We have been having a very dry early winter here in New England, in fact our autumn was quite dry too. It’s also been unseasonably warm. You would think this dryness would help keep the house cleaner, but the warmth just keeps creating mud in our yard as the frost melts each day. We have our house for sale and keeping it clean for showings is challenging enough…never mind when you have three dogs tracking in and out all day.
I had been getting slack about keeping the floors super clean before we put the house up for sale. Wiping paws was hit or miss, but we’ve had to change all that now. I’m also working hard to keep clutter to a minimum so I’m not running around putting endless things away every time someone is coming to see the house. If you have dogs who go outside a lot and come back wet or dirty you know what I’m talking about. What do you do with those towels that you constantly need to keep near the door? Here’s a sampling of where our old dirty towels that we use for dog clean up end up.
- There’s nothing like an old towel thrown over a dining room chair to dress up the room.
- It’s not bad enough we have a huge crate in our living room while we’re training Luke, a towel thrown over the door to dry just adds a little something more, doesn’t it?
- Towels thrown on the floor next to the door is always attractive.
- My favorite is throwing it over the deck rail where it stays for a week because I can never remember to bring it inside when it’s dry!
Therefore, I was happy to give Luv & Emma’s Dry Pets Plus towel a try. Not only is this towel made of super absorbent microfiber material, it has a slit sewn in it so it conveniently hangs right on a doorknob. It comes in two sizes, Luv & Emma’s original, for smaller pets, and Luv & Emma’s Dry Pets Plus for large dogs and multiple pet households. The Plus size towel has two slits in it, one on each end, so that it does not drag on the floor! It is also large enough to be used as a bath towel.
Sure, you can hang any old towel over a doorhandle, but in this case you can actually use the handle when the towel is hanging there without having to move it first! This towel dries quickly, and I also like that it is stylish. If I accidentally leave it hanging when we have a house showing, I don’t feel like some potential buyer will be looking at it with disdain like they would my collection of old towels!
As you can see in the below photo as it is being modeled by Sheba and Luke, this towel is very good size. It actually measures 36 x 23 inches. It is soft and comfortable enough to wear! I found this material to be more absorbent than some other microfiber towels I have used as well.
I like that this towel was designed by three sisters who saw a need that had to be filled. The product is named after two of their own dogs, seen in the photo below. The towels are hand sewn in the USA, and the minimal packaging is recyclable. The price is reasonable and they are actually on sale right now.

Well, thanks to google putting a lot of my mail in the junk folder, I never had the chance to enter the giveaway. Shoot! I could use one of the the larger towels! When is this freakin rain gonna stop?! Enough already!
Now on to reading the rest of your posts of the last week.
Aw, Sue, I’m so sorry you missed out on the giveaway! How dare google consider our emails junk??!! 🙂
Our rain has finally turned to snow, much to the dogs’ delight. I’d be fine with it too, except we were supposed to be headed to visit the grandsons today! It doesn’t snow all winter so far…until the day we want to travel! Figures. Well, we’ll still get a day trip in tomorrow anyway.
I usually throw them in the clothes basket and then wash them with a load. I rarely use a towel twice, two large dogs make the towel a mess.
I have mine by the front door in the hallway.
I have a cupboard above the dryer with old towels for wiping off dirty dogs.
Right next to the back door.
On the porch railing or on the doorknob.
We usually hang them on a rack in the laundry room
I usually hang a towel used for drying the dogs after being in the rain over the back of a chair.
We don’t have a designated spot for dog towels.
We just have a shelf in the closet for towels and use which ever are around…ours, our theirs
We keep a towel by the door.
I always use our regular towels on the dogs and just give them a good wash afterwords.
We’ve got one and we love it!
I have a shelf in the garage for them; old towels get demoted to pet towels!
That’s how it worked here too. I’m not sure what I’ll do with all my old towels, if this one can take the place of most of them! 🙂
We have a further level of demotion (the last stop for towels); cleaning the garage floor!
I usually just put it on a chair or the sofa, I do not have an specific place
The term “hang” implies that they’re stored somewhere. For us, we toss them on the floor, wash them, then do the cycle all over again!
I hang them on a drying line in the basement.
Very clever. We hang them by the door or coat closet.
We toss them over a chair close to the door. I had a hook, but hubby accidentally pulled it out and hasn’t put it back yet. On the to-do list!
i hang them in the laundry room, off the edge of the ironing boardm which is folded up and leaning against the wall. if the towels are dirty i hang them over the rails on the porch til they dry and stick them in the washing machine.
Very nice solution. We don’t have a set spot for dog towels right now.
We live in a tiny studio so when Layla comes in wet she jumps and rolls all over the bed so I have started covering the bed with towels, my house looks like a laundry at this moment with towels every where drying off so would love one that absorbs as much as possible – woof thank you for the give away
I’ve come to the conclusion that you probably can’t be a “neat freak” if you have dogs! I used to be obsessive about no clutter, and a clean house all the time. I think it’s the dogs that cured me of that. 🙂 Good luck in the giveaway, sounds like you could definitely use it!
over the sink in the shed. this is a clever idea, love it! Great review!!
Very creative towel solution.
We have carpet at the back door so I resorted to spreading out a queen size flannel top sheet on the floor so our Golden Retriever Bentley had plenty of room to walk the water off his paws or lie down before hitting carpet.
That reminds me of winters when we have snow around here. The goldens get those snowballs all built up on their legs, paws, and underneath, and I’d have sheets thrown all around for them to melt off on! Sheba still always manages to find the corner of the floor where I didn’t put a sheet though! 🙂
We love our Love & Emma’s towel!
Did you post about selling your house? If so I must have missed that one. It’s such a pain trying to keep the house looking all tidy while it’s for sale! Lol about how the messy towels “dress up a room”! We have the same issue when the weather is bad, but that’s rare here so I’ll let others have the chance to win. When it’s rainy here, we also have the ol’ towel hanging on the door handle. Classy! And Rita has to do “the dance of dryness” as we call it before she can come inside again.
I think I only mentioned selling the house here and there. I’ve tried not to say too much because I don’t want to jinx it. We’ve found a house we really, really want so we’re more anxious now. At first we just thought if we sold fine, if we couldn’t get what we wanted we’d just stay here (which could still happen), but the house we found would really be awesome.
I will definitely be happy when it’s over with, that’s for sure! Things have been quiet through the holidays though so we’ve had a little break from the constant housework (I’d really love to hire a housekeeper right now…LOL).
So many awesome products!! This looks like a really good one!!
What a cool idea! The mom says she would use it on our dad-guy. 😉
I typically just throw the towels ver a kitchen chair after drying off my dogs. I love that this towel is made to hang on the door knob.
This looks like a great product! We keep dog towels in our coat closet currently.
I love my Luv & Emma’s Dry Towel. I used it last night to bathe the boys. Before I got mine, I’d go through six towels drying off two dogs. Now, my one large Luv & Emma’s will dry the excess water from both dogs! We have had an extra rainy fall and it is usually on our back door. Good luck to you entries. Everyone needs one of them. ☺
I agree! We’re actually starting to get some wet weather now too, and having that hanging on the door is so convenient. Plus it easily dries off three wet dogs!
I hang them by my front door!
We entered cause we need that towel at our door
Happy Holidays
Lily & Edward
Good luck, and Happy Holidays to all of you too!
This is something I could use right now. Torrey is always wet, and I have never seen mud like there is here.
And best of luck with the house sale.
Thank you, Mary!
Even when you get back to drier weather, this can be great for using after baths and swims too – Torrey does like going in the water, doesn’t she?
What a great product. I never would have thought to use a microfiber towel. Currently we just use old bathtowels that have been recycled to the pets but they get so heavy with the water after drying them off…I usually have to wash them straight away instead of drying them.
I used to do the same, though I did have two other microfiber towels that I used only for their baths. We were throwing old towels on the floor for them to walk on too, but I got really tired of tripping over them! LOL Good luck in the giveaway!
We’re not entering because we have a towel from Luv Emmas, we just wanted to say that we think they are pawfect too! We use ours ALL of the time! Good luck to all who enter!
Thank you for letting us know you love yours too, Caren!
Mom has paw shaped towel mitts with dark towel fabric for the paw pads she sewed herself. We have those hanging on the doors and they work great. Gotta always have a towel by the door.
Those sound like something your Mom could sell too! 🙂
I love this towels…and we had one on our door too…. till… well ya know :o) :o):o)
Yes, I think we can figure that one out, Easy! Let’s hope the same doesn’t happen to ours! 🙂
