Our pretty and happy girl out on a walk recently.
What isn’t pretty and doesn’t make the Momz happy is when we get home to find these little burr-like things stuck in Sheba’s fur. Has anyone else seen these, and do you know what these are or what kind of bush they come off of? Every fall she gets covered in them at some point, and we have to pick and brush them out. Then we still find them around the house all week!
Happy Black and White Sunday and enjoy your day!
Thank you to Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever for hosting the Black & White Sunday blog hop.
Nasty things. That is one good thing about Chessies, they really don’t get burrs. Our Golden used to get tons of them.
We’re definitely glad to only have one long haired dog!
You are a very pretty girl, I hate those burrs toooooooo!
Thank you!!!
Those regularly get stuck in my girl’s fur. No fun.
They are definitely no fun at all.
We’ve never seen those before either, thank goodness!
You’re lucky then! 🙂
I have never seen those!
Hope you never do….and you sure wouldn’t miss them on your dogs!
I haven’t seen that kind but everything sticks to Mr. N’s fur.
The joys of long haired dogs! 🙂
We thought we had every kind of annoying seen and burr around here but we have not seen that one.
Lucky you, and I’m sure you don’t need another one!
Even a Golden is beautiful in Black & White! I don’t know what those prickly seeds are but you might be able to do a little detective work on your usual walking path and find out where they’re coming from.
Sheba thanks you! I was thinking I had actually found them in our own yard last year, but I can’t remember what they came off. This year we trimmed better though so don’t have any in the yard.
Yikes! on those little things. It must be from a bush … do you walk on a grassy area? Sometimes, some small leaves gets stuck on Sugar too. Have a great Sunday. Golden Woofs
They are mostly dirt trails…but Sheba likes to wander off to the sides into the brush! She’s been collecting leaves as well this fall, but at least those are easier to remove. 🙂
Ugh! Tucker used to get catch ’ems and snag ’ems in his long leg hair. I always trimmed it to try to keep it from grabbing everything. Pierre gets all matter of the great outdoors stuck on his fur. Tell Sheba she is not alone. ♥
She’s glad to know she’s not alone! I try to keep her fur trimmed but barring shaving her I think it only helps so much…LOL.
Beautiful picture! But the sticker things don’t look like fun and we’ve never seen them, which is good. Love Dolly
Thank you, Dolly! That definitely is a good thing you haven’t seen those!
Bailie and I get so much stuff in our fur year round, it is hard to say if we have had those or not. Anything stuck in our fur is a mess!
I can imagine that your fur is even more difficult than Sheba’s to get things out of!
I’m like Caren — have never seen those burrs before. Just the round, prickly ones and acorn-sized ones.
I saw a couple of the round ones this year, but not the acorn size ones – those don’t sound like much fun either!
ohhh I hate those burrs!!! We have a lot of those around here!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I’m starting to guess they are a North Eastern thing maybe? I bet they can stick in husky fur pretty well too!
Oh yes! We hate those burrs! What bullies they are trying to mat up our pretty coats! Glad you got out for a walkie though!
There’s always something getting stuck in those pretty coats, isn’t there? They’re like magnets!
I have seen the round prickly kind of burrs but never that kind! I have no clue!
We have the round prickly ones too, but don’t see nearly as many of those!
