As if we haven’t had enough excitement lately, last Saturday morning was rainy and windy. As we lay in bed enjoying our first cup of coffee and watching the news we heard a huge CRASH!!!!! The Dadz and I both knew what it was….surely a tree next to the house had come down. Dadz jumped up and went to investigate…I didn’t get right up because I was afraid to look! With our house up for sale, tree damage is the last thing we need.
GOOD NEWS...the tree did not hit the house. Phew. Parts might have bounced off the porch roof, but there was no damage. The photos in this post are not the tree that fell….they are what was still standing of the tree, that the Dadz cut down afterwards. With the days being so short, he didn’t get to clean them all up yet. That was a good thing for the dogs, because they were having a ball sniffing, chewing, and playing around the logs.

We’ll have this done in no time!

Heh. Are your little dogs part beaver? It’s so nice that they can help pitch in with family emergencies. Extra cookies for everyone!

So glad it missed your house! Who needs that right now? Like two springs ago we had this horrendous storm and a friend had two (four?) enormous trees in his front yard fall down so the roots were exposed. The amazing thing was, it took down the cable wire to his house, but missed the house and the brand new truck. 🙂 And we got some firewood from the deal. LOL
So glad there was no damage! When my brother’s house was for sale, the neighbor’s tree fell on the house and detached garage. Had to take it off the market to make repairs to both roofs. Thank goodness for insurance. The neighbor took care of removing the tree, which also damaged his house (it was a big tree on a city lot).
Thank Cat you are allright! Good to have the dogs to help to saw 😀 Pawkisses 🙂 <3
Glad there’s no damage and everyone is OK!
Glad it didn’t hit the house, always something to do.
Oh, that must have been scary. Glad there was no damage! And how nice to have such good helpers!
So glad the house came out unscathed! Looks like the pups are all enjoying their new “toys” 🙂 It’s so nice that you have such big helpers!
These are the best kind of toys – the free ones – right? 🙂
MOL! Nothing like having some good help. 🙂
So glad the tree missed your house. We have lots of branches in our yard, but the pups never are interested, it is kind of weird.
Not all dogs are into the stick chewing I guess, and actually these guys don’t really do it that often. Cricket has never had any interest in chewing on a stick.
Thank goodness it didn’t land on the house! Careful chewing. You don’t want splinters in your throat 😉 That’s what Mom tells Bailie all the time.
You guys are such good helpers. We had lots of wind at our house too. Can you help clean up leaves?
They try to help with the leaves too, but all they do is mess up the piles I’ve raked up! 🙂
WHEW! That must have been scary! And you’re right, you DON’T need any tree damage right about now. So happy to hear all is well.
You two are take charge kind of dogs. Good for you!
I’m sure the dogs can help!
Happy that it missed the house and that you have such wonderful pups to help clean up the mess!!
Wow!! I am glad no one got hurt!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Whew, you had to be so relieved to find out there was no damage, even from the small pieces that hit the roof. It looks like everyone was helping with the cleanup too, lol!
Thank goodness that big thing didn’t hit the house. Another good thing is look at all the sticks

Who needs chainsaws when you have dogs?!?!?! Well done guys!
Hugs, Sammy
They should make fast work of the tree. Hahaha! We have a bunch of limbs in our yard from yesterday’s storm here!
Lucky dad to have such good helpers! Love Dolly
Jack wants to come help, he is real good at cleaning sticks and small branches out of the yard. Of course his plan is to bring them in the house and then chew them up.
Good job cleaning up Sheba and Luke.
So glad it didn’t hit the house.
Luckily these two don’t try to bring any sticks in the house. I remember those days though, that was one of Maggie’s favorite things to do!
Good job guys! Dadz is lucky to have you two excellent helpers to clean up that tree mess. So glad you didn’t have any injury or damage done.

So glad there was no damage to your house! Now the fun part starts, clean up! Looks like you have some great little helpers!!
What would we do without them? 🙂
Ohmigosh! I’d have spilled the coffee all over myself and the bed! Thank goodness there was no damage to the house!!
I love all the pix, but especially that last one of Sheba chewing on the branch! She reminds me sooooo much of my sweet Callie that it’s bringing tears to my eyes.
I know whenever I see pictures of Callie I notice that she and Sheba really do look a lot alike….two beautiful girls!
Yes they are!! 🙂
Great helping guys.
fortunately your house is ok, that would be a bad timing to have a huga damage there…. and fortunately you are tree-eggsperts, so you can make some matches or confetti with that tree :o)
