As much as it is sad to see the end of summer and then harvest season, there is something satisfying to me about putting the gardens to bed for the winter. After a slow day at my shop, the physical labor in the garden was just what I needed on that Sunday after work.
It was a comfortable autumn evening, and my hubby came down to help me pull up plants, tomato cages, and bean poles. Our farm birds love to help as well! They come down to see what we are doing, and they get excited about what might come out of the ground with the roots of those plants!

I’ll miss the fresh vegetables but I enjoy what changes each season brings on the farm. It’s the cycle of life….the dead plants go into the compost pile which will help to enrich and grow next year’s garden.
As I walked up the hill towards the house, with the sun disappearing behind the trees, I couldn’t help but draw parallels to other parts of life, like this blog ending. While it’s the end of Wag ‘n Woof Pets, the seeds were planted here and will bring the beginning and life to our new website and blog.
Both Luke and our farm birds will carry on what was started here. It will be different, but the things we learned from our rainbow crew will carry on.

Life will go on while I am transitioning things; Luke and I will have our autumn walks, and the older and young birds will be eventually fully integrated (we’re almost there). I’ll be saving up our stories while we’re off making our changes.

I want to say thank you to all of our angel canine and feline crew for the stories they gave me to share…..and also to the angels that went before I even started the blog; their stories will live on in our archives at the new blog as well. Maggie, Shelby, Katie, Don Juan, and many more….their memories all live on as we move on to something new.
For this last Nature Friday for us we thought we’d share a few more autumn photos from around the farm:

Wish us luck with our move and we’ll see you at our new place soon! ♥

Thank you! We’ll be back blogging soon! It took a little longer than anticipated to get the new URL up and running, and this week has been so busy! Hope you had a very nice Thanksgiving as well.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and to Luke! We’re looking forward to reading fun adventures on your new blog.
It’s taking a bit longer than anticipated, but we’ll be back with a new blog post soon! We hope you and your Mom had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Molly!
We still have some tomatoes in the garden (the deer haven’t found them). I will miss this blog, but am looking forward to your new one!!!
I wish I had covered and saved at least a few tomato plants, since our frosts have been pretty spotty lately. But we had to get going on putting things to bed too (hubby was on vacation so it was a good time to do it!).
Thank you! The new blog is on the schedule, so it shouldn’t be too long now! 🙂
Wishing all of you the very best for your future adventures, both personal and professional.
Thank you so much!! ♥
I love and admire that you are looking ahead with confidence. I just hope I don’t lose track of you. I get so attached! 🙂 And I know I’m not the only one.

While I’m sad to see this blog end, I’m excited for your new beginning because I am certain it will be extra fabulous!! I’m working on changing things too, not quite sure when, but it’s coming!!
I look forward to seeing what you do next as well, Caren. We miss our furry loved ones that are gone, but I’m excited for you and your new family member too. ♥
All the best wishes to you and Luke as you move on to new adventures. We’ll look forward to seeing the new iteration. Be well, stay safe and keep smiling.

Thank you so much, friends!! ♥
Of course we wish you the best of luck in your new ventures!! But oh we are sad, sad to see the end of this wonderful blog. However, we understand…and really, it is more that we feel we are saying goodbye to the inspirations and subjects of the blog, when in reality we said goodbye to many of them some time ago. We will all still have our wonderful memories. So, thank you so much for the informative, insightful, fun, funny, sentimental posts! You will be missed here but we will look forward to continuing to follow the current farm animals and happenings, in their new space! Love you all!
Thank you so much, Auntie Lynn. We love you too! ♥♥♥
I know how hard this is for you. I’m wrestling with how we are going to change in 2021. Life is all about changing and I know you are going to be a great success with your shop and new blog! Keep us updated.
Change can be good, but difficult, all at the same time! I hope you figure out were you want to go as well. Whatever you decide, I know it will be fun!
Thank you, and we will keep you posted!
Awe what a great ending post. Good luck with the move to the new website and blog.
Thank you, JoAnn! xo
Endings are sad, but a new beginning can be a good thing.
All good things must come to an end, so they say; and there must be a reason for that. ♥
We wish you the best of everything! We look forward to seeing you all again soon!! Ducky sends love and kisses to her “boyfriend” Luke; and I send Luke kisses and belly rubs, and hugs and positive energy for great things to you!!
Thank you to both you and Ducky for all of that! Luke is a happy dog now! 🙂
The farm is looking lovely. Bittersweet ending we know…but we look forward to new your beginnings too.
Yes. I alternate between being sad and excited! 🙂
Thank you. ♥
I wish you all the luck in the world with the new blog. Can’t wait to see you there!
Thank you! It’s in the works, so hopefully before the end of next month we’ll be all up and going!
We wish you nothing but the best and we’ll sure be looking forward to seeing your new blog, we’ll be there! Hugs from all of us.
Thank you for sticking with us!! ♥♥♥
I’m ready for some cooler temperatures and I know they are just around the corner. I’ll just be glad when I quit turning on the air conditioner each day.
I know you’ll let me know what going on with you because Luke told me you would. I believe everything Luke says.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. Big hug to you and smooches to Luke. ♥
Luke would never lie to you, that’s for sure!! He sends smooches right back to you. ♥
please send us a sign when your new site is ready…. we miss you a lot and we enjoyed it today to see your angels… they all are deep in our hearts …
We will be sure to let you know!! Thank you. ♥♥♥
Living the dream for sure. I love seeing the farm pics and I bet the hens were excited to get at those plant roots for insects. Sad to see another summer pass and wonder where did it go? I sure hope 2021 is better than 2020 lol.
I’d like to say it couldn’t be worse, but I don’t dare tempt fate that way!! LOL
So sad to see this blog ending. The end of BlogPaws really did end blogging as we knew it, and all the other things that have happened, including losing so many of our beloved pets has also contributed. You’ve had a great run, and we look forward to seeing your new site and blog down the road. Remember to let all of us know when the new site is up and running. Have fun creating a new place to be!
I am both sad and happy.
I’m looking forward to getting to work on the new place – I did end up hiring some help though! Once I researched all it would take to move it myself, I thought it would be way too stressful, and I really don’t have the time to deal with all that!
We’ll be sure to keep you posted!
Love those vibrant purple Asters! Good luck on your move. We can’t wait to follow along on your adventures in your new place!
Thank you, Molly! xo
Hi, and bye for now all of you! Looking forward to what comes next!
(and where to find it??)
I did a lot of similar things in our yard this past week, but there were only doggy schnozzles to investigate and ‘help’, BOL!! Good thing, cause right now we are having a freeze.
Don’t worry, I will let you know where to find us! I am hoping my email subscriptions will switch right over, but who knows??
Luke helps me in my herb garden, so he gets his chance to get his nose in on everything too!
