Cricket had an excellent birthday weekend full of fun and special treats! I had to work the morning of her birthday but when I got home we had a pretty long game of fetch – she lasted longer than she has in a while lately! We got some fun video that we’ll share at the end of this post.

Saturday morning the Dadz took Luke for a ride, so Cricket and I got to have a girls-only walk while they were gone! That afternoon I baked some Puppy Cakes sugar cookies, and that night she and Luke shared cookies and Puppy Cakes vanilla ice cream*!

There was more ball playing and walks over the weekend (Sunday she took a day of rest since it was pouring rain all day). In fact, on Monday she had two rounds of fetch, one with the Dadz and one with me. That afternoon I thought I’d take Luke for a short walk while she was resting, but she insisted that she wanted to go with us so she did.

I’d say all of that means she’s feeling pretty good (though she does still have her cough sometimes so we may have to consult with the vet this week about that). You can see how good her energy level is and the fun she’s having in the video.
Don’t forget Cricket is giving away some of her favorite things as part of her birthday festivities, so if you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, be sure to click here – it’s open through the end of the week!

That was such a fun birthday dance! You rock cricket!!
Thank you, JoAnn!!!! ♥
I love how her tail never stops wagging. That’s a happy girl right there!
She is such a happy little dog, and she just makes the most of everything! ♥
How sweet! what a wonderful birthday celebration.
Aw, watching the video this morning – even without sound so it wouldn’t wake anyone – made me smile! Cricket is such a cutie-patootie! Smiling and wagging that tail a mile a minute. I’m so glad she had such a great birthday weekend! And I think she had more fun trying to get the ball from Luke than if he had just let her take it. Happy 13th Birthday Cricket! And many more!!
Thank you!! I think Luke helps to keep the game more interesting for her! 🙂
SO darn cute she is, looks like an Awesome birthday celebration-for all, but mostly her!!
Oh Cricket, I’m so glad you had a blast on your Birthday sweet one!
What a fun-filled celebration! Cricket gets around terrific for a 13-year-old. She sure was having a blast with the ball. Luke is just being a typical kid brother! BOL! We love you, Cricket!
She does get around good, doesn’t she? And she hasn’t even been on her arthritis meds either!
We’re so glad Cricket had a great birthday! Heck … I’D love a birthday like that! She’s simply amazing.
I’d be SO happy if someone made me cookies and ice cream for MY birthday! 🙂
A tail wagging cutie for sure. Looks like she had a ball (even if she likes the orange one better). 🤣
She used to get fixated on one ball, and would absolutely refuse to play with any other one. She’s learned over the years to be just a little more flexible, when she has to! 🙂
This was just the cutest and we LOVE how she barked at the end! I am so glad she got the ball from Luke! That tail was going a mile a minute and she was SMILING! I couldn’t believe her energy running in the yard too! This video is priceless, so happy to see that she had such a fabulous birthday celebration! Thank you for sharing! xoxo
I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing our happy little girl in action, Caren! xxoo
Happy 13th Birthday my birthday friend.
Thank you, Crystal! ♥
Happy 13th Birthday cutie!
Thank you, Ellen! xxoo
What a fun birthday you had, Cricket! Your treat looks amazingly tasty.
That looks like a fun birthday, Cricket!
We think she enjoyed it!!
ooooh ice cream…love the video… your tail is wagging all the time… even while trying to get your ball back :o) we grinned while reading about Luke and the ball, the mama once thought Easy will behave because it is her birthday (he did the opposite)… my dad looked at her puzzled like a jigsaw and said: why should he?
Yup, I think your Dad was right on that one – but at least Cricket stays happy even when her brother is not playing right! 🙂
