If you missed our other post about The Lucy Pet Foundation and their ground breaking TV commercial airing on Super Bowl Sunday during the Kitten Bowl, you can read all about them by clicking here. This commercial, featuring stunning visual effects, is going to be exciting and aims to raise awareness about the importance of spaying/neutering your pets, and to draw attention to the 80,000 pets euthanized in shelters each week due to overpopulation.
1. You can enter The Lucy Pet Foundation’s photo contest by sharing a photo of your own pet with their #TeamCat or #TeamDog photo via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Just include the statement: “The biggest Bowl commercial this year may be #TheLucyBowl on Kitten Bowl” along with the hashtag #TheLucyBowl and @LucyPetFdn (Twitter/Instagram) or @LucyPetFoundation (Facebook). You have a chance to win one of two iPad minis and Team jerseys, or one of four #TeamDog or #TeamCat sport packs. Digital manipulation of photos is allowed; click here for full details and other ways to enter. Hurry, you only have until February 1st!
2. Don’t miss this sneak peak commercial video teaser!

3. With a household of 3 dogs and 2 cats here at Wag ‘n Woof Pets, how are we to divide ourselves? Since the cats are outnumbered, I offered to join their team, showing this old photo of myself and my cat spirit:
What was our cat Samantha’s reply to this? “Um, Momz, what happened in the 80’s really should stay in the 80’s! I mean, the hair, really? It’s OK, I got this.” Apparently, she didn’t need my help, or even the help of her elderly feline brother, Conrad, who isn’t much into sports (unless you consider eating and sleeping sports). She got her own team together.
The dogs were not to be outdone, and had their own little scrimmage to demonstrate their spirit.
They didn’t want to be outnumbered by Sam’s team of four though, so tried to recruit the Dadz to their team. Um, he was busy….and apparently, if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.

So there you have it, we’re a house divided but there will be plenty of cheering during #TheLucyBowl! Don’t forget, it’s on Super Bowl Sunday airing during the Kitten Bowl which starts at noon on the Hallmark Channel. Hope you’ll be there too!

Haha, so cute!! And a great cause! We are of course #teamdog here. Rita would have a heart attack if we went #teamcat on her!
I could just see the expression on Rita’s face….LOL.
Awesome pictures (yes you as a cat too) love it! I would have to be on MK’s team as there is only one of her.
Ha ha, thanks….it’s been a long time since I dressed up for Halloween, and can’t believe I even remembered I had that photo!
That is great that you will join forces with MK to give her team some support!
Love this post, amusing, great job by Sam and of course the doggies-I am always team divided, dogs and cats, go team, go, for both!
We think it’s acceptable to root for both teams, though Nina might think otherwise! 🙂
Haha! I think the momz’s hair matches those cat ears perfectly! The commercial looks like it will be a good one.
I wasn’t sure if you could even see the ears through all that hair….LOL.
We’ll be sharing the full commercial tomorrow… I think you’ll like it.
MOL! We love how your mom joined in on the fun. We’re definitely #TeamCat here!!
Thanks!! You have a good size team over there for cheering!
Only team dog here!
I’m thinking Mr. N has enough energy to be his own team for sure! 🙂
We are paws down #teamdog because we are three, cats are two, and the one cat is a dog want to be!
Ha ha, that’s a good point, Emma, Bert is definitely #TeamDog!
Team dog all the way!
Go #TeamDog! Shhh…don’t tell the cats I said that…. 🙂
I simply love this. Great team spirit – all around! We love all the Super Bowl commercials. I especially enjoy the ones with all pets.
Thanks…we try to be enthusiastic! I know, I love that more and more of the commercials feature pets now too.
I haven’t entered yet, thanks for the reminder!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Hope you can find the time to do it!
I’m an only child so I’m team dog…. maybe even the cats will root this time for the dogs? miracles can happen :o)
Good luck with that….LOL.
What a fun video! I don’t know if we can pick sides, either! Since I’m the oldest child in our family, I’m sure Soth uses the logic that I do: Mom’s had me the longest, so she loves me the most–so by that line of thinking, I should be Team Cat and Barley’s probably enthusiastic enough to count as 15 cheerleaders for Team Dog on her own 🙂
It sounds like Barley can handle it, and you can feel good about staying true to Soth’s seniority!
I think the brown dawgs would out number our poor little kitty in this house…lol.
Yes, poor Nestle doesn’t stand a chance!
Love these super bowl commercials.
I love how more and more are featuring pets!
