Of course we love our pets every day, but this day, National Love Your Pet Day, has been set aside to encourage pet owners to spend time with their pets and give them the love and attention they deserve.
How do you show your pet you love them?
Most pets are pretty easy to please…..some play time, special treats, and maybe a nice long walk for your dog (or cat!). Luke loves it when we simply sit on the couch with him and have some snuggle time.
Another way to show your pet you love them is by taking care of their health! Exercise is important, along with regular vet visits, and of course quality, nutritious food and treats. We’ve been lucky to be able to give Luke fresh food, sometimes made by myself, and sometimes delivered right to our door.

We were happy to get the chance to try Ollie. Ollie is not raw food, but freshly cooked then frozen food that is tailored to your dog’s needs, and then delivered right to your door. It couldn’t be easier, and we’ve been very pleased with the food. Luke is definitely a fan!

While I’ve been happily cooking some of Luke’s food myself lately, life around here might be getting a lot busier in the near future. I like to know that I can keep Luke on what I feel is the best food possible for him, even if I don’t always have time to make it myself. Even if we don’t buy fresh food all the time, I’d like to keep some in our freezer for when needed.

If you switch your dog from kibble to fresh food, you need to transition slowly, and Ollie gives you all the instructions for doing so. In time you may start to see the benefits of this healthier diet: better digestion, more energy, a healthy and shiny coat that sheds less. Calcium is included to help strengthen their bones, leading to a longer and more active life with fewer joint and bone issues, and hopefully less fractures.
Ollie was started by people who love dogs, and who know that a great way show that love is to feed them the healthiest food possible. They use high quality, human-grade ingredients, and their recipes are formulated by a veterinary nutritionist to be complete and balanced. There are no fillers, preservatives, by-products, or artificial flavors.
Each box of food comes with a handy container for storing it in your fridge for up to 5 days (keep the rest frozen), a serving spoon, and a feeding guide customized for your dog.

In addition:
- You give them information on your dog when you sign up, and they determine the proper number of calories. Since I’ve had Luke on fresh food, he has consistently remained at his perfect weight.
- There are different plan types. For instance, at one point I was cooking ½ of Luke’s food myself, so they sent me portions to go along with that, letting me know how much I needed to feed.
- You have a choice of turkey, beef, lamb, or chicken, and you can adjust your delivery dates as well as your choice of recipes or your address at any time.
- Their packaging is either recyclable, compostable, or made from recycled material. Eco-friendly companies are very important to me! We love our Earth.

I feed raw, but cooked food is so much better than kibble in my humble opinion 😉
I could not agree more! And I have nothing against raw, it’s just more than I want to take on right now. 🙂
I look for organic food for my pet.
That is a very wise choice!! ♥
I have three crazy rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds. They currently eat mostly dry kibble, but I’d love to try fresh food for them.
Luke says they’ll love it! Good luck, Linda. Also, I love that breed! It’s always been on my list of dogs I’d love to have. 🙂
Healthy fresh food has to be better than the commercial stuff. I hope you enjoy it.
We believe it is, and Luke sure does love it!
I’m not a doggie, but it looks delicious and you look very handsome, Luke😸Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday🐾😽💞
We bet cats would like fresh food too! If our Sam hadn’t been so fussy, Mom might have tried making food for her too.
Luke – You are the luckiest dog EVER!
Don’t I know it!!
xo
Luke
That sounds wonderful! The boys are both having yummy issues so are eating bland right now. Good luck to everyone.
Ugh, that’s no fun! We hope they feel better soon. ♥
Would love to try this for my dog!!
Good luck…hope you get the chance to!
Sounds like a good food, enjoy Luke.
Meal times are one of his favorite parts of the day. 🙂
Looks like a good food.
I feed Echo Lamb Meal and Brown Rice for Large Breeds.
I’ve never heard of that brand. It’s amazing how many different ones are out there!
Feed my dog Purina with Chicken as one of the meats. Would love to try Ollie’s food. Sound like a great food.
Good luck in the giveaway, Crystal!!
I feed my three boys Simply Nourish, but I would love to try Ollie.
Welcome to the Ollie #cleanbowlclub Luke – enjoy!
Thank you!! The bowl definitely ends up spotless around here!!
What a great giveaway, Luke. You’re such a great pup. Auntie Sandee loves you too.
Have a woof woof day, Luke. My best to your wonderful mom. ♥
I do like to share with my friends, Auntie Sandee. Thank you!

Wow, looks pretty tasty. With 3 big dogs, affordability would be an issue.
Happy L💙ve Your Pet Day!
I guess that’s one good thing about having an only dog, but I sure do often miss having a whole crew!
That sounds like yummy Luke food and a really good company too.
I make them homemade food which is a lot of work but well worth it.
Good for you!!
oh we wish we had Ollie here too… but till he comes over the ocean the mama has to be our ollie LOL Happy love your pet day to you!
We’ve heard good things about Ollie, but with the three of us, those pre made meals are too expensive. Mom cooks our meals for us, and it is working out well. Avoiding the kibble is most important for us. Enjoy, Luke!
I agree that simply getting rid of the kibble is a great thing!
You are a very lucky boy, Luke! Mom and I need to check this out!
I think you would like it, Molly!!
