Luke has been so excited about Box Day ever since he got invited to be a host along with his new kitty friends Peaches and Paprika. He can’t wait to see everyone’s photos! If you haven’t heard, International Box Day is a fun blogging event created many years ago to share photos of cats in boxes. Now dogs are invited to join in the fun as well! So if you haven’t yet, grab the badge and the linky at the end of this post, and join in the fun….or if you’re not a blogger, just visit all of the other participants to see their creative box photos. We have a bunch to share!
First of all, your host Luke shows off his best profile in a box. We did only a few minutes of clicker training to lure him into the box…he’s a fast learner!
Next is Samantha, who being a cat is especially proficient at box sitting. She likes boxes that have other things in them.
She also likes boxes on top of boxes inside closets, and peeking over the edge!
Even Cricket got in on the fun, though once she ate all the treats I had to put in the box to lure her in, she was out of there!
My sister asked if her cats could join in the fun. First is her boyfriend’s cat, Aja. Aja also looks like a pro at box sitting…or napping maybe.
Last but not least is my sister’s cat, Nina. Nina, that’s not a box!! That’s OK…..there are no strict rules for Box Day so we’ll let this one slide!
We are excited to be hosting this fun event with Peaches and Paprika and their Mom Carol. Please be sure to visit them! We also want to thank Ann from Zoolatry for putting this all together and doing the great graphics for the badge.
Also, this is our first time hosting a Linky List so please be sure to let us know in the comments if you have any problems with it. It will be open through the end of the weekend.
Thanks so much for including Aja and Nina, Jan! Love all these photos, came out great! So cute though that big ol’ Luke looks Almost as comfy in the boxes as any kitties!!
Oh boy, I missed it LOL! I saw so many posts yesterday, so posted something to my Facebook, but totally missed out on doing a post for it!!!! SO sorry!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Looks like lots of fun!
Very cute!
Thanks so much for hosting today! There isn’t a box we don’t love!!!!
Marty and Ralphie
Boxes can be so much fun. Looks like you all had some fun with yours too.
This is all so much fun! We love seeing you all in your boxes. 🙂
Happy International Box Day. Thank you for hosting this awesome event!
Cricket clearly doesn’t want to be confused for a cat! Soth was very unhappy when we first start noseworks and he had to start sharing boxes with Barley. Luckily for him, most boxes are only big enough for her to get her nose inside, so he still gets to have exclusive lounging rights.
Samantha doesn’t even know about our secret stash of nosework boxes. 🙂
It’s always fun seeing woofies getting into the box action. Though honestly…us cats do boxes better. Happy Box Day!
We might have to concede to you on that one. 🙂
You did great for a dog 🙂
Here in Sweden we celebrate Midsummer today so I don´t have a box post on my blog 🙁
But I have one on Tabby Cat Club 🙂
I’ll consider that a compliment! 🙂
We’re glad you got to celebrate Box Day in some way anyway! Midsummer sounds like a fun celebration too!
Love, Luke
For sure it looked liked everyone was having a good time! I can’t believe you got Luke to sit in a box I don’t think I’d ever do that, nose work teaches you that there’s food in them, not to sit in it! Mom says to tell you that her cat Peaches, the evil cat, would sit on a box to flatten it so that her other cat couldn’t play in it. That is just plain mean! Love Dolly
Oh, that is mean! But very clever too!
You did great for a dog ! Happy International Box Day ! Mum worked the whole day, and had scheduled our post ; we’re going to update it to include the blog hop ! Purrs
Hi guys! Great boxes. Mumsy at one time had five dogs that came to live with her after they’d been dumped by mean people on her property. It was a super fun Pack! Funny how things go. Now, all us kitties must have picked up on all that as we all came, one-by-one, to make our home with Mumsy. Its great to meet all you guys! Thank you so much for hosting this International Box Day. Its great fun.
You are very welcome! It sounds like you’ve had and have quite a crew over there….we are going to stop by for a visit for sure!
Hope you were giving treats for sitting there so nice
Lily & Edward
Absolutely! We get paid for our modeling work around here! 🙂
We think you did well with your first box day!
I had no idea there was a Box Day, but now I’m pretty excited … I’ve been cleaning out the house and Boxing things up. It’s fun to think of other people all around the world maybe doing the same thing :->
You probably thought you were alone in all that boxing! It’s way more fun to put pets in boxes than to pack stuff though…LOL.
We LOVE seeing pups in boxes too! Happy International Box Day, Luke! Thank you for hosting this event!
Thank YOU for stopping by here to visit, and for joining in all the fun!

My cats really love boxes, but I have been known to jump in a box myself now and then. Wish we could have done a box post, but our calendar is packed full this month and we couldn’t fit it in.
We know how that is! 🙂
Wow you know exactly how to have fun with boxes!
WOOHOO FINALLY INDEED. THANK YOU FOR HOSTING THIS FUN EVENT. I AM A BOX LOVER TOO.
MOM MESSED UP ON LINKING TO YOUR BLOG. SHE SET AUTO POST OF 12 PM TODAY INSTEAD OF 12 AM SO WE THINK OUR LINK GOES TO YESTERDAY’S POST.
HUGS MADI AND I AM VERY HAPPY TO MEET YOU ALL
Wow you guys really DO love boxes don’t you? Mom LOVED the photo of Luke in the box the best! It made her laugh! Thanks for being one of the hosts of this most fun day!! Love, Cody
Whoa! Everybuddy is getting in on the action!
These pictures are so great! Luke your profile shot in the box is adorable. I love Samantha’s box with all the stuff in it and that peeking pose is so cute! Nina, you’re bit of a rebel. All of you are just so cute!
You have some really great boxes. i’m very envious! Some years I didn’t even get a box.
The Momz and Dadz work at a general store, so they have access to endless boxes. Plus they shop online a lot. 🙂
Love, Luke
Let’s hear it for BOXES! HIP HIP HOOOOORAY!
Hugs, Sammy
Hahaha what a funny combo of cats and dogs. You see how naturally the kitties sink blissfully into the containers while the dogs have to be lured in! Fun and diverse mix! Love the last photo of Nina in the dresser drawer. You GO, Nina! Thanks again for being our co-hosts! Come visit soon!
It was really fun doing this with you guys….I’m so glad Ann asked us!
Y’all are rockin’ those boxes!!!
Luke ~ Samantha ~ Cricket ~ Aja ~ and Nina ~ you all did an A+ Number-One-Gold-Star job today … paws up and tail wags to all of you, and to you too Jan … what super fun photos and great hosting of this years box day … thank you … hugs and purrs and nose scritches with some love tossed in from Ann and the Zoolatry Girls.
Thank you so much for asking us, Ann. We had no idea just how much fun this would be, and we’ll definitely be joining in every year from now on!
We are so proud that we put Box Day on our calendar so we wouldn’t forget this year. Thanks for hosting, y’all make very good “boxers.” BOL!
Thanks so much for the link up! I added my post and added the hop to my post as well. How fun!
wow what a cool event… the jack in the box is history, now we have a Cricket out of the box :o)
We had no idea that dogs had to be bribed or tricked to get in a box when it comes so naturally to cats. Exceptionally cute photos. Thanks for hosting. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
What fun photos, I love the one of Cricket jumping out of the box.
