“What? Is summer really over??”
“Well, at least I look handsome in my new autumn colors bandana, right (it’s the reverse side of my summer bandana!)?”
The truth is, Luke’s probably happy summer is over. His late summer seasonal allergies are flaring up, so he’s more than ready for things to start dying off. We didn’t have much of a summer, really, it was not very hot but it was still good. Our weather has quickly turned even more fall-like, and I do have to say that we’ve enjoyed the bug-free walks in the mornings. I think we’re ready for autumn. Having the house closed up more due to the chillier temperatures should help his allergies as well.
Fall is really my favorite season, I’m just usually more ready for it after a hotter summer. After a busy Labor Day weekend, we’re trying to get back into the swing of things and I’m ready for the autumn decorating (not only of Luke, ha-ha).
How do you feel about summer being unofficially over?
We are pleased to be joining our friends at Comedy Plus for the Happy Tuesday blog hop! Please visit them and other blogs through the links below.
IF it is over, I’m perfectly okay with it. Fall is my favorite season and both dogs are far more comfortable with the cooler weather. My electric bill is also happy. 🙂 I do suspect we will get a resurgence of heat though.
I don’t know….I think if we do it will be pretty short-lived. They are saying high 60’s here all week. It was only just above 40 degrees when I headed out for my run this morning. BRRRR….I’m not quite ready for that extreme yet! We only used our air conditioner once this summer, and even the fans very little, other than the ceiling fans. I guess it wasn’t as bad as the year we got snow on the 4th of July though!! LOL
Summer usually stretches into October but we do get into the upper 70s and 80s which feels amazing after this week’s 103°. We can’t wait to open up our windows and let some fresh fall air inside. I’m loving Luke’s bandana!
You are probably just opening your windows up as we’re closing ours!! LOL
I dread winter … so fall kind of gets the bad rap as the lead in to winter. Luke is handsome as always though!
I know, poor fall, having to lead into winter…that is the only bad thing.
Indeed, summer is only unofficially over and I wish the temps were not following suit. Having to have the house closed up already?!! Just depressing! I Live outdoors on my porch and I really can’t bear the chilly temps-seeing the hummingbirds and butterflies go away? No, no! Not at all ready this year to let summer go and believe me, I am not a lover of high heat or humidity, but we have had neither for any length of time this year. Anyway, sorry you made me rant about that Jan, lol. But Luke, I think you would be with me if it weren’t for those pesky allergies?! So Sorry you have been dealing with those and glad for you if they might ease up now! Every season has something to complain about for sure, I just find more happiness the last few years in the warmer months for sure. But love your fall bandana too Luke! Just tell Momz it’s not time for that until Sept 23rd!
It’s because we love being outdoors so much, and love the fresh air coming in, that we don’t want summer to end…..
Luke you are so cute!!! I wish our summer was over. It has still been in the 90’s here except for today since we have hurricane Dorian off shore so we have a nice breeze and rain from the squalls.
xoxo,
Matt, Matilda and Mama
We hope the storm was pretty quiet for you!! xoxo
I can’t believe it’s winding down. You look handsome in your bandanna
Thank you!
It goes by so quickly, doesn’t it??
I cannot lie, I’m ready for a change…especially knowing that autumn is around the corner. For now though, a toasty Indian Summer season. Love your bandana!
I know you had a very hot summer there, so I imagine you are more than ready for autumn!!
I love Autumn! This summer was so hot. I’ll take as many Autumn like days that I can get.
Our summer never really got very hot, other than a couple very short spells of it. But it is nice to be able to get out in the sunshine without roasting!
As far as we’re concerned, summer doesn’t end until Sept 21. 😉 Luke’s looking good in his bandana!
We bet summer is very nice there on the water where you are!!
We are looking forward to the cooler weather and Autumn colors around here!!
Autumn colors are my favorite!!
Well…Summer isn’t REALLY over til Fall arrives on Sept 21 (I think)……..Fall is my favorite season so for me, Summer can’t end fast enough!
I’m not sure it ever even really began here!! LOL
Summer is way to hot down this way and we are fall fans too. Luke, you look mighty handsome dude!
We hope the storm wasn’t too bad in your area either!
I am thrilled it is over. Summer is my least favorite season. Luke looks great in his fall colors.
We have a whole bunch of fall color bandanas, so he’ll be styling all autumn long. 🙂
Let me put it to this way. I’m very unhappy about Summer being over unofficially. Summer here is officially over on Sept. 23, 2019. Daisy Mae is thrilled Summer is over because she didn’t like the warm weather.
You sound exactly like my sister!! Luke loves to lay out in the hot sun, but it’s better when it’s not quite SO hot!
There’s nothing better than seeing you, Luke. I know you’re ready for fall and so is most everyone that’s suffered through such a hot summer.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a woof woof Happy Tuesday, Luke. My best to your mom. ♥
Thank YOU for hosting, Sandee!
Love, Luke
Luke we are with you… we can not handle such awful heat we had during the last weeks…. so lets welcome fall yay!
Ours is definitely here, but we wonder if we’ll get that Indian summer?
We wish summer was over! At least it’s been a little cooler in the morning the last few days, but it warms up considerably by 3 or 4 in the afternoon. Oh well, autumn will be here in a few weeks and hopefully the bees will start “hibernating”.
I hope your bees go away soon! They are still pretty active here too. At least the mosquitoes and deer flies seem to be settling down, for the most part.
It has felt like fall here for a couple weeks and we love it. I think we only had four days at 90 or above all summer. We really have loved the cool summer.
Our summer was about the same as yours, I think. We knew you’d be happy about it! 🙂
You look so handsome in your autumn bandana, Luke, and we are HUGE fans of fall and the cooler temps and no bugs on our walks!
Thank you, Molly! We’re so glad you are happy fall is about here as well. I wonder if it’s as cool down your way yet? They are only predicting high 60’s here all week!
