Today’s food review brought to you by Samantha!
Hi folks, Sam here! Conrad and I are finally starting to get more equal time. The dogs recently got to try new food, so why shouldn’t we too? The Momz had been doing a lot of research into dog foods, but not really much into cat food. We had changed foods last year, but Momz had just taken the advice of the knowledgeable lady at the pet supplies store, and trusted that it was good quality. But since switching the dogs’ food, she’d been thinking a lot about us cats too, but didn’t really know what to look for.
Well, when she got this opportunity to try some new food, I made sure she jumped on it! We read up on this Wellness Pet Food and we liked what we read, and were so pleased we got selected for this campaign.

Of course, for me and Conrad, the most important thing is how it tastes! We got to try dry food as well as Divine Duos wet food. We like them both! The Divine Duos are pretty cool….they are layers of paté with chunks of meat and veggies in gravy on top! I have to confess though that I only ate the paté and licked out the gravy. That’s OK, because Mom gave the chunks to Conrad and he scarfed ’em right up!

Now I’ve done the important part, told you how good it is, and Momz is going to finish up and tell you why SHE likes it! This is the boring part for me, so I think I’ll head out to the porch and hang out in the fresh air now!
From the Momz: I am just as concerned about the cats’ health as I am the dogs. Both cats are getting on in years, they are definitely seniors at 12 and 16 years old. We need to do everything we can to keep them healthy as they age. We are trying the Complete Health Salmon, Salmon Meal, & Deboned Turkey Recipe. Here are some of the features of Wellness dry cat food that impressed me:
- Promotes healthy muscle tone.
- Supports skin and coat health.
- There are no artificial colors or preservatives, and no corn, soy, or wheat.
- Promotes a healthy immune system.
- Triple cranberry blend.
Now you may be wondering like I did what the triple cranberry blend is all about. It’s really very interesting! Cranberries are known to benefit urinary tract health and this is very important for cats. We once had a cat that had urinary tract infections quite frequently. Wellness adds not just cranberries, but whole cranberries, super concentrated cranberry extract, and highly concentrated cranberry fiber as well!
Another thing I didn’t know is how important water is to cats’ health. Well, I knew it was important but I didn’t know that cats don’t have a strong thirst drive, so it is best to get water into them through their food. We didn’t always feed wet food, but now I know that we should. The Divine Duos wet recipes not only help promote hydration for your cat, but they are grain free and each flavor contains two proteins. We tried the flavor seen to the left here, but they also have these other yummy flavors:
- Chicken Paté with diced turkey or salmon
- Beef Paté with diced chicken liver
- Tuna Paté with diced salmon
- Chicken Paté with diced duck
Samantha, Conrad and I are all happy we got the opportunity to try this food. Wellness Pet Foods is a pioneer in holistic nutrition, and they are always seeking ways to help pets thrive, as well as to educate pet parents on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. They also support animal wellness programs through their WellPet Foundation.

Those look like great foods. I wonder if Miss Finicky would like them. lol
It’s tough when you have a finicky one, isn’t it? She just might though!
We just discovered the Wellness brand for our cats too. You have beautiful cats and I can tell they truly enjoy this food. Thanks for the great review.
Thank you, and I’m glad you enjoyed our review.
Great review. I’m glad your cats liked it. I LOVE the kibble but TW doesn’t give me too much for the reasons you’ve mentioned.
We used to get nothing but dry kibble…thank goodness Mom smartened up about that! We love both.
Love, Sam
Y’all hit the yummy jackpot and that was a darn good review!
Thank you, and we sure did!!
Thanks for the review Samantha- nice job. Looks like great treats.
Thank you for coming by to read it! You know us cats, we really live to eat, so we’re happy to accommodate! hee hee
Love Sam
Our kitties saved the carrots for last, but eventually licked the bowls clean!
It was so cool to see actual chunks of veggies in cat food! Times have certainly changed, haven’t they? Wet cat food used to be just a bland brown mush. 🙂
Sam, you and Conrad did a great job reviewing your new food. I had a cat die very quickly from F.U.S. years ago. The vet told me it was due to only eating dry cat food. I know the quality of food has improved tremendously since that time. It is good to get wet food in your diet though. ♥ ♥
Thank you! We agree, much of the dry food these days is formulated to help with FUS, but you can’t be too safe we say. Plus we like the wet food A LOT!
Love, Sam & Conrad
What is the dog blog world coming to? I can’t believe how we are being forced to share posts with our cats! You kitties look real nice and I am happy you found some healthy food you like! Hope the dogs will get over the shock of giving up a post to the cats!
Don’t you worry, Emma, I think the dogs have some sort of revenge/payback planned….stay tuned. 🙂
Great review! I really enjoyed this post, and I have heard a lot about this brand, but have never fed it. I learned the hard way about cats need for wet food :/
My male cat suffered a urinary block due to crystals forming in him. He could not pee because he was completely blocked. This is very common in male cats apparently. He got REAL sick REAL fast! Luckily we got him to the vet in time, they said he would have passed within hours. They drained his bladder, gave him antibiotics, and pain killers, plus a prescription wet food diet.
Needless to say, I now feed him mostly wet food, with some dry as well.

Thanks, Jenna! Our cat Don started peeing in the bathtub and we saw blood in it, but luckily he didn’t have a blockage yet. That must have been so scary for you. He went on prescription food too. I think somewhere along the line a vet told us that wet food was bad for cats’ teeth and that’s why we had stopped feeding it. Unfortunately, a lot of times we don’t learn these things until something bad happens, so I’m glad I know this now, and will continue to feed wet and dry as well.
Great review! Wellness is supposed to be really healthy food so I am glad the kitties liked it. I knew about a cat’s very minimal thirst drive…they don’t get thirsty like dogs or humans and water doesn’t rehydrate them the same way as it does us….so I am glad you are now feeding some wet food!
Oz
Thanks, Oz! I had heard of this brand, but didn’t really know much about it, and now I’m glad we’ve tried it.
I can’t believe I never knew that about cats’ thirst drive. Luckily we had started adding wet food to their diet when Sam had to take pills, and continued with it even when she was done.
We’ve not seen this food in our stores but it sounds like good stuff. I like my wet food to be “sloppy” and Mom adds water to it which helps me keep up on my liquids intake too….I’m now 14 so Mom’s keeping a close eye on me….I’m getting more and more picky about food (and everything else!). Thanks for a good review – we’ll keep an eye out for this.
Hugs, Sammy
I should start adding a bit of water to their wet food too, that’s a great idea. You must like the gravy just like our Sam does! You seniors are very special, Sammy, so we do have to keep a close eye on you. Glad you enjoyed the review….we think you would like this food if you give it a try.
Great review Samantha and the Momz! Glad you kitties enjoyed your food. It looks very tasty… if I were a cat that is.
Thank you! You would definitely love it if you were a cat! 🙂
What a great review, I’d say they liked it!
Thanks, I think it was definitely a hit!
