When we got our first chickens and I later bought my first “chicken decor” for the house, I swore at the time I was not going to get carried away with it; there would only be one or two chickens in our house. After all, I have plenty of pretty chickens to look at outside. Famous last words, right?
As it turns out the decor seems to be just as addictive as the birds themselves, and not only has our flock continued to grow, my decor has as well! One or two items has become well over a dozen! The fun thing about collecting decor is that you can remember exactly where you got each piece. It becomes not just something you enjoy looking at, but something that brings back a happy memory. Whether it was a gift from a loved one or a special find at a shop when out with friends, each piece means something special.

When given a chance to try out a canvas print from a new startup company called “Art in a Sec“, where you make art work from your own photographs, it didn’t take me long to decide I needed to immortalize our rooster, Charlie, in art work! What fun that turned out to be!
At Art in a Sec you can get your favorite pet photograph turned into a beautiful piece of art, framed or unframed. Their company blends a passion for art, technology, and pets all into one. Artificial intelligence uses a special algorithm that simulates realistic brushstrokes. The process is simple: create an account, upload a photo, and then choose from numerous art styles including contemporary, modern, and abstract. I had so much fun using their program! I was able to create several different paintings of Charlie that I could choose from. You can watch the painting take shape right in front of your eyes! Once it’s complete, you can add it to your “wish list” to come back later and order.
I tried a few different ones, and it was a tough decision which I liked best, and the one I ended up choosing was called “Speculative Study”. I know I could have spent a lot more time trying different styles, making it even harder on myself to choose! Once you decide to order, you have a choice of 24 sizes, with prices starting at $59. It takes just 1-5 days to get your print on its way to you.
I wanted to share a bit more of my decor with you, and you might notice in some photos that my collecting includes wild birds, dogs, cats….all kinds of animals!
If you want to have some fun creating a nice piece of art for your wall of your favorite animal, I would recommend trying Art in a Sec! You can see more samples of what they have to offer on Instagram as well!
