It’s been a busy few days, and I’ll be playing catch-up for the next few! We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving dinner, and then I had two days of shopping fun with the girls. It was good to get home Saturday night though and Sunday was spent starting to catch up on everything and get organized for the week.
I wanted to get around to everyone’s sites and say Happy Thanksgiving , but when we got home from Thanksgiving dinner we found out the snow storms in our state had caused internet problems, and even though we were lucky not to lose power, our internet was out. Thank goodness my post for Friday was already written so I could publish it from my phone! The internet never did come back on until Saturday morning.
On top of that, when the dogs came outside when we got home from dinner Thursday, they all went romping through the snow, and then Luke came back to me holding one of his rear legs up in the air. He tried to go up the stairs and couldn’t, and then yelped once. I had him just sit and be quiet for a minute and next thing I knew he went up the stairs and seemed fine. However, in the middle of the night he was up more than once moving around and holding the leg up again. He’s been doing that off and on ever since. So we’re trying to keep him quiet – not easy with a one year old pup (and a sister who is just dying to play fetch in the snow every day), and we may end up at the vet’s this week. I’m trying really hard not to worry too much. When he plays and runs he does it hard and at 110% so I’m surprised he hasn’t hurt himself before now.
I had so much fun shopping with the girls, but we’re usually pretty tired by the time we sit down for dinner on Saturday early evening before heading home. I wonder, while I was out walking miles and shopping hard for everyone, is this all that was going on at home?
Just kidding, I know my hubby was busy with projects of his own, and I always appreciate that he doesn’t mind me going away while he stays home and cares for the household. I really just wanted to show some pictures of our new porch…it’s not quite finished yet, and I’ll share more once we have the new furniture out there.

Oh I so hope that Lukes leg is ok and nothing wrong and no trip to the vet. Rest, rest, rest.
Yeah, tell that rest thing to a one year old pup! BOL
I hope Luke’s leg is better soon. We are also dog tired (Ha,ha!) after our weekend shopping expedition! Hope you got some good stuff.
I did get some good stuff, but I never finish my shopping on the trip…so now I have a little more local and/or online shopping to do!
I am still catching up after our week’s vacation. I always think I might be able to visit blogs when we are gone, but the 3G at the cabin is so terrible it doesn’t work. Normally I can get one picture to upload to Instagram but if I want to see any comments on it…no go.
Hope Luke is ok. Maybe a broken nail? Our dogs lift their legs when that happens.
The best I can do when I’m away is keep up with checking emails, and that’s about it! The motels all advertise WIFI, but it never seems to work that great.
As far as I can tell, Luke’s nails are all OK. He doesn’t really like me looking at his paws too closely though, which does not help!
Sorry to hear Luke has a leg/paw problem of some sort but let’s hope it’s nothing serious and he’s better soon! We move from one busy holiday to the next so quickly – Christmas is just about here and there’s more than ever to do!!!! Love the porch….looking great!
Hugs, Sammy and Mom Pam
Thanks – we are really loving our porch too!
I know, it’s such a crazy time….once Thanksgiving is over Christmas seems to come very quickly!
Hopefully Luke just sprained something or bruised a paw on a hard chunk of snow/ice. Other than that it looks like there’s not much post-Thanksgiving mischief going on with your snuggled-in crew.
And we like it that way! LOL
We can’t see anything visibly wrong with Luke’s leg or paw, Hopefully it’s just as you said. He’ll be off to the vet today and we hope to have some answers.
Poor Luke. Hope his limp is nothing serious.
When it’s our pups, we often go rushing off to the vet because they can’t tell us what’s happening. But when I’m limping I usually (heck, always; I haven’t been to a doctor in 25 years) treat myself.
If only dogs could talk. We’d save hundreds in vet bills every year. 🙂
Yes, if only they could talk! It’s hard for me to find the balance of when to run to the vet and when to wait things out. It’s been a few days with this now though, so I called the vet and he is going to see Luke today.
I’m with you….I only go to the doctor when I absolutely have to! It’s only been 2 years for me though…wish I could make it 25!
Good to get back into the swing of things after a break. Nothing like an internet outage to make you spend a few extra precious moments with the family! Hope all is well with Luke!
There are some good things about an internet outage! We’ll hopefully find out what is going on with Luke today.
I am so happy that you got a chance to “do you” Remember the best thing about catching up is you can take your time – the stuff’s not going anywhere!
So true….I will try to keep that in mind, and not get overwhelmed!
Glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving but we sure hope Luke is okay.
Thank you! He’s going to the vet today, so we’ll find out what’s going on with him.
Sounds like a great week at your place! Except for Luke, I hope he’ll be okay. I injured my shoulder one time and it flares back up really easy. Love Dolly
It was a great week other than Luke’s issue. I hope he isn’t starting with something at such a young age that is going to persist. Fingers crossed.
Hope Luke is OK. Mr. N walked into a wall and got trampled last week but he’s fine thankfully.
I’m glad Mr. N is OK. Luke gets around fine most of the time, and doesn’t seem to be in a lot of pain. But the off and on holding the leg up persists, so he’s off to the vet today!
Glad you had a nice holiday weekend. Catching up is always a tough job, tough.
Thanks, Emma! You are so right, catching up is really tough. I have to tell myself to just keep plugging away…..
Feel better Luke!
Thank you!!
Luke I hope you feel better soon. We boys are sometimes a little over the top, huh? Glad you had a good time, shopping is a good way to relax too (even when my dad screams NOOOOO now)
You boys definitely are over the top!
I know the Dads don’t like to see the Moms headed out the door with cash and credit cards…..but it is definitely therapeutic for the Moms!
Aw Luke! poor pup!!!!
I will be heading over to Kols now!! BOL!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Good luck in the giveaways, Jenna, don’t forget to keep coming back for more! 🙂
I hope Luke is OK. What a hectic weekend you have, better take it easy for a while.
Yes, maybe Luke and I should both take it easy together for a while! 🙂
Poor Luke – that sucks hurting yourself. Hope he’s okay.
It sure does suck. It doesn’t slow him down much though, which may be part of the problem!
Awww, we hope Luke is doing ok! Mom says we go 100 miles an hour in the snow and that happens to us from time to time. Rest up!!
I’m glad to hear that, it gives me hope that some rest will clear things up! Thanks!
