June has been a crazy month here at Wag ‘n Woof Pets so far! On the first day of the month I was on my way home from Nashville, and ever since then I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things. We’ve had so much going on, as you might have noticed! We have lots more planned before the month is over, and before the summer is over…which happens all too quickly here in New England.

We are trying to get back into our fitness routines, and have been getting more walks in. The weather is finally really feeling like summer so we plan to do some swims too. Sheba was supposed to have her first one of the season today, but the beach was already closed to dogs. She was able to get her feet wet but that was it, and we had a nice walk. Next time we’ll find a better place. Luke left off a bit timid of the water last year, so we’ll be taking him separately to ease him back into it. I want to take Cricket swimming as well, as she’s been starting to show some signs of arthritis.
June Reminders:
Next Friday June 19th is International Box Day! Join your hosts Luke and his new feline friends Peaches and Paprika for this fun event. If you missed the announcement last week, you can read more by clicking here. We hope you will share photos of your pets in boxes. There are no rules, so just be creative with it! Grab the badge below and we’ll also be hosting a linky list for that day.

If you’ve somehow missed it, all this month is Multiple Pet Mania! Along with our friends the Cascadian Nomads and MyGBGVLife, we are hosting a blog hop, weekly giveaways, and a photo contest. There is a Life with Multiple Pets survey you can fill out as well. Join in the fun! Read all the details here. This week’s giveaway will be open until next Monday, and we are giving away natural cleaning and grooming products from PL360. Click here to enter!
Coming Soon
We had taken a little break from Luke’s trick training, but I got thinking about something I’ve been wanting to teach him and this got me motivated:

Luke is going to learn how to put his toys away! That will give us something to work on indoors when it’s really hot outside. We also plan to get out the agility tunnel and I’m going to try training him the weave poles. I’m sure there is going to be a lot to share about these projects. Also, I’m looking into K9 Nose Work classes for Luke. I don’t think there’s a lot going on in our area but I will keep looking. I know it’s something he could really do well at, judging by the fun we’ve had with those games at home.
One more thing: Luke will be sharing his review of this Tuggo toy, which we received when at the BlogPaws conference. We’ll be taking it outside and filling it with water, and see what happens. I have a feeling he’s going to like it!
We hope you’ll be sticking with us for the rest of Jumpin’ June and the summer!

I am in the same boat as you. I am trying to catch up from being gone last weekend. Then I had issues with my blog theme and had to quick find something to change to. Of course at the worst possible time. I hope the developers can figure out a work around the issue or I will need to make a permanent change…grrr.
Like it’s not bad enough when summer is so busy, and it’s so hard to get caught up…then to have an issue like that…ugh! Hope things get resolved soon!
Maybe mom will get out lots of boxes for me for Int’l Box Day. Thanks for the reminder.
Hope we’ll see you there!!
I’ve never found a box large enough to climb in and the cats always claim any stray boxes anyway!
Yes, I guess that would have to be a pretty big box, wouldn’t it, Clowie!?
We love box day and can’t wait to celebrate!
We can’t wait to see your photos!
Lots of fun stuff going on this summer! We definitely have plenty of photos of our kitties in boxes so will have to remember to enter the hop!
I’m also curios to see what Luke thinks of the Tuggo – Charlie liked it but was not too hard on it.
Luke and Sheba are so hard on everything. If I can just keep them from chewing the rope out before I can get some good photos! 🙂
June is getting crazy for us too! I finally put a post up for multiple pet mania, now its my birthday (and yours!) and then another big giveaway and more! Will make a note of Box Day that looks fun but not sure there is room on the calendar. I didn’t get a tug toy because mom won’t play tug with me. We are planning a big photoshoot for tomorrow weather cooperating. Happy June! Love Dolly
I know, it’s crazy trying to fit everything in, and sometimes we just can’t do everything that we want to. I’ve had to put aside a couple of projects for a while, and hope I’ll be able to get back to them when things settle down.
I hope I can get Luke and Sheba to play tug, so I don’t have to be involved…Luke is way too strong for me!
June is certainly jumping at the wag n woof house! sounds like loads of fun
That will be a fun trick! I taught Mr. N and he helps me clean up the living room sometimes.
Can I ask what you use for a command? I was thinking either “clean up” or “toys away”. Though in actuality, Luke responds better to gestures than words anyway, so I’ll probably have to wave my arms or something! 🙂
I have tried to teach my boys to put p their toys. It didn’t work any better with them than it did with my human children! LOL!
LOL….I hope I have better luck with Luke!
June is crazy busy! Mom is almost losing her mind with all the stuff going on. Hope Luke loves the ball as much as Bailie does. I bet a couple pups will get together for tug a war!
I know, I’m so afraid I’m going to forget something important with everything going on! I hope Sheba will play tug with Luke, I never know with her…some toys she is just not interested in.
Oh yes big summer plans that include little brown fur balls running around. Have a great weekend.
Now that’s going to be a fun summer!! 🙂
The girls and I will be here! I can’t wait to see how it goes when you start training Luke to pick up his toys! Have you decided what cue word you’ll use once he has the hang of it?
PS. If only I could train Callie or Shadow to mop the kitchen and bathroom floors for me!! Now THAT would be a useful trick! (It’s my second least favorite chore – second only to dusting.)
Yes, housework would definitely be a trick I’d like to train them to do! Luke is always trying to steal my duster from me, but I don’t think he really wants to dust with it. 🙂
I haven’t decided on a cue word for toy pickup yet, maybe just “pick up”? Any suggestions?
“Pick up” sounds good to me. Maybe it should be a 2-step deal though — after he picks it up, have him put it “in box”?
Such a busy month! I will be following closely if you teach Luke to pick up his toys! That is something I have never done!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Oh you have such a cool tuggo toy … I like the color and it’s a great idea to fill it with water :o)
I will post a photo of me in a box, I love boxes… what a fun t have an additional boxing day… and this time in summer :o)
We’re so glad you’re going to join the Box Day fun, Easy, can’t wait to see your photos!
