“Last one in is a rotten egg!!!” (do kids still say that?)

The Dadz got the pool out on Wednesday evening after work. Our temperatures reached into the 80’s so it was definitely time! Sheba was the first one in, with Luke soon to follow. Cricket wouldn’t go in unless the ball went in first.

We only put a little water in since it was late in the day, and the next day I was home so we’d add more and play more then. They were right at it early in the morning. Other than the location in a new yard (and a nice level area for it!), not much has changed.

Luke still remembered pool water tastes the best, and didn’t hesitate to stick his nose all the way in to get as much as he could!
He also remembered that he loved to play with the hose. I forgot about that, I got wet, and my camera almost got soaked too!
Her Highness Queen Sheba still does not deign to go in unless the water is completely fresh. I swear, she has to see me actually empty the water from the previous day (which I didn’t because it was still clean), and add all new. I added quite a bit to the couple inches there from the night before, but she still only went in once for a minute when I went in first.

I also forgot that when I slip my shoes off to go into the pool, Luke will steal them. One thing has changed though, he actually dropped them when I said “leave it”!
Cricket diving into the pool after the ball are some of the most fun photos to take:

Happy Summer!!
What will you be doing to cool off?
That looks like so much fun, if you’re into that sort of thing! Our hot weather is finally ending, with rain, but mom never got out our pool because we are waiting on the new concrete patio. Not a deck like yours at all! I think you need to get a bigger pool now! Love Dolly
I’m sure the crew would love a bigger pool…..it was pretty hard to find this one though! Our weather has continued to be hot with very little rain, which is crazy for around here. It has to come to an end soon I would think.
We hope you get your patio and pool soon!
She’s quite daring when it comes to diving after that ball! I love the last photo the best.
She is a bit crazy! I have seen her run into and trip over things because she is so focused on the ball, she pays no attention to anything else around her. At least the water gives her a soft landing!
Yeah the pool is open, what fun!!
Those are such great pictures! They all look like they’re having so much fun – even Sheba watching from the shade (which is where I’d be too!). For the past three days, including today, we’ve hit 96 degrees – and it’s only May! We went from having the heat on to having the air on overnight. It’s crazy!
I’m glad to hear we’re not the only ones with crazy weather! We usually see some 90’s in May or sometimes even April but this year we didn’t. It has been up into the high 80’s this last week though, but I don’t imagine it will last. June tends to be rainy and cool around here.
I love those shots of Cricket!!!
Love the splashdown photos! Looking forward to more “Summer at the Keefes'” photos!! When we had our pool for the girls, all Shadow would do was chew on the outer rim! Callie just ignored it altogether.
Awesome pics, Jan! Pool is open, yay!!
Cricket “don’t worry ball, I’ll save you”. ???? It looks like they had fun.
LOL….that ball is very precious to Cricket, so she definitely takes good care of it! They had a blast!
LOL those are great pictures of Cricket. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love the splashing pictures with the ball!! Such a good thing to have the pool for hot days.
What fun! You really got some great action shots. 🙂
That looks like so much fun! The girls have never had a pool before but Phoenix does like to swim in the river!
Given a choice, Sheba prefers to swim where she can really swim too, not just get wet to cool off. Cricket prefers the pool, but I think Luke can go either way! We hope to go for some real swims too, but the water gets so cold here I want to be sure it’s warm enough before we do that.
OMD! These are some terrific shots of Luke diving into the pool! Sheba probably thinks Luke or Cricket pee’d in the pool. That’s why I don’t go in them. LOL!
Ahhahaha….good one, Melissa!! Sheba may know something I don’t know! Guess I’d better be sure to change the water daily then. 🙂
LOL! Cricket diving in is awesome! We don’t have our pool out yet even though it has been warm a few times. Enjoy my friends!
Oh my dawg! You guys are skinny dippin
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Now I know they feel at home! The pool is open! I’m so used to seeing your pool photos – I was yearning for them! Enjoy your holiday weekend my friend.
I’m so glad you’re happy to see the pool photos, I just hope you don’t get sick of them by the end of the summer (not that summer is very long here!) – LOL. I hope you’re having a great weekend too, Cathy.
What a great way to stay cool. FYI the Man would say he doesn’t say no enough!
Ha, my hubby would certainly say the same thing. But I’m a spoiled brat and stomp my feet until I get what I want….LOL.
Oh fun! Looks like they are loving the pool – and it’s sitting out in the sunshine which makes it even more refreshing! YAY!!!! To stay cool in the summer I stay inside!!
Hugs, Sammy
Fun times and nope I don’t think kids still say that 😉 BOL!!!! Well, we are cool now…our A/C broke two days ago (it is in the mid 80s and humid here), was fixed late yesterday so now all is GOOD!!!!!!!!
I’m so glad you got your A/C fixed! Other than last night when it cooled off quite a bit and then rained, it’s been pretty hot and sunny here. I actually had to give up on planting today because I just got too hot in the sun!
I so wish Barley liked getting wet enough to want to cool off this way! Maybe if we find a cheap pool somewhere this summer, I’ll get her one just in case she changes her mind 😉
Last I checked, they’re pretty cheap at department stores so not too much to spend just to give it a try again! Our beagle Kobi wouldn’t go near the pool either…not even if we threw a treat in there!
