Happy 10th Birthday to Our Little Girl

It’s so hard to believe that our Cricket was once this tiny:

And that she is turning 10 years old today!   Cricket will always be our little girl.  At 10 she is still extremely active, happy, and healthy.  We hope she will be with us for many, many years to come!

Happy Birthday, Sweetie.

A word from the birthday girl:  Momz has had company this weekend, so I haven’t been getting the attention I thought I would for my birthday weekend!!  On top of that, she was all involved in planning a big BBQ for Saturday night for about 20 of their family and friends.  I thought this weekend would be all about me!

So once again Momz is the mischief maker.  Well, OK, there was a special meal with leftover chicken and fresh local corn off the cob for supper last night, and more talk of that AND maybe steak for my birthday dinner.  And all those people that came to the BBQ?  Lots of them threw our ball for us, even two cute little girls.  But then we had to go downstairs while they ate dinner and had a bonfire.  Well, yes, we were pretty hot and tired from playing and the A/C was on down there, plus we got treats for going down so I guess it wasn’t too bad.  As soon as they got back in the house, we all got to go back upstairs and hang out with some of our aunts and uncles for a little while.  So I guess it wasn’t all bad….plus I hear talk of a special dessert tonight and maybe a gift.  It’s been a pretty good birthday weekend after all, and we’ll be sharing some pictures of my pawty later this week!

Wow, can’t believe it, but anyway so glad you had a good birthday, because in spite of your initial complaints (too funny) you know you had a great birthday, with lots of special things!! LOVE you!!

    • Thank you, Auntie Lynn!! I LOVE you too!!! I may be 10, but I am still a puppy at heart! I did have a great birthday, and we’ve been getting special treats all week, so the celebration continues!

  10. Oh Cricket Happy belated birthday sweet one…so glad you got some chicken and corn and a play 🙂 and hey 10 is still young…we have an 11 and early 12 year old here and they are still pups to me 🙂 big hugs and puppy loves to you Fozziemum and gang xxx

      • It is indeed Cricket! our old Rottie only lived to 8 and we lost him when he had liver failure..the oldest kittie we had was 17..so for us 11 and 12 for a doggie is fantastic and i agree well worth celebrating!! and we love senior pups..they still have puppy attitude..just a tad slower 😉 much like us ! hugs and loves Fozziemum xxx

  11. I’m sure you had a wonderful birthday, Cricket!! Your Mom wouldn’t not make it special for you! You’re lucky that you can eat “people food” — with all their digestive issues these last several months, my girls are on a strict dog-food-only diet until we get them back to normal. (Shadow’s 10th birthday is next month. And Callie’s half-year birthday is the same day. Ducky’s 2nd Gotcha Day is in 2+ weeks.)

    • Oh, you have a busy fall with birthdays and such too! Both Luke and Sheba have their birthdays in October (Sheba will be 10 as well). I had a great birthday. Mom is careful to add just small amounts of special treats to our kibble, to be sure we don’t get upset stomachs. So far, so good!

  27. You are a perfect 10, Cricket! As I saw the thumbnail, I thought you all got a new puppy, but now I see, you faded out just like I did! Enjoy your day and your year being ten!

    • Oh, thank goodness we didn’t get another puppy! Not that seeing those puppy photos doesn’t make us want another one…especially Dad!
