Today is the day we light up social media with photos of our rescue and shelter pets. We want to bring awareness to all the pets that are still waiting for homes, and remember those that sadly never made it out.
Disclosure: We received the items seen here and more to help us spread the word about Remember Me Thursday, but were in no other way compensated. Wag ‘n Woof Pets only shares about products/events we feel will be of interest to our readers, and all opinions are our own.
Our rescue dog Luke knows how lucky he is to have a happy home with us, and he prays that all homeless pets can be just as blessed. Every pet deserves a warm bed, a healthy meal, and most of all, to be loved.
Share your photos today using the hashtags #RememberMeThursday and #RememberTheRescue on Twitter or Instagram and you can also nominate your favorite shelter or rescue to win up to $5,000 in prizes:
- 1st Place: 1,000lbs of Blue Buffalo pet food, $5,000 and 100 Kong toys
- 2nd Place: 1,000lbs of Blue Buffalo pet food, $2,500 and 100 Kong toys

Please join us in using the power of social media to shine a light on so many needy pets, and help to get them into happy homes soon!
I’m so glad to see so many people sharing the value of rescue. Honestly, what would our lives be without them?
Beautiful post, thanks for spreading the word of pet adoption. And thank you for the kind words you left on my blog for the loss of sweet Phoebe. XO
You are very welcome. I hope you are all doing OK. ♥
Love your post! So happy to see so many participating! We are signing here with Cody’s blog because that is where his post is.
I think it was a good “turnout”. I hope they are pleased with how it went, and mostly I hope it really gets results.
Conrad is such a handsome boy!
It devastates me to consider so many forgotten lives – so many kitties and doggies who never know love. Humanity fails these beautiful souls time and time again. It makes me angry … then sad … then angry … grrr. LIVES AREN’T DISPOSABLE!!!
Thank you! Conrad got a little rough looking in his later years when he stopped grooming, but he was one good looking cat before that.
It is devastating, enough that I don’t write about it as much as I used to, because it’s just too upsetting to me too. 🙁
Shared on LinkedIn and my main site http://daisymae2017.wordpress.com. I shared the word. Adopt and Rescue don’t shop.
Thank you so much for sharing and spreading the word, Crystal!!
Thanks for spreading the word today.
Adoptions are just the best and every critter deserves that happiness!
They certainly do.
Two thirds of our pack are rescue and we are so lucky they chose us for their furr-ever home!
They simply enrich our lives so much, don’t they? ♥
We are joining in shining the light on adoptions for #RememberMeThursday! Thanks for sharing your story.
We are so glad that you joined in too, Melissa, I know you helped get the word out to a lot more people. ♥
Posted my pix of Ducky to IG and Twitter. That’s about all I can do today.
That’s all you needed to do, Sue, every little bit helps. ♥
We were surprised when we learned that less than a third of all pets in the US come from shelters and rescues. We need to change that. This is such a important message to get out. #RememberMeThursday
I find that quite surprising too. It is so sad how much need is out there.
we will remember with you… and we will help to get better laws for animals…
