The theme for this week’s #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge is “Quizzical”.
Luckily I had my new Pose A Pet™ photo app to help me get the head tilt and questioning look I wanted from Luke (I tried it with the girls too, but they did not cooperate, they claim they were too tired from playing). Today is the last day you can download the premium Pose A Pet™ app to benefit our choice of rescue, Peace and Paws Dog Rescue, who we got Luke through. You can read more about it in my previous post by clicking here.
Even with the fun app, my phone doesn’t take the best photos, especially indoors. I recently bought Adobe Photoshop Elements (under the advice of my brother-in-law, who is a professional photographer). I wanted to jazz this photo up a bit, but I’m still learning my away around the new software (and not really loving it yet). I sharpened the photo a bit, and then added this blue tint instead of just the standard black and white for Black and White Sunday. What do you think?
Thank you to The Lazy Pit Bull for hosting the #52Snapshots of Life photo challenge. Are you joining in the fun? Photos can be shared via blog or social media, just use the hashtags#52Snapshots and #PBSG. Check out other photos through the links below.

Luke looks like he is wondering why he has been disturbed for a photo while on his bed… very curious indeed, Luke. But the photo looks great. I have Photoshop Elements but have never touched it because I don’t want to learn yet another program. I am really good at my old, regular Photoshop. However, it wouldn’t be super easy to put that blue tint (which I really like!) on a photo… maybe it’s time to stop being stubborn!
I still keep falling back to my old safe softwares…the one that came with my camera and the online ones I use. But I am trying to get into Elements more when I have time, and each time I learn a little bit. I learned how to watermark a bunch of photos at the same time, and even though it took me forever…LOL….in the long run I guess it will save me time in the future (once I get used to the process)!
I think the photo editing is great and great picture for your challenge.
So beautiful! I can’t believe how much he and Bandit look alike!
Oh that pic turned out beautifully!!

Nice photo. I have both elements and lightroom that I use to edit photos. I have also added some actions from Totally Rad which I use a lot.
What is Totally Rad? Is that a website or software? I’ve never heard of it!
They are actions and presets to help edit photos. I use the ones for Adobe Lightroom.

I also have pictapgo on my phone and I like that as well.
That’s an adorable photo! 🙂
Luke has that kind of face that when you see it – you just gotta say “ahhhhh” Such a cutie!
Luke does look quizzical. Great shot!
I think this is a great photo! Luke is such a handsome fellow!
I think it’s a lovely photo! Head tilts always do me in…
I think that photo came out great!
That is the total “Is that for me?” look Phod gives me.
I love the photo! And Luke’s expression is priceless! I use Elements also but usually only when I need to do something a bit more fancy than what you can do with an online editor. Love Dolly
Thank you, Dolly! I can see why you use Elements that way. I actually found it easier to do the fancy things, than to try to do simple things like adding text!
I really, really like the blue tint!! It seems to bring out Luke’s natural black-and-white ness so much better than a regular black and white filter. And I love the head tilt! “WHAT was THAT, Mom?!” he seems to be imploring.
I agree about it bringing out Luke’s color more, and I like that it wasn’t really obviously blue either. He really does love the noises in the app, and is curious about them every time! I did find if I overdid it though, he would then lose interest. Like “yeah, I’ve heard that one Mom…gimme something new!” (good thing there’s a lot of different ones in there) LOL
I tip my head a lot, but I refused to do it for quizzical. Luke did a nice job.
What a cutie patootie! I LOVE the Pose-A-Pet app! We are writing about it on Tuesday! Paws crossed ♥
I like the effect in the eyes… it looks as id the whole world is in the eyes of your dog… tha’s not bad, huh?
Love the pose a pet app. Woofs! Have a pawsome Sunday. Golden Woofs
We got the Pose a Pet app earlier this week. The noises it makes are great. The app is a lot of fun, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for getting the app, Mark! It really is fun.
I think your picture today is fabulous. Thanks for explaining how you tweaked it, but honestly I thought you just took it that way. I’ve always got the impression Adobe Photoshop is not easy. You are very smart to learn it and apparently you are doing great.
Thank you, Rebecca! I’m really just stumbling my way around in the software right now…LOL…and mumbling under my breath a lot! But I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. I’ve learned tips from other blogs here and there, so that’s why I like to share what I do for edits. 🙂
Great photo! I wish I had a smart phone to get the app.
Hi Y’all!
