When we got our first chickens and I later bought my first “chicken decor” for the house, I swore at the time I was not going to get carried away with it; there would only be one or two chickens in our house. After all, I have plenty of pretty chickens to look at outside. Famous last words, right?

As it turns out the decor seems to be just as addictive as the birds themselves, and not only has our flock continued to grow, my decor has as well! One or two items has become well over a dozen! The fun thing about collecting decor is that you can remember exactly where you got each piece. It becomes not just something you enjoy looking at, but something that brings back a happy memory. Whether it was a gift from a loved one or a special find at a shop when out with friends, each piece means something special.

When given a chance to try out a canvas print from a new startup company called “Art in a Sec“, where you make art work from your own photographs, it didn’t take me long to decide I needed to immortalize our rooster, Charlie, in art work! What fun that turned out to be!

At Art in a Sec you can get your favorite pet photograph turned into a beautiful piece of art, framed or unframed. Their company blends a passion for art, technology, and pets all into one. Artificial intelligence uses a special algorithm that simulates realistic brushstrokes. The process is simple: create an account, upload a photo, and then choose from numerous art styles including contemporary, modern, and abstract. I had so much fun using their program! I was able to create several different paintings of Charlie that I could choose from. You can watch the painting take shape right in front of your eyes! Once it’s complete, you can add it to your “wish list” to come back later and order.
I tried a few different ones, and it was a tough decision which I liked best, and the one I ended up choosing was called “Speculative Study”. I know I could have spent a lot more time trying different styles, making it even harder on myself to choose! Once you decide to order, you have a choice of 24 sizes, with prices starting at $59. It takes just 1-5 days to get your print on its way to you.
I wanted to share a bit more of my decor with you, and you might notice in some photos that my collecting includes wild birds, dogs, cats….all kinds of animals!

If you want to have some fun creating a nice piece of art for your wall of your favorite animal, I would recommend trying Art in a Sec! You can see more samples of what they have to offer on Instagram as well!
Do animals show up in your home decor?
What great chickens!
I love all of it, those painting are beautiful. Looks awesome!
Thank you, JoAnn!
I counted 5 chickens in the first photo but do roosters count? I LOVE all of your chicken decor! It’s quaint and charming! Love how your print turned out too! We have a TON of art here, as you would guess, it’s cat and dog 🙂
Roosters do count, so there was 8 in the photo. Thank you, Caren! I think the chicken decor suits our farmhouse, but we do have our dog and cat areas as well. 🙂
Our house is almost all dog decor with a sprinkling of cat here and there. Gramma has chickens all over her kitchen, but no real chickens. Your decor looks so perfect for farm type living.
Oh, I bet I’d love your Gramma’s kitchen! I think you’ve shown some of them here and there when you’ve visited her.
That art is beautiful. All these pieces are great. I havde a few rooster pieces because that is my Chinese sign.
That’s very cool! I don’t even know what my Chinese sign is, will have to look that up!
Your chicken and rooster collection is adorable! You’ve done a great job displaying it too.
Thank you! I take some of it down for Christmas decorations, so it’s fun to find new places for it again, though some of them have permanent spots (like my favorite one). 🙂
Chickens!! We have a lady at the nursing home whose room is decorated with them!! She would love yours:)
I have a chicken similar to the one in the second last image…only its mostly green and yellow.
Your collection is fab! I think your artwork of Charlie is wonderful!
I have lots of kitty decor, but actually I collect military drummers….most of which are in the form of nutcrackers…over 300 of them in all kinds of materials and sizes, from an inch or so, to almost 5 feet tall!
Wow – 300! I have some catching up to do! 🙂
(and now I need to look for one like your green and yellow one!)
Love your artwork! And the decor is quite lovely as well.
Thank you, Monika! It’s perfect for our farmhouse, so I guess it was bound to happen. 🙂
I love chicken and farm decor! Your collection is awesome.
Thank you! It’s really very popular right now, so it’s been easy to keep adding and adding! :
I love them all. Beautiful.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Lovies to handsome Luke. ♥
Thank you, Sandee! Luke sends smooches. ♥
We enjoyed seeing all of your chicken goodies, they are all pretty!
Thank you, Brian – so glad you enjoyed them!
I used to collect little trinkets and things. Until the summer (when I was in high school) we came back from our summer vacation to find that Kitty had … err … arranged things around a bit in my room. To be fair, she’d shredded a whole package of paper napkins and carried them into my room (individually? before the shred?) to create padding for the falling breakables (only partially successful). The whole thing was so incredibly unlike her – but I was clearly her person and she was clearly NOT happy we had left her alone. I’m not sure where all that stuff went. Since I’ve had Bear, I’ve had very little safe real estate for such things (and I stopped using ANY of it because it seemed to DARE him to figure out how to get at it).
If you have cats that get everywhere, that definitely makes decorating challenging! Though a lot of my chickens are unbreakable (wooden).
Your Kitty sounds like a smart one!
Love your chicken collectibles. They are so much fun and so colorful and the canvas print of Charlie is gorgeous!
Thank you, Molly! I really enjoy them.
