In light of my new series, The Challenges of Gardening with Dogs – Are Your Plants Safe? I thought I would share a throwback post that illustrates exactly why I especially worry about Luke eating some sort of plant that he shouldn’t. This post is from over 2 years ago, but his grazing habits have not changed over the years!
BLACK & WHITE SUNDAY RIDDLE (originally posted May 2014)
Many of you probably remember that a few weeks ago we had Luke’s DNA tested. The results confirmed that he is mostly Labrador Retriever, but we were skeptical about the other breeds revealed. Now that Luke is 6 months old and his personality is emerging, it occurred to me that perhaps there’s something else in his DNA that they never would have tested for. Here’s some hints:
What is black & white?
Grazes on grass?
And drinks from a trough?
Here’s a hint:

Can you say MOOOOOOO?
Look at this side by side comparison:
Am I right? 🙂
OK, fine, Lukey-Lu, cows probably don’t play with balls! Mom was just teasing you!
***I can’t believe how little he was back then!***
No plants are safe in our yard, just sayin’. And I don’t think Luke is a cow. Love Dolly
LOL I remember that post and I can’t believe it is from so long ago.
haha what a great throwback post. Love it
Awwwwww, Luke, we think cow-boys are handsome. Mommy says my sister is part pig. The other day we gave her her first taste of watermelon, and she gobbled it . . . rind and all!
Poor, Luke! I feel for you buddy as my mom often says my spots make me look like a Holstein cow too.
OMG that was hysterical. I often think Delilah is part cow because of her grazing habits! It must be the lab thing. 🙂
OH! MY! DOG!!! Thank you for the belly laughs!! I needed them sooo much! Shadow’s sensitive tummy has been “hyperactive” since Sunday and it’s taken a vet visit on Monday and some prednisone to get her feeling well enough to start eating again. I’m hopeful that this latest episode will convince Sam that he REALLY HAS TO stop sneaking them people food.
Those recessive genes often pop up in most unexpected ways. 🙂
Mom calls us cows too
Lily & Edward
maybe you can be Lucky Luke the famous Cowboy :o) you only need a white horse and the most goofiest dog of the wild wild west… you can call me if the job of the dog is still available :o)
