We’ve made no secret of the fact that Sheba is fighting cancer, and we are certainly not alone in our fight. We know other blog friends who are in the same battle, and we think of them often. Maggie from SlimDoggy and Emmett from Oh My Dog! come to mind immediately. There are also friends fighting other diseases with their dogs and cats; the support given each other is of immense benefit to all of us. It’s not just dogs that are fighting the awful C word though, there is also a human blog friend out there in her own battle with cancer.
Felicia “Flea” is the chief blogger for Jones Natural Chews and well known in the pet blogging world. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a love for dogs and animals that knows no bounds. In her work as a blogger she spends much time visiting dog families and dispensing Jones’ all natural products with joy. But she has had to put all that aside to battle Stage 3 colon cancer. She has a long road ahead of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
We wanted to join other pet bloggers in offering our support to Flea in her battle, and Sheba wants to tell her especially to do as she is doing:
Fight it with all you’ve got!!
Keep on fighting Flea, Sheba and all of you in your own health battles. Don’t give up and know that there is an army of support behind you and pulling for you!
This blog hop was created and is hosted by our friends Oz the Terrier and M.K. Clinton at Barking from the Bayou. It will be open through March 13th for anyone that would like to join in sending healing wishes and prayers to Flea.
Having said what I did about the situation here at home, let me add the following:
Just in case I can’t join the hop, I want Flea to know that she and her family are in my prayers. Cancer is a horrible disease, and the best way to combat it mentally is to keep a positive attitude about winning the battle. Y’all know that Callie was a cancer victim; but so were both of my parents. Mom fought metastatic breast cancer for 3-1/2 years in the late 70s and Dad fought lung cancer in 2005. Hubby fought – and won his battle against prostate cancer several years ago. So I’m no stranger to the fight. I say to Flea: “You have a wonderful sense of humor and in this fight against cancer it will often be your best weapon. Know that you have my full moral support in your battle, as well as the support of so many of our fellow pet bloggers. Love and hugs to you, Flea!! ❤️????
Very well said, Sue. Cancer has touched your life way too much…but at least we know the battle can sometimes be won. Hope and a sense of humor are the only way to get through it.
I will join the hop as soon as I can; but right now I have my brother staying with us. Unfortunately, poor Ducky is totally stressed out by the presence of another human male in the house. Which is making Shadow stressed. And it’s making for a difficult situation.
Oh no, Sue, I know just how tough that can be. Heck, it was an issue for Luke to just have someone staying here for the weekend. I hope things settle down for your household soon. Thinking of you. ♥
Wishing good health for Flea.
Oh Sheba that is the best smily face pictures to make Flea feel better, great job!
We’re sending mega purrs to Flea!
I had no idea about Flea, I’m so sorry to hear that. We are sending many prayers out to her and of course, we’re always sending them out for Sheba. I have to ask – what on earth made sweet Sheba put on such a ferocious face? 🙂
Sheba was playing with Luke in every one of those photos…she likes to keep her brother in his place! It really was all playing though…she likes to put on a good show!
I just learned about Flea today and am in shock. Sending tons of POTP
Sheba, that is a good face!! We are sending prayers for Flea and for you.
All prayers for everyone are so greatly appreciated. Thank you, Julie. ♥
So sad. Sending lots of prayers their way
Lily & Edward
I know that you know all about the battle, and about the sadness. 🙁 Time can help, but the wounds never completely heal, do they? Hugs to you.
Thanks so much for joining us in our #Fight4Flea hop. I know the support she is receiving will help. Love to Sheba ♥
We wish everyone with that terrible “C” a successful fight. We will never know if Katie’s tumor is benign or not, but tumors in general stink! We love Flea and are so sad she is going through this and we feel for Sheba too as she is such a sweet girl.
It stinks that Katie’s tumor is in such a bad place, and that nothing can be done for it. Sheba has been lucky that her tumors were in a place where they were easy to remove, or we would have much less time with her. We surely hope that Flea can win her battle, but can only imagine just how tough it must be for her.
Hugs and all the power to all who have to fight that evil big C. We are with you and together we are strong enough to chase the bad c over all hills.
I was telling Easy this morning that when ONE of us hurts – ALL of us hurt. The Evil C is something my Mom was lucky enough to beat more than once – FIGHTING it with all our heart and soul and support from our friends and family WORKS. We’re sending POTP to everyone who needs it – we truly do!!
Love, Sammy
Your Mom gives us so much hope, Sammy. Knowing that it can be beat is so encouraging, and having the support of our community gives us all strength.
What a wonderful idea to show Flea our support! We can be strong together in fighting this nasty sickness – my girl Missy did it last year, which is why she’s sending Flea lots of puppy warrior kisses!!!
Missy gives us all much needed hope!!
