We’re all pet lovers here and most of us know the pain and heartbreak of losing a beloved pet. The love and support of others gets us through these difficult times. As pet bloggers or pet blog readers, we get the joy of virtually knowing many pets and their families, and when someone has a loss, we all feel it.
Our blog friend Bev from “Down Under” and her family recently had one of those devastating losses; their beloved dog Forrest had to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge. They were blessed to have a few extra days with him to love him, spoil him, and give him many special treats before he had to leave. When two other kind and thoughtful friends decided to make a special day for Forrest, our crew wanted to join in sending special “Wags and Waves” to Forrest at the Bridge.
Bev has told us not to cry for Forrest (though of course we can’t help it), so we hope these kind of silly photos will bring a smile amongst the tears to Bev and her family as well.
Thank you to Sammy and his Mom Pam of One Spoiled Cat, and Miss Sharon from Gentle Stitches for putting this together, and inviting everyone to join that wanted to and could. You may click on the badge below to be taken to Bev’s blog, All Fur One and One Fur All, where you can see some wonderful photos of the handsome Forrest and leave a wish for his family if you’d like.

We just learned about Forrest at Easy’s. What a lovely tribute your pack did to remember him. And yes, other pet lovers do understand the loss making their support so valuable. Love Dolly

That is some excellent wagging for Forrest.
It’s so hard not to cry! There have been far too many losses and illnesses in our little blogging world lately. You gave Forrest a lovely sendoff, I’m sure he’s woofing his appreciation.

We have lost so many great friends lately. Thanks for honoring Forrest. He was such a great dog. ♥
It is amazing we never knew Forrest, we know so many furs, but Blogville is huge! No matter, it is still very sad.
Blogville really is huge, and it amazes me sometimes every time I read about someone I don’t know. It’s really impossible to know everyone, and I can barely keep up with those I do know now! It is sad when someone has a loss though, and we feel that twinge even if we didn’t know them.

As I told Monika, I wish I’d seen/learned about this tribute sooner! But maybe the girls will give me some time later to put something together for Forrest, Bev, and their family. Love to all! I love all your pix, but that one of Sheba just made me smile from ear to ear!

While Leo’s journey to the Rainbow Bridge was sudden and unexpected – I can’t even imagine having to make the decision to “help” a beloved pet over the bridge. I know it’s the best thing to do when there is no other recourse, but what a choice to have to make My heart aches overtime I hear news like this.
