When we lived at our old house I started a pet memorial garden where we had buried or spread the ashes of most of the dogs and cats that passed on while we were in that home. We were there over 20 years, and there were a lot of pets: 5 cats (plus one who sadly just disappeared, so we never had her remains), and 4 dogs.

It would have taken a lot of money to have a personalized marker made for each of them. I never could find anything that seemed affordable, so we had one solar pathway light for each in the garden, and then our trellis where we hung their tags. When we buried our two girls, Sheba and Cricket, here at our new home, I started a memorial garden here. When given the opportunity to review a product from Cades & Birch, I immediately found what I wanted for the garden to remember our girls.
We have less pets now (as long as you don’t count the birds!), and we’re getting older so having individual markers doesn’t seem so overwhelming financially. When I saw the price on the crosses we chose, I realized it wouldn’t have been so overwhelming back then with ten pets in the garden either, if this had been an option. In my opinion, the prices are amazing, especially for handmade and personalized products like these.
Owner Lisa Molnar generously agreed to make a Personalized Dog Bone Memorial Cross for each of our girls, but even if she hadn’t, I wouldn’t hesitate to spend the $35 for one, especially after opening the box to see the completed crosses.
The first thing I noticed was that I could smell the pine wood she had used. I love nothing more than the smell of fresh cut wood and I was so pleased. These are not some mass-produced products made of resin or some kind of plastic. The crosses are engraved with each of the girl’s names, and for just a little more money you can even have a photo put on. It comes pre-drilled for a metal rebar to put into the ground, and the bar is included as well. I had to take a photo of the bars so you can see just how heavy duty they are. I have other garden decor that came with flimsy little metal bars that barely keep things standing.
There is nothing flimsy or chintzy about this product, and it is a good size. I can see the crosses from our house windows, a ways across the yard and I can clearly read each of the girl’s names. I’m not sure the photos do justice to just how beautiful they really are. I could not be more pleased. There are other styles of crosses also available, for cats and other animals as well. I imagine if I asked, I could get a cross made for our one chicken who is buried with the dogs too. 😊

Lisa is a mother of four and an event planner, and she has a team of helpers for this new San Diego based company. I can’t even begin to tell you all the beautiful products available, big and small, from Christmas ornaments and cake toppers to memory boxes and feeders…all available to be personalized for your pet, many with photos.
It’s not just for pets though, there is home and wedding décor, gifts, pillows, journals, gifts and much, much more. I urge you to check out the Etsy store for Cades & Birch and see all that is available.

These are so beautiful! My husband is thinking about putting a bush or tree where Ginger is buried and I think one of these will be perfect to put in front of it.

That would look so nice!! I started my first memorial garden when our neighbors gave us some plants when our golden retriever, Moses, died.
I love the Bark Day cake topper! It can be used over and over and it is good for multiple pet households. I also am fond of the Dog Bone Memorial. It makes me sad to think of my girl’s passing though.
I hope that time is a long way away for you. ♥
I like the pet treat storage box. You could order it with a dog’s name to store treats & belongings now but then repurpose it as a memory box later (especially if you do not engrave the word treats on it). Then, you can feel more confident about making choices about what your dog likes instead of when you are grieving.
That is such a great idea, Carolyn! I might have to look at that for myself.
Oh my! The crosses turned out beautifully. What a wonderful addition to your memory garden.
They really are perfect.
The pet birthday cake toppers are pretty darn cute!
Having those might motivate me to actually bake a birthday cake for Luke too! LOL
Those crosses are beautiful and of course I would pick them from their website. They have a lot of nice memoribial items.
You have such a beautiful garden area for your family, these would look lovely in there. ♥
These are really nice. I love the weathered look and also the detail of the paw print and font used for the name.
The engraving is very deep too, they really did a quality job.
Oh, those are just lovely, Jan!! And for sure the quality sounds super, especially compared to the (sorry) chintzy things you find online. Would check out this company/site, for sure!
They really are beautiful, wait til you see them in person, you’ll be even more impressed.
Those are very nice. Most of my deceased cats’ ashes boxes are in the closet. Someday I want them buried with me.
That is such a wonderful idea, Ellen! ♥ I think I will have my ashes scattered right on the memorial garden.
Those really beautiful crosses. Thanks for sharing!
We love to share quality products!
How beautiful! Such a wonderful addition to your Memorial Garden! I’m hoping to get one of their memorial boxes for Dory after the holidays.
I am sure you will be very pleased with it, and it will be perfect for Dory. ♥
I would love to win one of these crosses. My favorite pet product is the Personalized Pet Memory Photo Box – Name And Pawprint. I really like it.
Those boxes are definitely a favorite. Good luck in the giveaway!
What a beautiful way to memorialize a pet! I love those crosses and would love to include something like that in my own memorial garden. Thanks for sharing a very cool company.
They are so pretty and I can’t wait to see how they look in the summer!
Those are nice pet memorial crosses.Would love to win one.
those came out nice! She had contacted me a few months ago but she never followed up…I forgot all about her…she does have nice items.
We had a little trouble with communications too, she wasn’t always getting all my emails. I had my heart set on those crosses though, so I wasn’t giving up! 🙂
I really like the personalized pillows
Those are very nice!
I love the Personalized Pet Memory Box with Name and Quote or Poem. I could really use it for my little one who passed a year ago.
The pet memory boxes are so special. I never know what to do with all those little things from our angels that I can’t bear to part with. Good luck in the giveaway, Cheryl!
Those are really nicely done and really affordable too.
So many handmade items are a lot more expensive, and even ones that are not handmade can be much more, especially for personalization.
that is a sweet idea to honor the ones we miss so much every day…
They deserve it, don’t they? ♥
They came out really nice. We love all the fun stuff they sell, and especially our memory box. We still need to order one for Emma, but Mom can’t get it together enough to do it yet.
I don’t think I could have gotten the crosses so soon after our girls passed either, it’s tough. The memory boxes are so nice too.
