Our beagle Kobi was the only dog allowed to be in my vegetable garden area with me – he was our one dog calm enough to be trusted not to trample over any plants. Luke loves the garden and always wants to come in with me, but he is very good when I tell him to stay out. He still always sticks close by to keep me company. One of his favorite things to do is to lie under the forsythia bush in the shade and watch me, much like his golden retriever brother Moses used to do.
Cricket, being a typical beagle, lies out in the sun. Yesterday they had a pretty good round of playing fetch, so after a while she gave up on trying to continue the game – we stopped because it had gotten hot and I had garden work to do – and found a cool spot in the grass. Sheba was on the porch with Dad. She had a busy day which I’ll fill you in on tomorrow.
Now Luke left his shady spot and seems to want something…..I wonder if he’s really hanging around to keep me company or if there is something else on his mind.
Probably one of these little beauties. He loves his fresh fruits and veggies!
Yes, he got a few, he always does.
Don’t forget we have two giveaways going on now! The Umbilical Belt hands free leash, which ends tomorrow, and a Tuggo Dog Toy, which ends on Thursday.
Happy Black and White Sunday, and thank you to our blog hop hosts Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola. Please visit other blogs through the links below.
LOL that Luke is very crafty.
Hmmmm, interested to see what Sheba’s busy day was….?
Silly Luke, he does love his veggies doesn’t he?!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I like to take some years off from gardening, but I don’t think Luke is ever going to let me now! LOL
Luke definitely wants in the garden!
Mr. N used to come to our community garden plot with us. I wasn’t really worried about him trampling on anything. Just marking on the stakes!
Hi Y’all!
Nothing is off limits to me or the wild critters that know this is a wildlife refuge area.
Thank y’all for givin’ me feedback on the theme changes I’ve been trying at my new home. I appreciate hearing the pros and cons for you.
Y’all come on by,

My dogs love to help out in the garden. Unfortunately they love to dig up the carrots too, but I really just plant them for the dogs anyways. Great pictures.
Most of my berries and vegetables are for the dogs as well as the humans! Maybe I’ll let Luke dig up some carrots towards the end of the season…he’d have a blast!
I just started a garden and Chanel is not allowed in it nor my son lol. We’ll see how it comes along
Our dogs are refusing to come inside right now because they are busy chasing lizards in my once lovely garden. Pierre dives into my flowers every time a lizard dares to explore them. BOL!
It appears that even if not in the garden, you have some very cute supervisors:)
What great pictures its nice to see dogs that have a nice yard to enjoy and lots to do! Love Dolly
Love these photos! Barley is such a weirdo when it comes to gardens. She LOVES lettuce when I buy a mix at the store, but if I try to give her some straight from my parents’ garden she spits it out. I’m glad that Luke gets to have some garden goodies 🙂
PAWsome company. Have a relaxing Sunday. Golden Woofs
Beautiful photos! What a relaxing day and a treat.
It’s always better to have the company of dogs when working. Happy Sunday! 🙂
it was special to see you “behind the fence”… it’s great that they are nice and accept that you want no tunnels and smashed fruits :o)
Just fabulous photos, love the splash of color with the strawberries! Yum!
