I used to be a meticulous housekeeper. Everything was in its place and I could probably pass the “white glove test”. As our furry family grew larger, I kind of lost track of that. More pets means more fur and dirt around the house. More pets means more ears to clean, baths to give, nails to trim, and fur to be brushed.
It might be one of the most challenging things about having multiple pets….finding time to do all that. I do my best to keep up on the grooming, though I could do better. I could do way better in the house cleaning department. We switched most of our carpets out for wood floors over the years, because they are so much easier to keep clean when you have pets. The running joke around here is that my cleaning technique is to open the front sliders and let the wind blow all the fur to the back of the house where I can scoop it all up at once.
That’s mostly not true, but somewhere along the line I went from being obsessed with cleaning, to learning to live with a little dirt and fur on the floors, and dog slime on the windows. I’ve learned that if you at least keep your home clutter free, people think it’s really clean anyway. My house isn’t as bad as I make it sound….we keep things generally clean though I could certainly be better. We go on a house cleaning frenzy only when company is coming, or when I just get in the mood to clean (which doesn’t happen often!). I’d just rather be playing with the dogs or working on my blog than obsessively cleaning the house.
Keeping up on brushing the animals can help keep the fur down. When we had two golden retrievers, I found it almost impossible to keep up with both of them. After losing Moses, I finally gave in and took Sheba to a groomer. Sheba can be timid so I never wanted to put her through the stress of something new like that (I wished I had taken both of them from when they were young). When one of the vet techs at our vet’s office started grooming, I was thrilled, because here was someone I knew and was comfortable leaving Sheba with, knowing they’d take good care of her and treat her right. She goes to the “spa” every 3-4 months and in between I brush her and trim her nails myself.
I also brush our cat Samantha, otherwise she just leaves a carpet of black everywhere she lays! Luke and Cricket don’t shed as much, and they are easier to keep up with. Luke won’t let me brush him anyway….he still thinks the brush is a toy!
I am also intent on using only cruelty free and chemical free products. I believe that the residues from harsh chemical products is one of the things that can lead to illness and allergies in our pets. When given the opportunity to try some new cleaning and grooming products from PL360 (“For Pet Lovers Everywhere”) I was excited! It motivated me to do some of that much needed cleaning, and to give Luke and Cricket the baths they were due for.
All of the cleaning and grooming products from PL360 are natural, plant based, and safe for pets. They are made in the USA and never tested on animals. I am sensitive to smells, and all of their products are pleasant smelling and not overwhelming. The cleaning products are non-allergenic and contain no ammonia, bleach, phosphates, phthalates or sulfates. The shampoos don’t have any parabens, sulfates, phthalates, toxins, lanolin, soap or alcohol.
Our elderly cat Conrad was having a lot of accidents around the house, and I wish I’d had these products long before we lost him. They are simple to use and work well. He had some bad accidents on the dog/cat beds and I sprayed the Stain & Odor Remover on the bed before throwing it in the wash, and it came out perfectly clean and smelling so much better.

When Samantha was not feeling well, we had put her in a room away from the dogs, it just happened to be the one room where we still have carpet. She was throwing up hair balls and having accidents as well, and even though I had spot cleaned the carpet it hadn’t come totally clean. Frankly, when you walked in our house, it was one of those houses where you knew immediately we had animals. I used the Stain & Odor Remover on the stains, and then the Carpet Powder on the whole room, plus our carpeted staircase which also needed it. The house smells so much better now! I even used the Multi-purpose cleaner and wipes to clean some of the smudges off the windows. It’s not even recommended for that, but worked great! Both cleaners can be used on all kinds of surfaces…just about anywhere, really.
I’ve come to enjoy giving the dogs’ baths. They’re pretty good about it, they try to escape some but mostly they don’t seem to mind so much. I just love having them clean and fresh smelling, and watching their antics when it’s over! PL360 has 7 different shampoos. We got to try the Oatmeal foaming shampoo – it’s made especially for dry and itchy skin, and even though Luke’s skin isn’t bad he does get some dandruff sometimes. I loved how this shampoo worked and how it rinsed out so easily.

We used the Daily Grooming shampoo on Cricket and it worked just as well and I love that scent too. Both dogs look and smell great, and every time we hug them we tell them how good they smell! Baths seem to energize them!

Yesterday I posted photos of Luke and Cricket being silly after their baths. Cricket had to roll in the grass and Luke had to romp around the yard with his bandana in his mouth. Even though Sheba didn’t have a bath, she wanted to get in on modeling the bandanas, seen below. She says she’s still clean from her last grooming!

Multiple pet maniacs do tend to have so much in common. I also used to keep an obsessively tidy house and now… I like your opening the windows to let things blow out idea! I wish I could love dog bath time. When I can scrounge up enough money to take everyone to the self wash, I am happier but bending over our bathtub for sometimes two hours of scrubbing and rinsing so much fluffy fur makes me really sore. Once my back stops hurting though, I do love clean dogs (and cat.) The house stays a little bit cleaner with regular brushing and that isn’t as tough on my body. Why can’t all the pets just be like Leo and groom and bathe themselves? Anyways, thanks SO much for introducing me to PL360. I am a forever customer of theirs from now on. I absolutely love all of their products and am so happy to have finally found a natural cleaning brand with a full line of products that are not only pet safe but actually work.
Bethany, I’m so glad you are happy with the PL360 products! I am a customer now too, and I think Joy will be as well.
I forgot about the back issues with baths….I usually get back pain just from brushing Sheba. We are lucky that we have our walk in shower, that does make it a bit easier since we can get right in there with them (and it’s easier too that I make the hubby help so it gets done quicker!).
I never heard of this brand before, but i am loving the awesome range of products they offer. We just got a new puppy too, his name is Ming and he is a chow. Would love to try this awesome brand!
Oh, a new puppy….how exciting! You are definitely going to need lots of good quality cleaning products! 🙂
I’m such a fan of these cleaning products – anything I know they can lick and not get sick is on the top of my list!! We’ve been using the stain remover and the multi-surface cleaner for a couple weeks now and so happy with their performance!
I was impressed too. With all natural products, you really never know how well they will work. There’s nothing worse than doing housework that doesn’t turn out good results!
Love the picture of Luck with the slipper. Nothing like the young ones for laughs. Those look like some great products. This is a dumb question, but if they did not test the shampoos on animals, how did they know they would work and not harm them?
That is not a dumb question, it’s actually a good one, but I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to it!
You do have your hands full keeping those dogs (and cat) and a house clean! Love Dolly
Great post! That before and after picture of the vomited carpet is amazing, great stuff.
When you have a Golden Retriever, you either learn to live with fur on the floors or you go insane! We’ve gone from a Golden and three long-haired cats to just one cat, so the cleaning has decreased a lot around here. Nice info on the cleaning products. I’ll have to check them out.
Are those products sold locally? They sound like just what we need. I also avoid chemicals for our pets and humans alike. Great pics, too!
Those sound like some great products. ‘Cept for the bath stuff…we don’t like baths! 😉
I couldn’t even imagine trying to give Sam a bath…she barely lets me brush her! 🙂
These are some amazing products! Your photos are wonderful!
One reason I have short haired dogs is to keep the dog hair to a minimum! Becca shed something awful and I actually bought one of those dog brushes that attaches to the vacuum cleaner…she LOVED it.
That is great! None of our crew cares much for the vacuum, so I don’t think it would work with them!
I stopped at their booth at BP’s and had hoped they would be tempted by my blog, but it didn’t happen. I’d really like to try these products because I try to be as natural as possible with my pets.
And with a dog like Delilah, you can imagine I do have some spots on my carpet. LOL
Great products, I like to use them on their toys occasionally. Nice review my friend.
LOL! Two of yours got baths! Bailie is so wild after her baths, she tears around the house, out the door and around the yard! Thanks for getting us in touch with PL360. We really were unsure about the products, but we loved meeting and talking with Katie at BlogPaws and the products are fantastic. We are using the wipes and surface cleaner all the time!
Good luck to everyone who enters the giveaway!
These seem like wonderful products!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
It’s important to be super careful what cleaning products we use and I honestly think a lot of people with pets don’t realize that they may be the cause of some health issues for their animals. This sounds like a fabulous line of products that is truly SAFE to use.
Hugs, Pam and Sam
I’m sure Luke is related with me… that’s what I would do too :o)
My mom has still to learn to take a deep breath instead the Count Vaccula… she could spend much more time with me instead to fly trough my crib with the hoover thingy :o)
Count Vaccula is my least favorite housekeeping companion, so he stays in the closet a lot around here. 🙂
Count Vaccula??
That’s what Easy calls his vacuum cleaner! 🙂
That is too funny! 🙂
Ducky hates the vacuum, too; which is why I take her to daycare on days when I need to use ours. Her sisters just get up and move away from it.
I think grooming and cleaning up after the pets is definitely the hardest part about having multiples! I am constantly needing to clean the rat’s cage, wipe fur off my sheets, and do the litter box. I’m thankful Shiner’s grooming requirements are pretty minimal. My house is a mess… but it’s mostly due to a certain 3 year old human. I just don’t even try that hard anymore lol… I’ve tried all of those cleaning products and they are very helpful. I especially love the wipes!
Multiple animals, and kids to boot….now that’s a housekeeping challenge for sure! 🙂
