We have a couple of goodies to share about today!
First of all, Chewy.com sent us some treats from The Honest Kitchen to try. Talk about your high value treats! These are high value not just to the pets, but to me. The ingredients list is something I look at first of all with treats. What is in The Honest Kitchen Wishes? Dehydrated Haddock. That’s it. It’s 100% wild caught haddock from Iceland.

That means these treats are grain free, free of additives and preservatives, high in protein, and low in fat (haddock is naturally low in fat). These are good size fillets, but they are crispy and easy to break into smaller pieces for training. What else do I love about these? They are for both dogs and cats!
I recently put them to the test when training with Luke, and when doing a photo session with Samantha for our #TeamCat #TheLucyBowl photos. They were a hit with both of them, and my photo shoot with Sam went much better than they usually do!

I worked with Luke on his “roll over” and these treats made a great lure. (We’re not doing so well with his roll over, I can’t get him any further than lying on his side. I’m not sure he’s going to be comfortable rolling onto his back, even though he often sleeps that way. We’ll keep working on it, and maybe try something else too to build his confidence more. I’m going to try to get his Dad to work with him as well, because he sometimes does better than I do!)

The only downside to these treats I could find was that, as expected, they are very fishy smelling! If that bothers you, you might not like working with them. I don’t mind it, I just wash my hands afterwards and the smell doesn’t linger.
*Disclaimer: We received one bag of Honest Kitchen treats from Chewy.com, but were in no other way compensated. Wag ‘n Woof Pets only shares products we feel will be of interest to our readers; our reviews are honest, and all opinions are our own.
What is Cricket wishing for in this photo?
She’s wishing that it would hurry up and be supper time so she can try some of this Merrick canned food! We want to say a huge thank you to Jessica and her beagle Luna at Beagles and Bargains. We recently won this food in her Stocking Stuffer giveaways over the holidays. The dogs love Merrick and I love all the different fun flavors, and the fact that it looks like real food. It’s not a pile of mush….it’s whole pieces of meats and vegetables in gravy, that looks good enough for even humans to eat (no, I didn’t try it though)! They had the Carver’s Delight the other night and loved it!
Have you entered our giveaway for Wag Lifetime Joint Care? Today is the last day to enter, so hurry over and enter now!

The ingredients list is the very first things I look at as well 🙂 Haddock sound yummy to us, as we all enjoy fish in our pack (well, Daddy not so much, but Mommy & the pups do!).
We humans like fish too, but only mild white ones like haddock….I don’t like cooking it and having the whole house smell like fish!
great review, I bet MK would love the haddock and so would nellie as she likes to roll in fish. Sweet picture of Cricket and her tongue.
Thanks! It always surprises me that the dogs seem to love fish as much as the cats do! I can deal with the smelly treats, but I think I’d be less happy with a smelly dog that had rolled in fish! LOL
Haley would love these treats and I like the fact that they are single ingredient. Thanks for the review!
You’re welcome! I hope Haley gets a chance to try them!
It took me a long time to learn to roll over. It isn’t as easy as it looks!
I think you’re right, Clowie. It looked so easy in the videos I watched though! But it’s definitely not.
LOL I think roll over is one of the toughest tricks to teach a dog. Our dogs take a long time just to be relaxed in a down. But at least you have super smelly treats. 🙂 I think that helps when training.
It helps, but it’s not getting me what I want! I think you’re right…Luke is just not relaxing enough. He takes his training sessions very seriously! LOL
Yummy! Awesome to find a treat for both the cats and dogs. Shiner does love her Merrick canned food and we have some in the pantry right now.
The dogs would love to have that canned food every day, but we normally give them that about once a week, and on special occasions.
Barley’s a big fan of their beams–which are catfish skins and also smell horrendous (sort of like goldfish food)! We’ll have to look into these wishes!
And we’ll have to look into the beams!
Dang, that’s a whole lot of nice yum!
It sure is!! 🙂
Team DOG! I bet those are super tasty! I had some treats like that from Whole Life and the cat brothers stole them from us…Broke into the bag like a bunch of wild animals! They look and (I bet smell) great!
I imagine if Samantha had her way, she would not be sharing them with the dogs!
Sugar loves those wishes treats too. They SMELL but it taste DELISH!!! We are TeamDog:-) Golden Woofs
Yay for TeamDog!! 🙂 I’m pretty sure the dogs (and cats) think the smellier the better when it comes to treats!
I would imagine Sam would do just about anything for a little Haddock! We too love THK – their treats are a huge hit in our house.
We’ve tried some of their other treats too, and they are high on our list. Sam is definitely a girl who loves her fish….the only canned food she’ll eat is fish flavor!
I bet you are the best food tester ever… and I so agree wishes come true… hope in my crib too….. it’s time tosend my mom to my treat box :o)
Easy Rider
Hope you got to taste test some yummy and stinky smelly treats too, Easy!!
Mmmm, the smellier than better! Mom wouldn’t agree, though! BOL! Thanks for sharing!
Funny how us humans are so much more sensitive to the smell than you dogs are! BOL
We got some of those at BlogPaws and they were real fishy smelling. Mom can’t stand fish, so they are out for us, but we do love them. Maybe we can come to your house and eat some?
Bring the crew on over, Emma, but hurry ……these aren’t going to last too long!
Oh I bet mine would just love these!
I had treats once that smelled horribly like fish!! And I hate fish! LOL!
But if they love it, i’m ok with that!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
You are such a good dog Mom, you would make the sacrifice, wouldn’t you, Jenna? I have a friend who hates fish as well. I was thinking of getting her a bag of these for her dog. LOL
