… I fill all the slots then leave her to it!
Well, now I’m thinking if I just left her alone with it, she would have had to figure it out for herself!

What a cute game!
I really am going to try it with Luke, but knowing that he will probably eat all the tp rolls….lol
Cute pictures, what a great game idea! I am also allergic to shellfish, and it stinks.
Thank you! The worst part for me is that I used to be able to eat it….so I know just how good lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams….etc…..are! Was it that way for you or have you always been allergic? I hope you didn’t have any scary visits to the ER which I’ve heard others have had (I did not).
Great review Samantha, very thoughtful and thorough. That was kind of a nasty trick by mom wasn’t it!
Thank you, SlimDoggy! It was a nasty trick…thanks for understanding!
Love, Sam
Oh Samantha you have the best reviews! 😉 MOL! This was too funny. I did have some of those Halo cat treats before, but gave them away since I didn’t have a kitty to eat them up.
Aw, thank you, Ann! Maybe I’ve found my calling! If you ever have any treats you’re looking to get rid of again, feel free to send them my and Conrad’s way! MOL
Love, Sam
A cat having to work for their treats?! WTM?? I think that falls under the kitty labor law, you need to check into that. MOL!!
Oh, I think you’re right, and it might be discrimination too, because the dogs also didn’t have to work for theirs! Thanks for the tip, I’m going to look right into that!
Love, Sam
What a great review. My dogs love the Halo brand dog treats, but I haven’t tried the cat treats. Definitely going to check them out. Thanks!
Thank you! We will have to look into trying some of their dog products now too, it seems like they are a good company with good quality products.
I just LOVE Halo crackers!! I am so glad you finally got some treats delivered from Chewy.com that weren’t dog treats! Everyone deserves to be a taste-tester!
Happy Tasty Tuesday,
Oz
Thanks, Oz! We do like to try to spread the jobs around here….the dogs can’t get all of the good ones!
I did not know Halo was co owned by Ellen?! Thats great!
They look tasty! We have never tried Halo treats, but my kitties have had their wet food and the love it! Great review and what a neat idea for the treat game! I will have to try that as well! haha!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
The game is fun, and you can’t beat the price!! 🙂
We’ll have to look into trying some of the other Halo products now too.
Thanks!!
I’m so sorry for you dogs having to sit out a month for felines! I can only imagine the pain and embarrassment. I will not let my cats know about this! Mom does like that food maze idea for cat bro Bert. He is a speed gulper and that would slow him down for sure! At least you kitties enjoyed the treats and wrote a nice post!
Well, yes, there has been a lot of grumbling from the dogs lately! It’s OK, we’ll get back to them next month. Bert would probably enjoy the game, and it would definitely slow him down eating. I’m sure Mom will be getting it out again for me too….
Thanks, Emma for saying we wrote a nice post anyway, I know how you dogs like to stick together.
Love, Sam
