Good news first! Lennon, the cute Puggle we shared last week has been adopted!!
Samantha wanted to choose our adoptable pet this week, and she chose a black lady cat like herself (only short haired not long like Sam).
Slinky is an adult female, 3 1/2 years old. She was born to a feral mother and taken in by a kind person when she was just a kitten. However well intentioned this person was, they just didn’t know how to raise a stray cat properly, and ended up sending her back outdoors. Another neighbor helped Slinky to learn to trust, and now she is ready for a permanent home.

Details about Slinky:
- Spayed
- Treated for worms and fleas
- Up to date on vaccines
- Medium sized
- Negative for FIV/FelV
- House trained
- Visit her Petfinder page by clicking here
Slinky is with Sullivan County Humane Society in Claremont, New Hampshire.
According to their website, they are a “grass roots organization dedicated to reducing the population of unwanted and abandoned animals through humane spay/neuter practices; finding “Forever Homes” for stray, abused and unwanted animals; cultivating alliances with other local community organizations and individuals interested in the protection of animals; educating the general public about animal cruelty and its prevention.”
They provide a safe haven and care for animals in transition and awaiting adoption. They presently only house cats and kittens in their shelter, but their goal is to assist all companion animals as funds become available. They are a no-kill shelter, established only within the last few years. They hold successful low cost rabies and spay/neuter clinics. To date they have spayed and neutered 1651 cats! You can also follow them on Facebook by clicking here.
