No, these are not our pets! But they were frequent visitors to our yard this Winter, and provided a lot of entertainment for the dogs. The dogs spent much time at the gate of our fenced in yard barking at these deer, to the point where the deer no longer ran away when they heard them. The deer stay down in the woods more now, but the dogs will still hear them moving around, or smell them, and bark away!

Great pictures. I cannot even begin to imagine what I would do if I saw even one deer. Birds and squirrels are exciting enough!
Thank you! Yes, those deer are alot bigger than birds and squirrels, so I bet you would bark too!
Wow it looks like you were able to get awfully close to them! Amazing!
I’d like to say I’m that good, Ann, but the photos were taken by a game camera which my hubby had attached to a tree in the yard. It automatically goes off when it detects movement. 🙂
Oh deer! We had deer in the yard in Germany. My sister would bark at them at night and my Gramma has some here in the US but I am not real interested in them. Mom thinks they are beautiful.
Your Mom is right, they are beautiful, Emma! I’m surprised you didn’t bark at them too….because if one of our dogs barks, the others all do too!
That’s one thing i miss about our house. We always had lots of deer.
It is alot of fun seeing them. This is the first year we’ve really seen them a lot though.
Great photos! We have the same type of visitor here at the bottom of our yard, which I strongly suspect is why none of my bulbs are showing any sign of emerging!
Thanks, Coralee. Yes, I am hoping they don’t visit that part of the yard once my flowers come up….my hubby already did chase them out of the yard once when he saw one chewing on our young cherry tree!
Interesting visitors & great photos…I’m sure the doggies were just barking their welcome.
Yes, I imagine that was it! Thank you!
Wow, we get those visitors in our yard too!! Great B&W~
Thank you, Finn. It’s fun to see them, isn’t it?
those photos are PERFECT for black and white Sunday! I just love deer, they have the sweetest faces
Thank you, Caren! I know, they are just so pretty and sweet.
