We are excited to share that the full commercial for the #TheLucyBowl is now available for viewing before Super Bowl Sunday! If you have missed our previous posts about this ground breaking commercial aiming to raise awareness about pet overpopulation and the importance of spay/neuter, you can read those posts here: The Lucy Pet Foundation, and #TheLucyBowl – A House Divided.
The early release of the commercial was unexpected, but I was very excited to get a chance to see it. After viewing it, I have to say it was not what I expected! It left tears in my eyes, and the one word that came to mind to describe it is “powerful”. I hope this commercial will be shared far and wide and get the attention it deserves.
Were you as moved by this commercial as I was? All of the dogs and cats used in this commercial are rescue animals! I also still look forward to viewing it on The Hallmark Channel during the Kitten Bowl (Super Bowl Sunday, February 1st, at noon), to get the full effect of the amazing state of the art/CGI special effects.
Disclaimer: This post was brought to you in an effort to raise awareness about Lucy Pet Foundation’s upcoming ethical pet population campaign. Lucy Pet Foundation provided all images and information about the commercial, and will be entering our site into a drawing for a chance to win $500 for a 501c3 rescue of our choice! We were in no other way compensated. If you are a blogger interested in spreading the word about this campaign, while also enjoying the chance to earn a donation for your favorite rescue, contact bloggers@lucypetfoundation.org and request more information.

We sure hope so too!!
wow you described that spot on. tears in my eyes too
I still get tears every time I watch it!
It was entertaining, then hit me right in the gut. So thankful for organizations like Lucy Pet Foundation!
That describes it’s effect perfectly. I honestly didn’t see that ending coming.
It’s a pawsome commercial. Very moving!
We agree!
So glad to see such a positive commercial, they did a great job unlike others!
I totally agree….it’s good to see someone spending money to spread an important message, instead of just trying to make money.
Wish this could run during the Super Bowl so more folks would see it -but those SB slots are crazy expensive!
I wish that too, but yes, I’ve heard the Super Bowl ads can run 4-5 million dollars….that’s just crazy, isn’t it?
It is a slick ad for sure.
I found it to be very effective, with that little bit of a twist ending there.
This is such a great commercial. I am proud to be #TeamDog and I hope it makes a difference.
I hope it does as well!
The commercial was great! Unlike certain other ones, *cough*.
I hear you! I just hope this one can garner the same attention that other ones got….even without airing….
Fantastic commercial. Your right – on the big screen on the 1st it will be PAWsome. Thanks for sharing. I read an African proverb the other day: “if you want to go fast – go alone. If you want to go far – go together”
Harley and I will definitely go to the website before the 1st. Together we can go far! Take care my friend,
That is a beautiful proverb, Cathy! Thanks so much to you and Harley for your support of this wonderful foundation. xxoo
We trust you, but mom wants to see the commercials during the game, otherwise she has nothing to watch. Spoiler alert! Love Dolly
Oh, sorry, Dolly, I should have thought to put a “spoiler alert” disclaimer! Don’t forget that this commercial is airing during the Kitten Bowl though, not the actual Super Bowl (I imagine that would have been way too much money to do).
Cool commercial!
Very cool!
It’s very well done.
It really is, isn’t it?
Powerful commercial
I’m so glad you thought so too, Jim.
Yes, it is definitely a moving commercial!
So cool that they are all rescues used in this commercial too!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I know, I think it’s amazing they were able to do that. I even read that some of the stars that they rescued, they ended up adopting as well!
Thanks for sharing, we don’t get any Super Bowl stuff over here. The ad was moving and it’s great that they are using it to raise awareness of such an important issue.
I’m so glad you got a chance to see it. I hope that it gets seen by many so that their message gets across.
They did a great job with this commercial.
They really did!
