Many thanks to our blog hop hostess, Dachshund Nola. Please visit her and other participants through the links at the end of the post!
All the dogs had baths recently, and what’s the first thing the girls wanted to do after theirs?
They were persistent, and apparently think we’re stupid and didn’t know what they intended to do out there. It was quite chilly out that day and I didn’t want to let them out for long when they were damp anyway. Eventually we had to give in, and the first thing Cricket did was roll in the grass (at least it was the grass and not the dirt)!
We haven’t always been big on giving the dogs baths. Recently we had a problem with fleas, the first time ever, so that’s what motivated us. My hubby and I both put on our bathing suits and took each dog into the walk in shower, and we were both surprised at how good they all were. It was really kind of fun and I think we’ll do it more often now! (Don’t tell them that though).
Yup mine do the same thing. They look beautiful.
Thanks! It’s so nice to have them clean and shiny and soft!
So funny. Toby does the same thing after his bath. Must roll!
I’m pretty sure it’s a dog law or something. 🙂
Aw… they are just too cute!
Thanks! We sure think they are!
LOL they thought they were smarter than you. Can’t be too clean for too long!
No, we wouldn’t want that now, would we? 🙂
This weekend these guys got their first baths since we’ve lived in Louisiana. They were due. Overdue. The second Lucas was finished, he found a pile of something gross and rubbed his face in it. He HATES baths, but he’s practically begging to get one every weekend…
You’d think they would learn, but they certainly don’t, do they? 🙂
Oh, yes, Rita loves to roll in the dirt or some grass after a bath! She hates having a bath, so I confess we don’t bathe her that often. It used to not be a problem because I’d at least hose her down after a trip to the beach, but since we don’t go to the beach anymore, I should probably increase the bath frequency!
We’ve been so bad about it in the past, that I think some of the dogs had their first bath ever in the last year! The girls are in their pool a lot in the summer though, and in the winter the snow keeps them pretty clean.
We bathe Donna every week, it helps with her shedding and we just like her to be clean 🙂
She must be pretty used to it then, and doesn’t mind much?
I hate baths but I wouldn’t mind a walk in shower BOL.. Go get dirty girls BOL xxoxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
The walk in shower is awesome, I have to say!
xxoo
I take the pups in with me when I shower or bathe them in the kitchen sink. They like to roll on the carpet afterwards.
That is the way to do it. Ours are too big for the kitchen sink, except for Cricket. I had her in the bathroom sink one time when she was itchy from fleas. We don’t have much carpet, so that really wasn’t an option for them!
My dogs always want to do the same thing after their baths. We don’t do them often, it’s always a chore, but it’s fun to see what they do afterwards. 🙂
It’s just too funny that they go straight to the door….and even though I made Cricket wait a while, she still rolled in the grass very first thing!
We only do doggie baths once a year or maybe even less, as mine is a Border Terrier and too many baths strip this breed of the protective oils in their coat so!
I knew what yours wanted to do before I even saw the photos!
I think they say you shouldn’t bathe any dog too often. We took that to mean pretty much never! 🙂 I think we’ll try to do them every 2 months or so except for in the winter when they really shouldn’t need it as long as we get snow.
We don’t do baths often unless we had too much fun and Mom says we stink but she always just gets undressed, covers the bathroom in towels and then gets in the tub or shower with us as she gets about as wet as we do! After the bath, we do zoomies around the house and she cleans the bathroom.
Your Mom definitely has the right idea….that’s the only way to do it! We won’t need to bathe them in the Winter, I don’t think, because they stay pretty clean plowing through the snow.
That sounds like a good idea. I always give mine a bath in the bathtub and it is a pain getting them in and out of the tub! I think I will try your way.
If you have a shower, it’s the only way to go. So much easier on the back!
LOL. these guys do they same thing, if given half the chance. They look cute and fluffy.
I love them all cute and fluffy and clean! That’s why I’d like to do it more often.
That sounds like a good way to do it. I’ve been telling Trixie that she needs a bath, she rolled in something foul smelling, but I haven’t gotten the courage to put her in the bathtub.
It kills my back leaning over the tub, which is the way we’ve done Cricket, who loves to roll in stinky stuff. Just get right in the tub with her, trust me, it’s just easier!
Baths more often means rolling in the grass more often- why wouldn’t they love that?
You’re so right! We need to get them to see it that way. 🙂
I knew exactly what they wanted to do because that’s what ours do. They are due for a bath/shower too…maybe today if I get motivated!
It’s just too funny….their way of getting back at us!
I need to thank you too, because you’re the ones that gave us the idea to do it in the shower instead of the tub! It’s so much easier!
