We were so excited to find out that we won this cool Puller toy from our friends Ann and Shiner at Pawsitively Pets, in a recent giveaway they had. We’ve had the toy for a while, but because of Luke’s knee and exercise restrictions we had to put it away for a while. Luke is our chief tester of new toys!
The Puller comes in sets of 2 rings, and I love that it’s made of non-toxic material and is safe for dogs’ teeth. It’s lightweight and floats in the water, though it will be a while before we’ll be able to put that to the test. It does, however, skim over the snow pretty well, and rolls on it’s side too!
It comes in sets so that you can teach your dog to play fetch with it. I’ve mostly just used one because Luke gets focused on one, and if I throw the other to distract him, or try to trade, he just ignores it. But that’s OK, he had a lot of fun with it, and got lots of exercise chasing it and playing. He even let me play tug a little bit.
Sheba got in on the action too and they had fun playing tug of war. Luke will give you a full demo of all the fun in the photos below. You may wonder why you don’t see our beagle Cricket. Cricket is pretty much a one toy dog, and she plays exclusively with balls (West Paw Jive). You may get her to play with a flying disc or other toy, but only if there is not a Jive to be found! It works well for us, because I can be playing different games with each dog and that makes it more fun for me too.

Who do you think won that round of tug?
Are you surprised that the 10 year old lady won? Luke wasn’t about to give up without a fight though, and pulled out his favorite weapon of chewing on Sheba’s face!
Sheba went back to playing ball with her sister, and Luke was left to play by himself, which is no problem. Here he demonstrates all the fun of chasing and pouncing on it…..
…..and here all the fun ways to run with it!
This is definitely a toy that requires supervision with our crew though. As with anything else, eventually they want to just sit and chew on it. I then take it away. It’s full of teeth marks, since it’s soft, but is still holding up fine after a few sessions of play with it.
Oh, remember how I like to brag that Luke’s trainer told us how smart he is? He kept getting his paw stuck in the toy like this, and had trouble getting it out. Well, he’s smart in some ways anyway! 🙂
*Disclaimer: We were in no way compensated for this post. We just won the toy and wanted to share the fun that was had with it.

I saw that on Ann’s site (I was a little tardy for the contest pawty) and I thought it was a fabulous toy. I have it on my list of things to look at for the spring. Thanks for a pawsome post. It reinforced my desires to get a set for Harley.
You’re welcome! I think it’s a toy Harley will enjoy, so I hope you get a chance to get one for him.
Looks like they had a blast and that toy looks perfect for snow play. Silly Luke. 🙂
He is our silly boy! They really did have fun and the toy is great in the snow!
That looks like such fun! My boys will never play tug with each other. That would free up some playtime for me! BOL!
There have been times, mostly inside the house, when I’ve tried to get them to play tug with each other, and they don’t always cooperate. But I definitely enjoy the break when they do!
Wow! How lucky are you to have family that will tug with you. Mom and Dad will but Harley is too cool and will only tug with his BFF’s Meera and Laila. He is always leaving me out of cool stuff!
Oh, big brothers can be so mean sometimes! Maybe one day Harley will play tug with you too. I can only play tug so much with the dogs, because they are way stronger than I am! 🙂
That sure looks like a fun toy! Luke was having fun with it.
Yes, he sure was!
That toy looks like a lot of fun for dogs who are into tug! Mr. N just likes “killing” all the soft squeakies.
I sometimes have to coax those two to play tug with it….they prefer to just hog toys to themselves for the most part!
ohhh, that looks like a great snow toy! Do you think you pups would let you play doggie ring toss? Toss the dog over their head to land on them like a necklace?? hehe!
Ha ha, that’s a good one, Diane! I’m thinking that would be a pretty good challenge for me!
I entered that giveaway too BOL! Those look like so much fun!
Love the action shots!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Thanks! I bet your gang could have some fun with this toy!
love love love all the photos, they look like my photos, my dogs love the puller and have so much fun with it. It’s one of the only toys they play with outside. Ours gets a lot of play time and has held up very nicely besides all the teeth marks. Great fun!
Thank you! It was fun to get all the photos showing all the different ways this toy can be played with! It definitely seems to be a favorite outside toy with lots of dogs.
That definitely looks like a ton of fun! Barley really only wants to play with stuffed toys, so I don’t know that I could get her excited about that toy, but it looks like an excellent snow day toy! Luke is not alone at being a smart dog that sometimes has klutzy moments–Barley does things like that all the time!
I’m glad Luke is not alone in being klutzy! It really was kind of funny and cute though!
Some dogs are fixated on only certain types of toys, like Cricket and her balls. She’ll occasionally play with other things like stuffies, but not very often.
oh I like that pull-o-war… seems we need a second dog… that’s what I always say :o)
Tell your paw-rents that it would mean you could be entertained by another dog, so they don’t have to entertain you all the time, Easy! 🙂
OMD! That is sooooo cool, congrats on winning it! We’re telling mom about this right now!!! Have fun!!
It is definitely a cool toy….hope you can enter and win one, Miley!
Looks like a pretty durable toy.
Anything that holds up to this crew for more than one play session is a bonus! 🙂
Haha…Luke – Jack is that kind of smart too 😉 That toy looks like fun and easier to deal with than a frisbee.
I’m glad it’s not just Luke…maybe it’s a Lab thing? 🙂
You don’t need the wrist action to throw this thing, which works for me….I’ve never been good at throwing a Frisbee.
Mom loves it when we workout together without a human. Bailie and Katie sometimes play tug a war, but Bailie often lets Katie win. Some kind of be kind to seniors thing I’m guessing! Looks like you all really enjoy the puller! Thanks for joining the hop!
Hmmm…that makes me wonder if Luke is letting Sheba win? I don’t know, Sheba really is a tough old girl and seems to be able to hold her own with him!
Now, if I could just teach Cricket to play ball by herself….that would be the ultimate. JK, it’s good exercise for me to get out there and play ball, and keeps me in the fresh air too!
