I’m starting a new series where I am going to share the pets of my family and friends. Everyone likes to meet new pets, right, even if it is just virtually? I also know my family and friends will enjoy seeing their own pets on here. It will just be something I do occasionally on a Friday (some Fridays have to be available for FitDog posts!). With the holidays approaching I’ll be doing more visiting so there may be more this time of year. It will be mostly photos with just a little bit about each pet. I hope you enjoy meeting some new cuties!
This week I am featuring two adorable older blondies who belong to my close friend Sheryl. Sheryl and I have been friends for over 30 years and she’s had many pets over the years. We shared an apartment in the 80’s and we both had cats at the time (you can read more about them by clicking here). She’s had some losses just in the last few years, so right now her furry household consists of one dog and one cat.
Canine Benji is a silky terrier/bichon frise mix, and he is 10 years old. He’s a friendly little guy, and he loves to be held. In fact, when we go visit him, he will bark…not an unfriendly bark, but a “Pick me up now!” bark! As soon as he is safely in someone’s arms, he is quiet and content. Benji originally belonged to Sheryl’s mother, but came to live with Sheryl when her mother had health issues making it difficult for her to care for him. He has always gotten along with all of the other pets in the household, and he is currently best buddies with Henry.

Feline Henry is about 13 years old. Sheryl doesn’t know his exact age since he came through friends of a friend. Someone was moving and couldn’t take Henry with them so Sheryl stepped up and gave him a home! Henry is very friendly as well….he always comes out to greet company, and he loves his canine brother. He might even think he IS a dog!

These two beauties fill Sheryl and her family’s life with much affection, joy, and companionship, and they are true best friends!

What sweeties they are!! I love seeing other people’s pets.
They’re cute! It’s so nice that they are close friends.
I love little benji. He might have come home with me years ago if Sheryl hadn’t been able to take him. Henry is so funny, what a beautiful match they make!
I remember one time when you were ready to sneak him under your coat and out of there! 🙂
Awwwww. Very sweet!
They both look sweet, although Herny looks to be channeling a bit of the grumpy cat vibe…lol.
You’re right about that…if only he could make my friend as rich as Grumpy Cat has probably made his family! LOL
Those are great photos of Benji and Henry. Benji’s personality really shows through. Henry looked very stern in the first photos, but seeing his gorgeous blue eyes really brightened up his look. They’re both lucky to have found such a loving home.
Oh they are so cute! I love that they match, too 🙂 I’m pretty sure Henry and I make the same face when woken from a nap 🙂
Ha ha….no one really appreciates being woken from a nap, do they?
Loved seeing Sheryl’s beautiful blondies! Love those ears of Benji’s in that pic where he’s been running around, you can’t even see his eyes, just his ears, ha-ha! And Henry just looks mad in every pic-but we know he’s not always, he’s a true “pussycat”, lol!!
I wanted to get a better pic of those crazy ears, but he just wouldn’t stay still!
Thanks for showing off my two blonde boys. 🙂 they are both snuggling with me right now. Benji needs a haircut at the moment…but when his hair is long is when he looks most like a mohair teddy bear. Lol. Anyway, thx again, Auntie Jan! Come back soon!
You’re welcome! I can’t decide if Benji looks cuter when he looks like a teddy bear, or when he’s all trimmed up. Both looks are adorable on him.
What a couple of cuties! Thanks for introducing them to us.
Awww, how sweet! Maybe we should do a monthly blog hop, “Friends & Family Pets”? So we can all share when we have a special pet not our own.
That’s a great idea! I’m not sure I have enough friends and family to keep it going for too long though!! LOL
I’m not sure I do either.
Nice to meet you Blondies!
So sweet. Nice to meet you
Love & peas,
Lily & Edward
What a great idea for a new series! These two are beauties too!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
That is so funny that they are color coordinated! They are both darling, but I think I might be in love with Henry! ♥
He just makes you want to cuddle him, doesn’t he? 🙂
I was thinking of doing this because a friend sent me pictures of his dog after reading my blog. I love seeing everyone’s sweet pups. And kitties 🙂 Have a nice weekend!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, and had my same idea. You should do it too!
love seeing these cuties!
What a couple of cuties. Thanks for sharing your friends pets. Henry has beautiful markings! Have a wonderful weekend.
I don’t see Henry as a future blogging cat! He sure looks unhappy about the whole photo thing! Nice set of matching blonde pets, though.
I know, right? We used to have a cat before the blog, Don Juan….he always had a scowl like that in photos. We called it his “happy face” LOL.
What GREAT photos…..these two make a good “pair” too with their similar coloring – “brothers of the heart” they are even if they’re not of the same “species” !!!!
Hugs, Pam and Sam
