I am Sheba Keefe. I was born on October 25, 2004. I had this many brothers and sisters: 10! My canine Mom’s name was Chelsea and Dad’s Rab. But 8 weeks after I was borned, I went to a new home. The nice couple that was taking us home came and visited us lots of times. They picked me out of everyone because I was the biggest girl. They are now our Mom and Dad. I had already visited this new home a couple of times, wib my brother Moses. We had fun because there was two other dogs there too. They are beagles and now we all live together! We have two cats also. Sometimes I like to chase them, but then I get yelled at by Mom and Dad. That’s OK, because I am not sure what I am supposed to do when I catch them anyway. Me and Cricket just thinks it’s fun.
Here is some of the things I likes the most: chasing the ball, chewing on the ball, keeping the ball away from my sibalings. Digging holes. Daddy always yells at me for

that, but I just likes so much digging up rocks and stuff. We has a swimming pool to cool off in when it is hot and we is playing ball. Sometimes Mom and Dad take us to the lake….we gets to go for a walk, and then we gets to go swimming!! Mom and Dad throw the ball lots of times, way out, and I go get it. I am a really good swimmer. Moses is too chicken and he won’t go in above his belly. Hee hee. That’s OK, then I gets the ball all to myself! ‘Cept when they throw it in the shallow water so the baby (Moses) has a chance to get it.
I also like stuffy toys. I like to carry them around and chew on them. Then I likes to eat holes in them and pull all the stuffing out!! Mom and Dad yell at me for that too….they say “be nice” to my toys, but theys just have NO IDEA how much FUN it is to pull the stuffing out!! Hoomans are like that sometimes. They just don’t knows how much fun digging holes and pulling stuff apart is.

I has some nicknames. Daddy calls me Sheeby, and Mommy calls me Sheeby-Sheebs. That is so silly! She also calls me “Daffy Girl” and “Sweetie”. But my real name is Queen Sheba Keefe.
I used to jump on people a lot. Mommy and Daddy didunt like that, but I was just so excited to see people and I wanted them to pay attenshun to ME, ME, ME and not the other dogs! But they taught me that if I sit down and wait patiently I will get my turn. And they are so proud of me when I do it right. I has to concentrate really, really hard to contain myself. Mommy says she can see me just holding myself back and I am a good girl. So I tries not to forget myself.
I likes to eat too. I likes treats, but if there is ball around I would rather have my ball. I forget to chew the treats because I am so exciteds to get my ball! So they has to just give me little bites in case. I love supper time too though, and I like to do my little dance when they are carrying my food bowl to my special room. I do what Mom calls a 360. I has a special room becuz the other dogs would hover behind me waiting to get my bowl if I didn’t eat fast enough. So then I started to eat really fast, so they couldn’t get it! But Mommy and Daddy said that was bad. So now they gots me what Dad calls a “slow me down” bowl, and I get it in my very own room (which just happens to be the bathroom the rest of the time!).
Mommy likes to brush me and trim my nails and fur around my paws. This is so bothersome because I have to stand still to do it! I wants to be out running and doing stuff!! But sometimes I think it is nice to have that quiet time with my Mom. For about 5 minutes. Mommy says I have a very short attenshun span and maybe doggy ADD, whatever that is. Sometimes she just looks at me, shaking her head, and says I am a mess, and not very ladylike. Whatever. I don’t want to be a lady if it means I has to stay clean and stuff. Lately I am like my bruther Moses and I like to snuggle with Mom or Dad in the morning and gets lots of petting and scratching. Sometimes I can even lie still for that for 10 or 15 minutes!
I loves my Mom and Dad and all by sibulings. We have a nice house with lots of warm beds (I sleep on Mommy and Daddy’s bed at night). We have a big fenced in yard for playing ball. And we has lots of toys and treats. They say we are “spoiled” whatever that means. Whatever it is, I think it is a good thing becuz I am a very happy golden girl!
Sheba, Sheba, Sheba you are indeed SPOILED. Your brother Moses is now the only brother of yours that is not so sure about the swimming, but he is still CUTE. We love you and your brother, BIG HUGS, love your story and tell your Daddy (Jerk) now yelling at you because Grammy said so. 🙂
Thanks, Grammy, I will tell him so! Woof woof!
It sounds like she has the perfect name! 🙂
She certainly does try to live up to the “queen” part! 🙂
Love this post from Sheba, and love her even more-she is kinda my special girl for doggy nieces!
And Sheba loves her Aunty Lynn, who is also her pet sitter!
Oh Sheba what a beautiful, beautiful girl you are! You have an AMAZING smile!
I used to like to take the stuffing out of my toys too but I don’t do that anymore.
I wonder if I could swim like you? I have never tried.
I also love to play ball and I sometimes chase my kitty brother but we are the best of friends.
My Mom’s birthday is October 20 but she is older than dirt.
Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Thank you, Dakota! You are quite handsome yourself! I bet you could swim with me….I would teach you. You would probably not be chicken like Moses.
Woofs and hugs, Sheba
