We are joining Ruckus the Eskie for his Sepia Saturday blog hop today. The only rules for this hop are that it be sepia related (pet or non-pet), and have fun! Grab the badge, link to the host, and join in the fun!
Today I am featuring siblings Katie, our black and white cat who we lost to cancer almost three years ago, and our Conrad, who is now 16-17 years old.
Katie was our Samantha’s littermate, but she and Conrad shared a very special bond.
Katie was friendly and outgoing, our only cat at the time that would actually come out and greet company; whereas Conrad was skittish and shy, always hiding out. Opposites definitely attract!
They were always seen sleeping together, washing each other, and sometimes playing and wrestling.
Look at Katie….Conrad had grown bored with the photographs, but she is still posing for the camera! I could sure use her modeling capabilities these days for the blog, since I don’t get much of that kind of cooperation from the current crew! 🙂
Happy Sepia Saturday, and have a great weekend!
Beautiful photos.
Thank you!
Love these pics!
Thanks, Lynn! These photos were actually stuck on my camera somewhere and all of the sudden showed up one time when I was downloading! LOL
Beautiful pictures.
Thank you!
They look very content in each other’s company. Our cats usually hide when we have visitors.
That seems so common with cats. Though I have a friend who has had three very friendly cats who would greet visitors just like a lot of dogs would!
I am sorry that she is gone. I once had a cat named Rusty who had a special bond with our old dog Cody. He was a Collie. Rusty was, well, a rusty kinda color. They slept together, Cody licked Rusty’s head, and they were just the cutest couple. I know how it feels to lose the loved. We had to put down Cody and Rusty, because they both got an illness, and we didn’t want them to suffer. But I’m sure Katie, Rusty and Cody are looking down on us right now, proud of our strength.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
❀Siamese Smothers and Tuxie Tickles❀ from Mikko and Jax at Happiness is Siamese!
They would be happy to know that we honor their memories by telling happy stories and sharing photos of them.
Katie was a great cat, and we all still miss her. I love the thought of a cat and dog bonding. Ours have always gotten along, but no special relationships between the two species! Luke and Samantha play together, so maybe when he is older and settles down (sits still), they’ll bond more.
Thank you for coming by!
Some animals just seem to be born to be supermodels.
So true!! 🙂
Beautiful beautiful photos! Katie is just posing away! Love it, and love the tribute to her! Of course I can’t forget Conrad, you handsome kitty!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Katie really was a good girl, and so photogenic. I have a lot more great photos of her and Conrad. Conrad is a bit rough looking in his old age now, so I love to look back and see how handsome he was.
How lovely! You can see their bond so clearly on those pics 🙂
They really did have a special relationship, and I think Conrad still misses Katie.
There is nothing better than a best friend! Katie was lovely and Conrad is a handsome fellow!
Katie was a pretty girl, though she was a bit on the chunky side! Poor Conrad hasn’t aged too well though (he no longer grooms himself), but he sure was a handsome cat in his day!
Just like people, some of us pets love the camera, some do not. She was a very pretty kitty.
Thank you, Emma. It’s so true about the camera. I really just need to work with the current crew more too though!
Wonderful photos……obviously they were buddies and close……
Hugs, Pam
Thank you! I think they were two of the closest cats we’ve ever had. xxoo
They looked very happy together. I hate cancer!
We hate it too. Katie was only 9 years old when we lost her, and Conrad missed her so much (I think he still does).
