At least once a week from now on and as long as she’s still with us, our golden retriever Sheba is going to share one thing she does to live life to the fullest. At times when I’m watching her doing something fun, I get this feeling that she knows that her days in this world are winding down, and she is determined to make the most of them. It never fails to bring a smile to my face!
TODAY’S TIP: Act like a puppy, no matter how old you are!
- Never let your younger sibling win; and
- Don’t worry about irritating your older sibling either! (Look closely for Cricket’s lip starting to curl up at around 45 seconds in the video!)
Is your older dog young at heart (Sheba is 11 going on 12!)?
Thank you for sharing the video. I love seeing dogs teasing each other. I also have lots of pictures and videos of my dogs. Watching they play makes me feel so relaxed.
Great post! Thanks for sharing! To me, pets are always the best human’s friends. So, it makes me sad when thinking about the fact that their lives are short. But you’re right, they want to live to their lives the fullest. So we have to be by their side to make them the bestest lives!
Haha! The sound from that video got quite a reaction in our house!
Haha. Love the videos so much. Can you this become a series? I’m pretty sure there are many ones out there want it too. Anw, thanks for sharing :*
My life would be tragic without pets! Love your poem ‘Live to the fullest’ so much. Your video reminds me of my childhood: young, free and wild.
It is so sute. Look forwward for your next posts.
Our life is more colorful with dogs. They are not only friends but souldmates for many people.
I swear Cricket should have had a bubble over her head that said, “Hey, I’m trying to get some shut eye here!”
I love how well they’ve integrated into each other’s lives.
too cute video-and great reminder for all indeed-love watching them all!
I’m looking forward to this series. What a wonderful idea!
Sweet, patient Cricket.
I saw Cricket’s lip!!!! Dakota loved this too! He ran to the front door looking for the barking dogs BOL! I think he wants to join the Bark Fest!!! xoxo
The more the merrier! 🙂
That video is precious. You can tell that Cricket cannot believe those two are ruining a perfectly good nap. BOL! Luke embodies every younger sibling in the world. ROFL!
Always live like your dying, make it count and have fun!
So, so true! I think dogs are better at remembering that than we humans are. 🙂
That quote is spot on as well as your tips! Great video! Have a wonderful weekend.
Love it <3 So true 🙂 made our day. Golden Thanks for sharing. Woofs from SUGAR
Like Ann, I love Sheba’s attitude! Funny how most times now Shadow just lets Ducky have a toy if I inadvertently leave it out…just like Callie used to do with both of them. Poor Cricket – it’s tough getting a nap when the kids won’t behave, isn’t it? ????
I think Cricket is pretty used to it by now! LOL Sometimes Sheba will give in and let Luke have the toy, but most of the time she stands up for what she wants. Honestly, I think he just gives in to his older sister sometimes. ♥
I love your attitude, Sheba!
BOL that was a good video!

Today is National Dog Day so we send best wishes to all the woofies. What a wonderful thing to do for Sheba and for her to share with us. When I see our Fiona perk up and play it warms my heart. Keep it up Sheba!
Thank you for coming by to wish the woofies a Happy Dog Day!
There is just something that pulls on the heart strings watching our girls enjoying life, isn’t there?
Bwhahaha the funniest part of the video is Cricket. She is just trying to get some shut-eye.
LOL! Poor Cricket is trying to get a nap in and is like “hey, what are you doing”. So funny! It’s great Sheba is still having so much fun!
Love the video. Poor Cricket is like, “Hey, can you take this somewhere else?!?! I’m NAPPING!” Yay for Sheba and sticking up for what she wants 🙂
great tip!!! I always act like a puppy… and it’s impawtant to stay cool even when a younger bro grabs your tail :o)
