In a previous Wordless Wednesday we gave you a little preview of Luke with the new Kong Jumbler toy. Everyone could guess from the photos that it was a hit with Luke!
The Kong Jumbler is a new interactive toy from Kong. It comes in two shapes: ball and football, and two sizes, M/L and L/XL. We got the M/L ball, which turned out to be the perfect size for Luke and the girls.
It has two handles for easy grabbing and interactive play, and it has a Kong tennis ball that rolls around inside. It squeaks too! Luke loved it the minute I handed it to him, but we had to put it to a further test and take it outside and see what kind of fun we could have with it. I think these photos will speak for themselves:

Now, what about the girls? Did they get a chance to play? They weren’t quite as interested in it. That’s nothing against the toy….you have to understand that both of these girls are going on 10 years old and they’re pretty set in their ways. They have certain toys that they like to play fetch with and they like to stick with those. However, when we’re outside playing fetch, we often have more than one toy in play so everyone gets more of a chance. The girls did show some interest though:
Luke kind of hogged it anyway!

I think Sheba really just wanted to take it under the deck and chew on it. That was the only con we found to this toy: it doesn’t stand up to rough chewing. It does say right on the label “Designed for light/moderate chewing.” Unfortunately, in this household we have mostly heavy chewers. Sheba always has been and Luke seems to be learning that from her. So this toy has to be in supervised play only, for us anyway. Luke did start to put some small holes in it when he was left for only a few minutes. That’s fine, we’re used to that around here, we have plenty of toys like that.
This is going to be fun to play with outside especially, and I have a feeling it will float in the pool too. We were going to put that to the test, but we’ve gotten rained out lately. This is a great interactive toy and we look forward to lots more fun with it….Luke gives it four paws up for sure!
Disclaimer: We were given one Kong Jumbler toy in exchange for our fair and honest review. We were in no other way compensated and Wag ‘n Woof Pets only shares products that we feel will be of interest to our readers.
We’re barking about this toy today so we’re joining the Thursday Barks and Bytes blog hop. Many thanks to our hosts 2 Brown Dawgs Blog and Heart Like a Dog. Please visit them and others through the links below!
That looks very fun and Luke looks so big!! My guys don’t typically chew on hard toys like that, but I do have a friend whose dog wore her teeth down because she carries a ball with a handle every where she goes.
Does the tennis ball come out?
And thank you for joining the blog hop!
Both Cricket and Sheba’s teeth are worn down from obsessively chewing balls. Hopefully Luke does not do that.
Luke is definitely getting big, but he hasn’t caught up to Sheba yet. Since he’s not even a year yet, he probably will.
The ball does not come out, at least it’s not supposed to, but I’m sure that’s what Sheba and Luke would try to do if I left them alone with it!
That looks like a great toy for out in the grass!! At home in the flat, I can imagine it gets noisy! 😛
Yes, I would say it’s definitely more suitable for outdoors play, since it squeaks and rattles it can get a bit noisy indoors! Plus it’s more fun to throw it I think!
This is my first time seeing this toy but it looks like a ton of fun! I love that it has a handle to grab on to, like the Jolly Ball which our boys love. Kong tennis balls are also a huge favorite so having one inside I am confident it would be a big hit!
We’ve always wanted to try the Jolly Ball too, but haven’t yet. Ours love the Kong tennis balls too since they squeak….but they wear them out pretty quickly!
I’ve never seen those before, thank you for the great review! Your gang looks like they love it, should help to keep them fit.
You’re welcome! I can’t wait to get it out and try throwing it in the pool. We’re having a pretty rainy spell here lately, but it looks like the sun will be back out by tomorrow so we can try it.
Looks like a great toy! I think Toby would love it. Funny, my girls are fussy too. Leah has ONE toy, a squeaky ball, that she plays with, while Meadow prefers soft toys she can shred.
Sheba loves to shred the soft toys too. Cricket won’t really play with them until Sheba has done some damage, which seems kind of weird! But she’ll always go for a ball first, and zisc after that. Luke is looking like he’s going to take right after Sheba too.
Fun to see them having so much fun…and Luke has gotten so big! He’s like a full grown dog now – is he going to get bigger?
We think he’s still going to get bigger, but his growth has slowed way down. Lately he seems like he’s filling out a little more instead of growing in length and height. But from what I’ve read he should keep growing up to a year old, and even longer if he’s going to a real big dog. So we’ll see!
You got some fabulous pictures and that toy looks like a lot of fun. Pretty sure mine would chew it. Too bad because I bet it would make for fun play. Thanks so much for joining the hop and sharing your review.
You’re welcome, I’m happy to join up!
It is a fun toy to watch them play with, but it won’t last if I ever forget to pick it up (not that I would do that…LOL).
That toy looks like a lot of fun! My new nephew might have to get one of those for Christmas this year since he likes to chase toys! Barley’s kind of hit or miss balls–sometimes she loves to chase them, but she seems to prefer to either snuggle with her stuffed toys or toss them into the air and play on her own. We do love Kong toys, though!
We have some other Kong toys that Luke loves too. This would be great for your nephew, it really is a lot of fun to watch them with it. The girls weren’t much interested in toys at all, but getting Luke has definitely renewed their interest!
Great photos – love the red toy with Luke’s B&W coat. Kong should hire him as a spokesdog! Looks like they all had a fabulous time!
Thanks! Wouldn’t that be cool! The red toy does really stand out with him…I think red is definitely his color.
Kong toys are a lot of fun! We have some catnip ones that we play with a lot.
Oh, I don’t think I knew they made toys for cats too. I’ll have to look for some for Sam.
They all have their own taste in toys. This one looks like fun.
They certainly do. Though right now Luke seems to love everything, but that’s probably because he’s still a puppy!
I wish I’d bought stock in Kong about ten years ago. Their products are great, fun and durable.
I agree! We have some of their other products, and they can be left with the dogs unattended. They totally helped us when Luke was young and being left alone in the mud room.
Hi Y’all!
Most toys won’t stand up to my jaws so my Human won’t allow me to have them unless she is with me. Think I’ll ask my Human to get me one of those…I love the squeaky ones and like to roll on them and make them scream!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka Browndog
We think you would have a ball (excuse the pun) with this toy, Hawk! We have very few toys that we can just leave out when we’re not there to monitor the play with them.
Thanks for coming by!
That toy looks like a ton of fun!!!
I know Koda would love it also. Maybe Lexus too, but Mika prefers stuffies to tear apart. I think each dog has their own preference to what toy they like to chew! We have pretty heavy chewers here also, but I think as long as you kept throwing it around for them, or monitoring them with it, it would be fine?
Just keep those monster Sheba teeth away haha!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Yes, Sheba’s teeth need to be kept away from just about everything! LOL
Yes, as long as we just keep this toy on the move, it will be fine. Luke took it off by himself when he put the small hole in it. At first he was just playing with it but then I heard sounds that made me suspect he was just chewing on it!
Bailie might like a toy like that, but Katie and I don’t play with toys much especially rubbery toys. It looks like Luke loves it.
The girls like the West Paw rubbery toys, but other than that Sheba just likes to destroy stuffed toys. I think a lot of dogs outgrow toys a bit, don’t you? Kobi definitely did….I don’t think he ever picked up a toy after he was about 5 years old! The girls have just shown a bit more interest since Luke came along.
I want that 🙂 BOL xxoxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
We think you would have a blast with it, Mollie!
xxxooo
Cute dogs, I love to see them having fun and enjoying life.
Thanks, Jim, so do I! 🙂
