I can’t believe it was a year ago today that I was scrolling through my news feed on Facebook and saw that a litter of puppies was being born on our sweet Maggie’s birthday. I wasn’t even serious when I showed them to my hubby, but he jumped right on it. It took me a few days to agree to take the plunge and get a puppy. I haven’t regretted it for a minute since.
Luke was a very good and fairly easy puppy. Sure, we’ve had the normal puppy destruction and moments of pulling our hair out (and sometimes still do!)…but after him I wouldn’t hesitate to do the puppy thing again (which probably means the next one will be a nightmare!). My hubby and I agreed that Luke would go to formal training, we’ve done that and he has proven to be a very smart boy and a quick learner. He still has his puppy moments of totally blowing us off, but his training is ongoing and we know he is a work in progress.
Luke is not perfect, there are some issues with him that I will fill you in on one of these days. But any problems aside, he is a sweet and loving boy and we couldn’t possibly love him any more than we do. He is a nut and makes us laugh and smile every day (and sometimes shake our heads!). HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUKEY – LU!!!! We are so happy you became a part of our family, and your sisters love you so much too (even if they do get irritated with you sometimes). More than anything, Luke has helped us through the loss of Kobi and he came to us exactly when we needed him.
We had our big paw-ty yesterday (since we had to work today), with cake and presents. We had planned to get out some of the agility equipment to play with, but the weather didn’t cooperate (we did have some fetch in the morning before it started raining again). Sometime this week we will though, and I’ll be sharing photos of the celebration throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who has joined in our Three Days of Happy. If you haven’t entered our giveaway yet, then click here and join in the fun of guessing Luke’s weight and possibly win one of two prize packs! The contest is open through Saturday.
Where’s the mischief here? Well, Luke has just grown up too darn fast! 🙂
