Just after Thanksgiving I shared the first photos of our newly finished porch, and we’ve been waiting since then for our new furniture! A couple of weeks ago I showed how the porch has become my “weekend office” and that the dogs like to lounge on the futon, or nap there with their Dad.
Just before Christmas we finally got the rest of our furniture delivered….a lovely side table and a chair with ottoman, both handmade by the Amish. Since my hubby already enjoyed napping on the futon, I was kind of thinking of the new chair as being mine. Apparently I should have had them engrave my name on it, if I wanted to claim it as my own…..we barely got it arranged where we wanted it to start with when this happened:
Maybe I could sit on the ottoman? Nope……
The futon is still a favorite as well (it’s the same futon with a new cover on the mattress to match the chair), a perfect play area….
….as well as a route to someplace else (note the beagle butt to the right).

Luckily for me, they are at least willing to share!
We usually leave our Christmas tree up right through New Year’s, but we were anxious to get the porch arranged the way we wanted it, and here is the final result:
Notice that there is a dog bed on the floor….it remains to be seen if anyone actually uses it!

That came out really nice. I love the new furniture and it looks like your gang does too. 🙂
Thank you! It definitely is a popular place….though, really, the dogs are usually wherever we are.
This post made me laugh out loud. It’s the universal situation that everyone who loves dogs understands.
BTW, the porch looks lovely with the new furniture. And the chair leaves the perfect place for Luke’s tail to poke through the arm supports.
I’m not sure why I ever expected anything else?
Thank you. That feature on the chair was not something I planned on, but Luke is sure happy it happened accidentally. 🙂
You done great, the porch looks wonderful. Love the picture of Cricket on the table! The furniture is really nice.
Thank you….I just love the cabin/rustic style of the furniture. I don’t know where that Cricket thinks she is going, but she actually did go right through the window into the dining room one time (I swear she’s part cat!).
Shasta agrees with your pack and their choice of where to rest!! Love the furniture!
Thank you!! The dogs certainly seem to know what they’re doing. 🙂
Perfect windows for the pets too, so nice and low. Enjoy!
I told my hubby if we were going to finish the porch that I wanted to be sure that we could all still see out into the yard. That was the deal and he stuck to it. I’ve already seen Luke just sitting there looking out!
What a perfect dog’s room! Love Dolly
I think they put up a sign that says “No Cats” too. BOL!
Oh wow it looks great!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thanks, Jenna! We’re so excited to finally have it complete!
It looks awesome, what a beautiful place to curl up with a puppy (or three) and read a book, or write a post or take a nap. The chair looks like it might be over-sized so that would help~
There is definitely room in the chair for two….which definitely helps (as long as the human gets there first….LOL).
It’s perfect for sipping a glass of wine too. 🙂
Looks great!
Thank you! We are so thrilled to finally have it finished (it took forever due to some contractor issues).
I love this chair and if we had it in my house, it would be occupied by me immediately :o)
You are a smart dog, Easy!
love the new work space/porch and apparently the dogs do too! Good luck with them using the dog bed!
It’s a great place to work! Luckily for the dogs I spend more time at my computer than lounging around….so they can do the lounging!
Looks furry cozy! Wooooowooooooooo!
It sure is, thanks, Ku!
Wow! It’s beautiful!! Wishing you all many happy moments spent on (?) the new porch!! The furniture definitely belongs to the dogs; but I’m sure they will share the dog bed with you and your hubby. LOL
Ha ha, that was a good one! Luckily it hasn’t come to that yet (the hubby and I using the dog bed).
Thank you….we plan to spend a lot of time out there, year round now (it was just a summer screen porch to start with).
Looks great….now you know, you gotta call dibs on it the new stuff!
Thanks, and you are so right, I’ll have to remember that next time! 🙂
What a beautiful house! I love that cabin-like feel! And beautiful dogs!
Thank you, Jessica, and thank you for coming by and sharing it with us! I love that it feels like we’re in a cabin too.
I love that room, what a beautiful place to be inspired to write JanK. PAWhaps they were just testing out the furniture for you – getting it all broken in – sort off.
I think that’s a good point…..I’m sure they were just breaking it in for me! We love the outdoors, and this is the next best thing to being out there.
It’s beautiful furniture. Who knew that dogs were such aesthetics?
I know, right? Thank you….we love the rustic look and it seems perfect for a porch.
LOL…a dog bed on the floor hahaha. The porch looks great and I bet you ALL get lots of use out of it.
The dog bed was worth a try, right? LOL This is going to be a favorite place for sure.
