It took a bit longer than anticipated, but we are finally back! I did enjoy the break, and it made it easier for me to focus on getting my shop ready for Christmas shopping season, which has started out well! It’s been keeping me quite busy, but Luke and I wanted to get a quick post up to say hello to those who have hopefully missed us!
I have lots of farm stories to tell, and things to catch up on with my longtime readers of my former blog, Wag ‘n Woof Pets. It’s been a rough year on the farm, with fall being the worst, but we persevere even through some sad events and difficulties.
The current flock is doing well, in spite of being on lockdown because of foxes in the area, and the shorter days and cold weather. Luke has been on top of his farm dog duties, in letting us know when said foxes are around so we can discourage them from hanging around. I wrote about this relationship he has with the birds in a past post “Farm Life – Taking Care of Each Other”.
Egg production is way down, however, because of all the factors above, as well as the birds going through their molt. We’ll write more about that when we get back to a regular schedule – still working on that!
Right now, I’m keeping this short, while I’m still making sure everything is working as it should on the new website! There are some kinks I’m still working on, but overall everything went well (thanks to Jessica Shipman for doing all the hard work!). First order of business was hoping this post would go out to everyone who is currently subscribed to our Wag ‘n Woof Pets email list!
Let me know in the comments below how you saw this post, whether by receiving it in email or from social media. We’ll leave you with a couple photos of the flock when they were still free-ranging and of Luke on a recent walk.

We’ll be back with more soon!
Awe the flock looks great and Luke is handsome as ever!! Glad to see you are all doing well 🙂 We hope you have a Very Merry Christmas!!
xoxo,
Matt, Matilda & Mama
We had a lovely, quiet and relaxing day at home, just hubby and I and Luke. The flock was able to be out happily playing in the rain!
We hope you had a very Merry Christmas as well!
xoxo
Welcome back! We miss you so much!
Thank you, Norman!

Thank you, Melissa! xo
We did miss you and your farm stories, and not the least, Luke and his doings. Good thing he can warn you of those rascal foxes…I guess they are hungry…LOL!
We saw you had posted with an email notice…hooray, its working!
Thank you so much!! Yeah, those darn foxes are hungry all right, but there’s plenty of squirrels around for them to eat! 🙂
I received the notification by email of this post-yay!! So glad you are back, but also glad you enjoyed the break! Missed you for sure, Luke! Hugs to all, welcome back!
Thank you, Auntie Lynn! ♥
Aww, sweet adorable Luke! Your post arrived via email (as it did before). Kudos for surviving the relaunch. Very well done!
Thank you! I didn’t have to do much (thankfully) but wait! 🙂 Now to get caught up on everything else (is that possible?)!
Was glad to receive your email today! Love reading about the doings on the farm and the new shop. And, of course, we missed Luke!
Thank you so much, Sabrina! Luke sends a big smooch! ♥
Received your email this morning – what a happy surprise! I am so glad you are back. Yes Luke I sure did miss you and the birds! Jan, I hope you do super well this Christmas season with the shop. It’s the type of store I like to browse through (and of course buy goodies!)
Thank you so much, Susan! I wish you could come to my shop! 🙂 I’m going to get to work on more photos to share, I had fun decorating for the Christmas season.
Oh how wonderful to see you, Luke. You know how much I love you.
I’m glad all is going well.
Have a fabulous day, my friend. Smooches to Luke. ♥
Thank you, and Luke sends lots of smooches right back! ♥
We’ve been missing you and Luke too. Your new blog popped right in for us. I hope that foxes keep away from those sweet birds.
We’ve got Dad on that (fox) project, I know your Dad can relate, Brian!
Of course we’ve missed you, Luke! And your Momz too! We got the email in both email accounts (cuz I haven’t switched my primary blog/email yet) so all seems to be well.
We’re looking forward to reading more posts soon! Glad to hear holiday shopping season at the shop has started well!
I’m so relieved the email part is working, I was holding my breath! 🙂
Thanks so much, Sue, I wasn’t sure what to expect with the shop….nothing is predictable this year!
Welcome back and yes we did miss you, Luke – LOTS! We have Feedly and that’s how we know that you’ve posted.
I’m glad to hear it is working through Feedly too then, thank you! Luke sends a big smooch!! ♥
Welcome back! We can’t wait to hear more about what’s going on on the farm. We subscribe via email to your blog and received notification that way.
Thanks so much for letting me know – that is such a relief! So many other little things were wrong, but the emails going out was most important to me!
Good morning. I like the new site, can’t wait to see what you have coming up.
Thank you, Mary! I hope to get our first real story up in the next week or two. 🙂
we got the post via mail and we are happy to hear from you…. a dust bath? sounds interesting… but we will probably land in the bathtub…
The birds have it good, don’t they? 🙂
So surprised to see you are up and running already! We got the post in our email just as we did with your old blog. Jessica is great. She is doing our site maintenance and did our site revamp 2 years ago. Happy Howlidays!
It seemed like it took forever to me! LOL. I still have some things that aren’t working right, but being able to write my posts and have the email notification was #1 on the list! I had issues before moving the blog anyway, so I’m not surprised there are still a few glitches now that it’s moved.
We got an e-mail notification of this post! Yes, Luke, we certainly DID miss you!
Thank you, Kat! Luke sends you a big smooch! 🙂
