Over a year ago, I posted a photo called “Waiting” showing Cricket and Sheba on the office couch waiting for Daddy to come home. Some things have changed since then….we got a new couch, and Cricket has a new partner on top of the couch to keep an eye out.
It took Luke a while before he could even get up on the couch, which he was quite excited to accomplish, and then the next goal was to get up on the back.
After all, he has to help his sister keep an eye on things. Cricket wasn’t happy at first to have her space invaded, but eventually they settled into their own spots up there, and now they are both happy.
When Daddy is home, or nothing is going on outside, there might be some shifts in location as well as some sleeping on the job.
Someone is going to have to break it to Luke that he is growing like a weed, and he might get too big to lay up there anymore! Somehow, I’m thinking he’ll find a way. We’ll get back to you on that down the road.
Many thanks to our hostesses Sugar the Golden Retriever and Dachshund Nola for today’s blog hop Please visit their blogs and others through the links below.
Love the photos! Such adorable pups!
Thank you!
He’s really getting big!! Funny thing, neither one of my dogs has ever laid on top of the couch. I wonder if it’s because the couch isn’t in front of the window or a different reason.
I think the window is the main attraction….they don’t do that on the downstairs couch very much. My office used to be our bedroom and when the bed was in front of the window they all hung out there. Though until Luke came along Cricket was the only one that ever got up there once it changed.
Oh that is so cute. I’m looking forward to seeing how he manages to lie up there as he grows bigger. 🙂
It should be interesting!
LOL I wonder whether Luke will find it comfy once he is full grown.
I can’t imagine that he will, if he gets as big as we think he might!
There is nothing more comfy than a brand new leather couch!! I love the pic with Daddys feet! so cute.
We all love that couch! Daddy loves to take a nap there and the dogs are so happy when he does.
The back of the couch is my favorite spot too! Great photos!
Happy Monday,
Oz
You must have a good view too then, Oz! Thank you, and have a great week!
Those are such adorable photo’s, Alf sits on the back of the couch but if I did that the Humom would have a hizzy fit BOL xxxoxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Thanks, Mollie. I don’t know, maybe you should try it! BOL
xxxxooooo
You’ve got some adorable lookouts! My Sadie loves keeping lookout at the bay window, but she needs a boost to get up the back of the couch.
Thanks! Both Cricket and Luke are pretty agile, but Cricket is getting older so she may need a boost some day too!
I loved seeing the past and the current! What a great family, dogs always seem to work things out, they have their pack to determine where who goes where. Love Dolly
Pees: Would make a great #ThrowbackThursday planning on having one this week.
They really do work things out. Oh, I should have thought of this for Thursday…but I actually only decided to throw in the old photo at the last minute! It does give me another idea for Thursday though so right now I am planning on joining you this week!
That is way too cute! I bet Luke will figure out a way to get up on the back of the couch no matter how big he gets!
I do think that’s a safe bet!
How adorable. I have a little percher too. She like the bay window. 🙂
There’s nothing like sitting in the window keeping an eye on things!
That’s a great place to watch. What cool pics!
Thanks! Our cat Samantha does like to sit up there and watch also, but I haven’t been able to get a photo of her!
I think Luke will probably take up 2/3 of the top of the couch and poor Cricket will be left with 1/3. It always funny when they realize they suddenly don’t fit where they used to.
Oh boy, I bet you are right! Our golden Moses at over 70 lbs, always still thought he was a little lap dog!
I just love these! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for coming by and sharing them with us, Caren!
Aww!! That is so cute!!
My huskies do their best to lay on the back of the couch to BOL! And they are not small dogs!! Haha!! Its too funny! I always tell them they are wannabe cats.ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
They’re sure not….you should get some photos! I used to think it was funny when just little Cricket did it, I would tell her “you’re not a cat, you know”! It’s going to be hysterical when Luke continues to do it.
Size is all in your head. I still enjoy curling up in the cat cozy with my 38 lbs like I did as a small pup. So what if I hang out all over…I feel small 🙂 Luke will figure it out, he is a smart boy!
You are so right, Emma, size is just in your head. I am sure I’ll be sharing photos of Luke up there one day down the road! Just like the one of him squished in the cat bed just like you.
Do you think all three of them will fit up there at once?
Sheba has never tried to go up on top of the couch. The most she will do is rest her chin there. I think that’s because she was already big by the time we moved the couch there (that room used to be our bedroom).
Love the photos. Our Sally used to sleep up on the top of the couch like that too. I agree that Luke will always find a way to be up there.
None of our large dogs have ever tried to do that, but I don’t think we ever had a couch in front of the window when they were smaller and might have started to try it.
LOL. The back of the couch is Roxy’s favorite spot. Especially if there is sunshine.
Oh yes, it’s best when there’s sunshine up there, which here is in the morning. Our cat Samantha will also be up there when the sun is on it.
Larger n comfier couch 🙂 Happy Black n White Sunday. Golden Woofs
Definitely! Happy B&W Sunday, Sugar!
Great series of photo. Everyone looks really happy and comfortable.
Thank you, Mark. They definitely are comfy! BTW, we’ve gotten some of your rope toys, and the dogs LOVE them!
lol that is awesome, my 70# dogs will lay up there also.
That’s not really surprising, considering that at least one of your 70# dogs is agile enough to get up on the dining room table! lol
Years ago, I had a dog who laid on the back of the couch just like that. Cute story.

Thank you. It’s something I just never saw anyone except for our cats do, until Cricket and then Luke came along!
