Thank you to The Lazy Pit Bull for hosting the #52Snapshots of Life challenge. Are you joining in the fun? Photos can be shared via blog or social media, just use the hashtags #52Snapshots and #PBSG.
After my whining last week about how difficult this challenge was, this week I was given a gift….even Mother Nature cooperated in making capturing the theme of “Winter” much easier! With a potential blizzard on the way I knew I’d have plenty of different ways to share what Winter here in New England is like. Then I had to narrow it down! I chose this photo as my official photo for the challenge, but then I wanted to share just a few others as well.
The worst of the blizzard hit just south and east of us, so we only ended up with 6-8 inches of snow, but that was enough to keep the dogs happy! It was still pretty cold and windy, but we got out and played in the yard in spite of that.

Of all the dogs, I think Cricket enjoys the snow the most. She’s not afraid to dive right in there to find her ball, or to get covered in snow.
One day after the storm, and the yard already looks like this. There are only a few areas left that haven’t been run through!
Today we are joining the Thursday Barks & Bytes blog hop. Thank you to our hosts 2 Brown Dawgs blog, and Heart Like a Dog.
Somebuddy’s sure been busy in that yard! Cricket puts a smile on my face – pure joy in that snow!
She just loves it, and if we wake up in the morning to fresh snow, she is just like a kid on Christmas and has to get out there to play!
I adore the head-in-the-snow shot … and the “after” picture of the yard, that is so much fun.
Thanks! We keep getting more snow too, so the tracks keep getting buried, and then new ones have to be made!
“Only” 6 to 8 inches of snow. I had to laugh. Harper Lee probably won’t see 6 to 8 inches of snow in her entire life. That photo of Cricket with her head down in the snow is hilarious, but naturally my eye was drawn to Sheba and her sweet snowy face. That melted my heart . . . even with all that snow!
Ha ha, yes I can imagine what seems like little to us would be like a blizzard to you!
I have some good photos of Sheba with snow from head to toe that I’m sure I’ll be sharing at some point too. She loves the snow just as much as her smaller sister!
Lol… Cricket is so silly! That’s a great shot of the yard too. I was worried I wasn’t going to have a good photo for this week either because it’s been a pretty sunny week. But yesterday was rainy and yucky so it worked out OK.
Yes, our beagle is a little nut! I’m glad your weather worked out too! Too much sunshine definitely hasn’t been a problem here. 🙂
I am jealous of all that snow!
We’re getting another storm today. We could probably spare you a few inches at this point. 🙂
Those are such pretty photos. We got 6-8 inches too. TW likes it that way. We’re expecting more snow tomorrow night.
Thank you! We’re getting more snow now too!
Brrr! It looks like they had a lot of fun playing in the snow! Thanks for participating in #52Snapshots! I really appreciate it and love seeing what you come up with! 🙂
It is a fun challenge! I’m glad you are enjoying it too. I’ve also enjoyed seeing what others come up with.
Right here with ya! I’m in central Massachusetts. I’m sure I’ve asked you before, but where are you? Great photos! Yes, mother nature was cooperative in giving us fodder for this week’s 52 Snapshots topic 🙂 Enjoy the storm on Monday! Stay warm today, it’s awful out there. I don’t mind winter, as a general rule, but I can do without this cold and wind.
I think you saw that we’re in NH…central part of the state in the CT River Valley. Both my hubby and my families are from Western Mass, and my Dad’s family is from what I think you’d call Central (Gardner).
I could do without the cold and wind too. The dogs are not happy at only being able to go out for a few minutes at a time today.
We’re looking forward to more snow on Monday, but once again it looks like you’re going to get more than we are! 🙂
You all are so lucky to have a load of the white stuff. We are so lacking this winter, it is really depressing. Enjoy!
We feel bad for you, Emma! Hope you get some snow soon!
Awesome photos – we’re so happy you enjoyed playing in the snow – it looks like such fun!
Thank you! They really do have so much fun out there!
Love how the dogs are enjoying the snow. Cricket sticks her head right down in there! LOL In NYC, it was the #snowmeggedon that wasn’t. We got probably about 5 or 6″ but in the city, the streets and sidewalks were cleared pretty fast. We were left with dirty snow and muck…no fun! Lots of throwing the fleeces and dog parkas into the machine and wiping down.
Enjoy what you have. Looks pretty where you are.

It is very pretty. We had little snow and lots of ice for a while, but now it’s making up for it. We got a couple more inches yesterday and more to come on Monday. I was hoping to get my snowshoes out too but we’re back in the frigid temps and have to stay indoors today.
just great winter photos, I love snow on the nose photos.
Thank you! I know, there is just something so darn cute about dogs with snow on their noses! 🙂
The storm skipped us completely! I love Cricket in all of these pictures! Barley loves diving into the snow to find her toys, too. I was think she’s part ostrich in the winter with the way she buries her head in the snow 🙂
It is too funny when they do that! Cricket does it so much, we have to bring her inside to warm up her eyeballs after a while – seriously!
Sorry you didn’t get any snow. 🙁
Those are some happy dogs! We don’t understand why they like the snow so much. Silly dogs. 🙂
They are silly, aren’t they? 🙂
OMD! Only 6 to 8 inches??? We would freak out with that much snow! Of course, the entire city would shut down for days, but it would be a blast! It looks like your gang has played some serious chase!
LOL…I’d be OK if everything shut down for every snowstorm, I hate driving in it! And it doesn’t take much to make the roads messy, but of course we have 4 wheel drive to make it easier and safer.
They definitely do put some miles on in the yard!
What a great yard y’all have. We are not fond the the snow, but the photos are really beautiful. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth snd Calista Jo
It’s very lovely to look at from inside a nice warm house!
OMD Cricket buries her face in the snow just like me! I would love 6 inches of snow but you are lucky that you missed the worst of it. Love Dolly
Yes, I think we got just the right amount! Hope you get at least a little bit before winter is over, Dolly!
Look at you. Ask for snow for a theme pictures and get a blizzard….lol. Cricket is too cute. The picture with her face all the way in the snow is the best! Thanks so much for joining the hop!
You’re welcome! Would you believe we have to bring her inside sometimes though because she sticks her head in the snow so much, one time it really bothered her eyes!?
I love snow-covered puppy noses! 😀 Our last dog used to love playing in the snow and chasing snowballs. But our little Daisy isn’t much of a snow dog, probably because the depth is higher than she is!
I can see where small dogs would be pretty overwhelmed by deep snow! 🙂
You captured Cricket’s joy of winter beautifully. Sampson loves to run in the snow, he makes me laugh so much. He charges along on the leash because he cannot wait to get loose and run. Sadly, we got so much snow this week that they are more like swimming than running. We are keeping our walks to the neighborhood, just to make sure we are all safe.
Thanks for adding this to the blog hop~
They are just like little kids with snow and it is so much fun to watch them.
We’ve had to stick to playing in the yard because the roads are such a mess (no sidewalks here). I do plan to get my snowshoes out though so we can venture into the nearby woods and fields soon.
just darling! Love how the babies enjoy the snow!
Thanks, Caren! It’s so fun to watch them out there plowing through it!
Love those. They look like they are having a blast.
Thanks! It’s the one thing that really makes winter fun for me….watching them enjoy it!
SO much snow!!! Woohoooooo! We have some, but are expecting more coming in the next two days. Can’t wait!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We had still had some left, but it was wearing down and getting icy, so we were really excited for the fresh stuff. We’re also expecting a few more inches tonight and tomorrow….hope you get some too!
Not a big fan of snow but it’s pretty and the dogs seems to love it.
They certainly do. If I didn’t have dogs, I’d probably hibernate all winter. 🙂
