It seems like we’ve been talking about pumpkins a lot lately around here. Luke posed for our #52Snapshots of Life pumpkin theme post, and guess what special birthday treat he and Sheba got this year? You guessed it – pumpkin/apple (more about that tomorrow). The dogs love pumpkin, and it’s good for them, so why not….it’s that time of year, right?
I may or may not get around to roasting that pumpkin like I want to. So when Chewy.com asked us to select something to review this month, we had to pick something pumpkin. I knew the dogs would like Pumpkin Patch Up supplement from Weruva. It’s not just the dogs that love pumpkin either, I’m a big fan of it as well. Not just because I love it for myself…pumpkin pie, bread, and muffins, but because I love how healthy it is for the dogs.
Pumpkin Patch Up has just two ingredients – pumpkin and water. What are the benefits of pumpkin? It supports stool quality and a healthy gut, because it has soluble and insoluble fibers. This product is pureed for easy mixing and gluten free. You can add it to your pet’s food or as a treat daily. We have used pumpkin as a supplement in the past to settle upset stomachs, and now we use it as an occasional supplement and a special treat that they love.
Now there is at least one member of our household who is not a fan of pumpkin. The Dadz would just as soon let the dogs have pumpkin, but he has no interest in any of the goodies I like. But the other reason I wanted to try this supplement is because it’s for cats as well! I thought it would be great to add it to Samantha’s diet too.

Some of you may already know that our Sam is quite fussy. So the question remained: would Samantha eat the supplement, or would we have to outsource her part of this review to Cousin Nina?

I will give the answer below, but before you scroll down, what do you think? Will finicky Sam eat it or not?

We guess Sam sided with the Dadz on this one! So we’ll be sending a packet to Cousin Nina and let you know later if she likes it or not! If your cat is not so “particular”, or if you have dogs that love it, you can buy this supplement on chewy.com and it’s on sale now! Chewy’s shipping is super fast, free over $49, and if you have any issues with your order, their customer service is impeccable!
Where does your household stand on the pumpkin issue – are you pumpkin crazy or not? Please tell us in the comments below!
*Disclaimer: We received a free case of Weruva Pumpkin Patch Up supplement to review from chewy.com, but were in no other way compensated for this post. All opinions are our own.
Our pups love pumpkin puree and get a spoonful each with every meal 🙂
LOL my kitty would not eat it either. I had to change her food recently and imagine my surprise when she actually put her head in the bowl and ate it. I figured I would need to try many kinds.
My girls pretty much like anything I give them. Pumpkin needs to be on an as-needed only basis around here though because too much can cause problems too. As for me, I’m not a big fan though I will eat a slice of pumpkin pie once in a while. And hubby doesn’t like it at all.

now see, I bet that she’d eat the pumpkin. I lost LOL glad Luke helped out.
That recipe sounds awesome, thanks for sharing it! I definitely need to try it, and it does sound great for Thanksgiving too.
If our cat Conrad was still with us, he would have eaten the pumpkin, he was not fussy like Sam! In fact, I wish I’d known about it then, it probably would have been good for the old guy since he had some digestive issues.
Yay, Nina will get some more treats (aka supplements) to try!! Whoops, I mean, oh, bummer, Sam doesn’t like pumpkin! LOL. I guessed right that Sam would not like it. But this one IS interesting, because you know, we think Nina likes everything-but most everything cat related has either meat or seafood involved, so Just pumpkin?? Hmmm, could be interesting…
I can’t wait to find out too! If she does like it, then you can always just mix a little bit into her food. I didn’t want to do that with Sam, because if she didn’t like it which I suspected, then she wouldn’t have eaten her food either!
Knowing cats my guess is she won’t but that doesn’t meet its not yummy! Love Dolly
You can’t rely on cats to know if food is good, because they are notoriously finicky. What about Rhette, do you think he would eat it?
We are all pumpkin lovers here at my house too. Cats and dogs. Yummy!
Silly cats 🙂 I love pumpkin and so does Cocoa. I add chocolate chips to my pumpkin bread and it amazing. And healthy!!
Oh, chocolate chips in pumpkin bread, that sounds awesome! I’m going to have to try that. Maybe my hubby would even eat it that way!
LOL! kitties can be sooooo picky can’t they?!

Be sure to let us know if you find it! 🙂
I love products that have simple ingredients. Pumpkin and water sounds terrific. ☺
I love pumpkin! I’m going to be getting a special pumpkin treat to celebrate Mommy’s birthday on Mischief Night and Halloween the next day! WHEEEEEEE!!! 😀
I’m with you Sam… my momma mixed some pumpkin under my food and I removed that from my bowl immediately…. fortunately our kitchen rug is anyway orange BOL
