I’m so glad to be joining 2 Brown Dawgs Blog once again for the This ‘N That Thursday blog hop, ” It’s a little of this, and a little of that, and everything inbetween”!
We won a Do-G Bag
Last month, our friend Ann over at Pawsitively Pets held a giveaway for the Scoop that Poop Campaign blog hop, and we were lucky enough to win! Now, if you didn’t see that post, you might be wondering just what a Do-G Bag is!
This lovely crossbody style purse is made to carry the plastic bags with your dog’s poop in them, in a 100% waterproof liner! It is designed and sold by Nancy at LiveLoveandBark.com. The waterproof pocket closes with Velcro to help contain the smell. There is another pocket on the front for carrying all your other items you might take on a walk. Here is everything I could fit in there:
These are the items I might normally carry on a walk. As you can see, you can fit a lot in there! I don’t always take water, but if I do the water bottle sticks out just a little bit from the top. The bag measures 8 x 10. Each bag is handmade in New York of high quality quilted material. The waterproof liner is easy to wipe clean or you can just throw it in your washing machine. The strap is 52 inches long, but you can also order a custom bag if you prefer a shorter strap, or if you would prefer a different color.
I love my new handbag….no one has to know what it’s true purpose is when you’re out on a walk! It is lightweight and convenient, as well as stylish. You can visit LiveLoveandBark to order your own Do-G Bag. While you’re there, check out the other high quality items that they sell, including custom dog beds and treat jars! They also have a Facebook page, and are on Twitter.
Lots Going on in the Pet Blogging World
I want to share just a few of the exciting things going on with some of my pet blogging friends and colleagues:
Today is the official release of this book by Emma at MyGBGVLife.com. Go on over to her website, and be sure to watch the video! Then follow the links to get your very own copy. I am very much looking forward to getting my own. If you don’t know Emma, then you should! I know the book is going to be very entertaining!
I reviewed Jackie Bouchard’s first book, What the Dog Ate, a couple weeks ago and also gave you a preview of her latest book, seen here, which is now also available. I have started reading it, and I love it! I’ll be writing a review once I get it finished. The great news here is that Jackie has pledged to donate 10% of her book sales to Morris Animal Foundation, through the rest of this year. MAF is a non-profit group which does extensive cancer research in animals, as well as investing in other science to advance veterinary care. You may know that we recently lost our golden retriever Moses to cancer, so this is a cause that is very important to me (and to Jackie as well). You can read more about this here on Jackie’s blog, and also find links to order her book.
You could also win a copy by visiting Flea’s blog over at Jones Natural Chews!
Last but not least, our friends over at SlimDoggy have started a wonderful new program called PetsMove. The goal of this program is to get people off the couch and moving with their pets! Health and fitness is just as important for our pets as it is for us, and this program will benefit both. You can track your activity with your dog, and your dogs diet; as well as joining up with like-minded folks for support and exchanging tips and information. Head on over and see what it’s all about….get yourself signed up and you’ll have lots of fun. Look for me over there, my member name is “Jan at WagNWoof”. I still have a lot of work to do on my profile to get started, but I’m there! This is for anyone at any level of activity, you don’t have to be “hard core” to sign up, you just have to care about keeping yourself and your dogs healthy!

Love the poop-purse…what a great idea!
It really is, isn’t it? I wish I had that kind of talent for making things like that.

I got Emma’s book today. Looking forward to reading it!
Cool bag! Congrats on the win!
You’re welcome, Jackie! I am on vacation next week and getting your book finished is high on my list of fun things to do.
The bag is really cool, isn’t it, I love winning stuff, because it’s the type of thing I probably wouldn’t just buy for myself.
That’s a nice bag 😉 And it sounds like you are enjoying the new books! Have a good weekend!
Thanks! Now I just need more time to read though, there never seems to be enough! I’m on vacation this coming week though, so I’ll definitely be doing lots then.

It really is handy, and so pretty too!
Hi Y’all!
What a neat idea!
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Someone is always thinking, aren’t they Hawk? I’d love to come up with one of those neat ideas too!
Congrats on winning the Do-G-Bag. I use one like that when I go to the shelter. It keeps little necessities in it. 🙂 So nice of you to give a shout out about Emma’s and Jackie’s books and talking about Petsmove.org! Nice to see bloggers share the love!
Thanks, Bren! Pet bloggers have a great community, and I enjoy being a part of it and supporting each other!
Cool gift! Congrats on winning.
Thanks, Ruckus!
Thanks so much for joining TNT and do the round up on all of the new stuff in blogville! You new purse looks like a great thing to take on a walk. I always have trouble carrying all my stuff, the lead and the bags. 🙂
It’s a great blog hop, it gives me a chance to talk about the little things that don’t seem to need a whole blog post.
I know, I’m always juggling things when I walk, stuffing things in my pockets and then not remembering which pocket I put what in! 🙂
You have mentioned some of my favorite things today…We’re reading Emma’s book right now and love PetsMove.org…We’ve entered Flea’s giveaway and congratulate you on winning that cool bag
Thanks! We do have lots in common then! I need to find some more time to spend on PetsMove though….I’ve just barely gotten started.
What a nice this and that post and thank you so much for posting about my new book! Mom and I really appreciate any marketing help we can get! You are pawsome!
You’re welcome, Emma! I am happy to help, and once I get it and read it, I’ll do a review also.
