Apparently the Momz has not heard the Albert Einstein quote: “Insanity – doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” When chewy.com offered us this fun cat toy: the Kong Active Triangle Playmat/Tunnel, with dangling catnip mouse, she just had to give Sam one more chance to do a review, even though Sam has not come through for her time and time again. (Momz, was there not dog treats to choose from for this month’s review??)
We don’t actually blame the Momz for thinking that Sam might like this. Sam does, after all, love to hide away in cozy places, so we all thought she might just enjoy tucking herself into this plush little playground and maybe even scratch the sisal wall and play with that mouse.

First, we’ll tell you a little more about it. It really is a cool toy. It folds up for easy storage or travel, and it has 2 plush walls and one sisal wall for scratching. The exterior wipes clean. And look at the pretty color! The only thing we were not sure about was the size. It’s pretty small. Sam is a petite cat and she could certainly fit in there though, and cats like those tight spaces, right? Plus it would be perfect for kittens as well.
We showed this photo yesterday and asked people how they thought the review went. Most correctly guessed that it did not go well. The Momz moved that thing to multiple locations all over the house, all of Sam’s favorite hangout spots.

She even put treats inside to try to entice Sam in there. Nothing doing.

Finally, Momz gave up on the triangle part and tried just leaving it around laid flat. It can still be fun like that…there’s plush to lay on, sisal to scratch, and the mouse is still within reach. We like that the mouse is attached, because yes, Luke did try to steal it! Sam was seen laying on it, but whenever Momz grabbed the camera, she got up. Here Momz has it all stretched out for her, and what does Sam do? She lies on an envelope full of receipts, and the packaging for the mat that Momz had next to her computer for me to refer to when writing. What a bratty cat she is, am I right?

FINALLY, she laid down on the mat and stayed there long enough for Momz to get the photo! So, we wonder, does that make it a win for the Momz, or is she really insane (sorry, Momz)? Well, let’s just say I’M the one doing the work here, so that just might be your answer!

Listen, Sam is finicky about everything. We think this is a great toy that most NORMAL cats would like! If Sam doesn’t use it more soon, we’ll be passing it on to Cousin Nina to see what she thinks. But we still recommend it.
It is on sale right now at chewy.com, so you can get one for your cat for Christmas! Chewy has speedy shipping (free over $49!), and impeccable customer service; not to mention more pet products and supplies than you can dream of! It’s a great place to do some Christmas shopping…in fact, I think I’m going to head over there right now and put some things in Momz’ shopping cart so they’ll be there next time she orders our food (shhh…don’t tell)!
*Disclaimer: We received this Kong toy to review from chewy.com, but were in no other way compensated for this post. All opinions are our own.
Nestle takes a long time to warm up to new things. (One reason I never accept reviews for her…lol) She would like this, but it would take her time to figure out that she likes it. Cats are so weird.
Well from what I remember about having cats….they are not in the ‘game’ to please you. They are basically self-pleasers and do whatever the heck they want. LOL
LOL…you’ve definitely got that right, Jodi!
I wouldn’t get any work done watching and waiting for her to go inside. I’m mesmerized with cat movements.
You have to be a very patient person though, because in my experience cats don’t move very quickly! LOL
Darn cats! They never cooperate when we want them to!
Typical cat! I laughed so hard when she laid down right next to it on top of a pile of paperwork!
We have pretty much given up on toys for Maxwell and Lucas as they would much prefer a piece of string or bottle top that they manage to find from who knows where!
I do agree that it looks like a fun toy!
The last thing I actually saw Sam play with was a moth that had flown into the house! LOL
Silly Samantha!! It looks like a fun toy 🙂
MOL – Oh Samantha, you crack me up. I thought this looked like a fun toy, but I am pretty certain Callie would not fit since she’s a little plump. She would probably like to lay on top of it and maybe scratch it at least.
One of the reasons we didn’t pass it on to Cousin Nina to review is because Nina is pretty plump too!! LOL
Hahahaha! Sam sounds exactly like my cats. Makes it very hard to do a review! LOL! But hey, I would count this one as a win! You got one successful photo, and that, in my books, is a win!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
We think you’re right! We got some good photos, right? Even if she didn’t actually go inside it!
I think that my cats would have loved something like this. Back in those days, they only had brown paper bags to play with! MOL!
Ha ha, Sam needs to be reminded of how good she has it, right? Though come to think of it, she’d probably play with a brown paper bag……no one is going to pay me to review that though, are they? MOL
hahaha the best laid plans, Sam you silly kitty.
You mom has been spending way too much time with the dogs if she think Sam is going to investigate something on command or be bribed by treats. Sigh. The mat may be fun to lie on but that triangle thing wouldn’t interest me at all.
Hmmm…maybe we need to up the cat population around here so the Momz can keep things straight! She might have forgotten just how independent cats are! 🙂
Hahaha! Well I think it looks great! Maybe Sam just needs a few more days to except it into his world 🙂
Meant her world! Gah! Sorry!
Well, considering we mostly call her Sam and not Samantha, if you had made that mistake it would have been understandable!
We’ll see what happens….I still keep moving it to different locations to see if she’ll go for it. 🙂
We are impressed that you even got her to lay on it! Rhette would get totally stuck in it. But overall Cricked did great work! Love Dolly
The reason I didn’t pass it on to Cousin Nina immediately was partly because Nina is just a bit chunky, and I thought she might not fit in it either! LOL
Haha. She does not look very impressed! I think you should listen to the dogs and get them things to review instead!
We may have finally given up on the cat as far as reviews go!! 🙂
Well, at least the triangle makes a nice mat. As a triangle, it’s just not very big for the average size cat.
Oh Sam! You silly gal, it looks like fun!
LOL! Cats! They are the worst… At least mine are. They’d probably do the same thing, which is why we don’t do kitty reviews very often! 😀 That does look like something Pandora would like though! I will check it out!
Samantha just wants to keep the Momz hopping. She’ll probably play with the triangle when no humans are watching. 🙂
No doubt!! 🙂
when a diva says “NO, thanks” it means what it says, right Samantha? my mom’s idea to give a gingerbread house to Maurice, her aunts kitty, backfired too… Maurice did unbelievable things he normally does at another place :o)
Yikes, at least Samantha only shows her disdain by ignoring things and walking away (plus giving dirty looks to the camera)!
Oh boy that thing looks fun
Lily & Edward
Cats are never to be relied upon, well except Bert who will do anything for food. At least she did finally lie down on it for a photo. We were sure Luke got in on it and destroyed it, but I guess he behaved!
We wish Samantha was a little more food motivated! She was willing to wait the Momz out, knowing she would give in and flatten it eventually.
Aw Cricket, your Momz is just being a good Momz, trying to be fair to ALL of you furry siblings. But since you wrote the review, I don’t think Momz will mind getting those extra goodies you put in her chewy cart. ????
The Momz agrees I deserve some extra treats for all the hard work I’ve been doing lately! Love, Cricket
