This is all in one short walk! Something about the melting snow must have brought out the smells!

We also saw a lot of deer and fox tracks, so we know the wildlife had been out there!

I plan to put Luke’s super sniffer to good use soon; we’ll be signing up for an online beginner tracking class through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. The class starts December 1st. I’m not sure how much we’ll be able to do, depending on snow cover and if we will have areas to practice right away or not, but that’s the joy of the Fenzi classes. We can do them on our own time and schedule and we’ll always have access to the lectures and materials. I’m excited to start on this. Luke’s nose really is amazing and I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time. We look forward to telling you about it once we get started.
We are joining our friends at Comedy Plus for the Wordless Wednesday blog hop. Please visit them and other blogs through the links below.
I’m sure Luke will love doing some tracking. Have fun!
It will give us both something fun and different to do this winter, and I look forward to it!
Such an expert sniffer.
He gets lots of practice in just one short walk! 🙂
That looks like fun, Luke!
Our angel brofur MJF used to have fun in ther snow on walks on our countryside roads too…he loved to track deer and turkeys. Sometimes other critters like rabbits and squirrels left good sniffs too.
Luke loves our woods since they get so much wildlife traffic. I like winter because there are tracks to see, so sometimes I can actually know what he’s smelling (he never tells – LOL)!
Tracking should be very fun! I just restarted nosework with R because he needs some fun stuff in his life. Let us know about tracking!
I definitely will! I hope to do the second course in nosework at some point too, but I think tracking will be more fun for both of us.
Some super good smells. That’s awesome your gonna take some tracking classes, fun fun.
We just signed up and can’t wait to get started (December 1st)!
We bet Luke will ace that class!
If Luke wasn’t so fearful, I know he could be a search and rescue dog, so it’s going to be a lot of fun to see if I’m right!
Happy sniffin’ there Luke, you sure seem to be having some fun!
I’m not sure if he likes walks more for the walking or for the sniffing!
Looks like you are getting a great headstart on your class Luke!!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
I’m definitely ready!!
Love, Luke
Have a super good time with the class. There is something extra fragrant about autumn smells that compels dogs to investigate for long periods of time. Sam thinks he must check under every single leaf he encounters.
I really have to learn to be patient, and remember that walks are more for him and not me! 🙂
that dog is so cute!
Thank you!!
Sounds like a great class for you and Luke!! Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing about it!!
I’m pretty excited about it! We need something new to work on, especially in winter when we miss walks a lot of days.
I seem to always pick up lots of weed seeds on walkies too, Luke! We can see that you are really enjoying your sniffing!
We hope you don’t find those nasty burrs like he does sometimes too!
I love going on walks with handsome Luke. I’ll also be happy to hear about his tracker classes. How fun.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Extra treat for Luke and my best to his mom. ♥
We are so happy you enjoy coming along with us! ♥
oh please keep us posted about your sniff-ventures ,O)
We definitely will!!
Don’t let the snow slow you down. Dogs learn tracking in the snow just as in the grass. Mom finds it amazing that when we track in snow, the track is so obvious to her, but we often go off the foot prints to catch the odor, and dogs fail in snow as much as in grass. Just remember the colder it is, the harder it is to find odor because it doesn’t spread much. When it is down near zero, we stick our nose/face way down to find it. Enjoy your class.
Thank you so much for letting me know that! I was really afraid we wouldn’t be able to do much over the winter, but this is the only time they offer the class. We just signed up and can’t wait until class starts 12/1.
